Sears Auto Center

Went in with a coupon for a battery install. I heard that the Diehard battery was decent. 1^st Customer service was writing it up on his computer, but then showed the other CS working with him my coupon. I assume he was in charge, as he said, «just change the battery and do not bother cleaning the posts». This was cause I was using a coupon. I was stunned. I called him on it and asked if he just said what I think he said, and he said yes. I turned and walked out. Sadly, Sears puts the coupon to get people in, and here are these 2 guys driving them out. They must not need the business. In the end, I went to Autozone and picked up a Duralast with 5 yr warranty for a total of $ 149. No complaints and I got treated much better at Autozone.

I usually just have them change my oil but i don’t even want them doing that anymore. One of my wheels was making a weird squeaking noise whenever i was going more that 20 mile per hour. I took it to sears to see what they would say. They told me it was my front driver side hub assembly and it would be around $ 300 to repair. I’ve had questionable service before so i went to get a second opinion. I took it to a Mechanic referred by a friend and they said it was a hub assembly but it was the rear side, not the driver side. They fixed it and i never head the noise again. If i had taken it to Sears they would have replaced the driver side, the noise would have continued and I’d be forced to take it back to do the side with the actual problem costing me another $ 300. That’s been my experience. These people are inexperienced and just… hustlers.

Set an appointment and checked in 20 minutes early, the car sat in the parking lot until 40 minutes after my appointment, when an employee saw me walking by the shop door, giving the smoking employees standing around a funny look. They immediately grabbed my ticket and made some excuse about everyone going to lunch at the same time (3:40pm). The car was then rushed through the oil change service, the fluids claimed to be topped as part of the service were not touched, tires not at proper pressure… I assume the rest of the «safety inspection» was not done as well. I tried calling a manager at the store for two days, they don’t answer the phone, I left two voicemails and never got a call back.
I will NEVER shop at Sears again.

I went to get the oil change. Later, I found that my washer cap was missing. I ended up paying $ 30 to buy a new one. I will never go there again. Horrible service!

I came in here to see about having my car looked at due to a specific code for a «service engine soon» issue that I had already verified at Auto Zone. The clerk informed me they wanted $ 80+ to do their own check on the code and wouldn’t accept the printout from Auto Zone and that I’d have to wait 3 days just for that. I said no thanks.

I came for new battery purchase and installation and i informed by sales person it will take about an hour to install new battery. After 2 hours waiting I informed they will start to work on my car soon. I argued with manager of the location and he said they wont work on my car! He told to mechanic to not to work on my car. I yell them bc i know my rights as a customer. I called customer service and the manager totally changed his language. After that they install new battery in 10 minutes only! They are totally stupid and definitely don’t choose sears auto center at federal way!

the person I spoke with over the phone did all he could to help me. I purchased tires online that were in stock at a store in Federal Way, Wa. After my wife dropped me off at work, she drove to the store to have the tires installed. The store representative insisted that the tires were not available, and that the order had been canceled and that we will recieve a refund in the next 2 – 3 business days. My wife is pregnant, she had my 1 year old son, and they sent her out into a storm needing tires that we paid for. They offered no alternative while at the store. They have endangered the lives of my family. And we have to wait 2 – 3 business days till we can purchase new tires elsewhere. They sent away my wife crying, and afraid to drive on a doughnut as she was hydroplaining on the road the whole way to Sears. I spent an hour on the phone with a Sears rep. The representative called on my behalf and the store gave him the same attitude and treatment they had given my wife. He also investigated the availability of the tires and found that the store did in fact have them in stock and that it was the store who canceled our order. Our issues have not been resolved and I will continue to share our story online untill it is! This is inhumane behavior. That you would take our money for a product that is available, claim it is un-​available when we get there, cancel our order making our money not available, then send away a pregnant woman with her 1 year old child who are obviously afraid to be on the road, out in the middle of a storm. Who in their right mind would do this?

I just recently had a terrific experience getting new tires, alignment and oil change at Sears in Federal Way. First of all I was caught in Seattle traffic and called in to be late. He said «no problem, same thing happened to me this morning, see ya when ya get here». Well, I finally got there and they got me started right away, helped correct some of the errors I made from my on line order, took care of everything honestly and quickly. Chris, supervised my car’s service and Johnny took care of my car. Hat’s off gentlemen, you have a new fan. Quick and painless! Thanks!

Scheduled apt for 12pm. Brought car at 11:50am. The car just needed to be checked if my bearing was OK on the drivers side. 20 min job. I came back to the shop at 2:07pm. THEY HAVEN’T EVEN STARTED WORKING ON IT… VERY HORRIBLE SERVICE. MANAGER – INCOMPETENT! says let’s reschedule. Are you serious???

They always, always, take longer than they say they will. 45 minutes turns into 2.5 hours.
Today I walked by the garage, saw it completely empty. Thought to myself, «perfect no wait.» Walked inside to the desk, and told him I needed an oil change. He responded by saying «we are completely booked up.» Booked up with not a soul in the garage???

Had a pretty bad experience there. The tech that worked on my car I was told was new and wasn’t up to par in some areas of the job so that’s why the things that happened happened. I went in for an oil change and was there for 8.5 hours and all said and done left with a new oil pan and the works but only had to pay for the oil change. The next day the manager called and apologized for what happened. Not sure if I’d go back again but was nice for them to call the next day.

Im sitting here at 355 after having a 2pm appt. They haven’t looked at the car for a used car eval. They overcommit work they can’t do. Ask for Pam.

My 82-​year old mother took her car in for a simple oil change. While there, they talked her into buying a $ 85 fuel system cleaning service and a $ 85 alignment. When I looked at her receipt I was shocked to see the add-​on services, especially the alignment since the before and after alignment settings which were attached to the receipt were exactly the same. In other words, they didn’t do anything. In addition, her tires had absolutely no signs of uneven wear, so they should never have recommended the alignment.
I took the receipt and my mothers car back to Sears and asked them why they recommended the alignment to my mother. The service agent named Pam gave me the run around for about one hour and kept saying over and over that «she signed the invoice which authorized the service». Never mind that they should have never recommended the service or that they didn’t change the settings. After arguing with Pam for about an hour, she finally gave me the name and phone number to the district manager — rather than calling the manager herself!
I called the district manager from my cell from the parking lot. To his credit, he immediately gave me a refund for the alignment.
Older customers beware! This is a classic case of taking advantage of people who don’t know much about cars.

Brought my wheels for them to mount on my car. After like 6 hours of waiting by the end of 6pm i took car home. In the morning front tire is flat, took it back and I told them that tire is licking, they said that they don’t fix run flat tires. So I took my car to fire stone to see what’s going ton with my tire, fire stone on mounted the wheel and told me that whoever was doing your wheels rip a tire bead. Plus who ever was minting the tire scratched my rim very bad. The lady in the office said that our mechanics are very experienced that they didn’t do that. Very des appointed in the service. Will never bring my cars to that place no more.

The service was great.!! Brought my car in, the guys and ladies at this sears auto are very honest and helpfull. I will always bring my car here. Great place for tune ups and brakes. Thank you Sears

Charged me more than what they said they would because they had to fix something more but never called to tell me it would cost more. After changing my oil and checking my tires my car would always veer to the right if I didn’t hold the steering wheel

I needed to change rack and pinion part on my VW Beetle, and my husband decided to go to Sears since we live very close. The car was dropped in the morning, and in the late afternoon we got a phone call that our car is ready. Very friendly and polite workers and fast service. By the way, I called to vw dealer in Auburn and asked how much would it cost, and they were not able to tell even approximate price because they said that first they need to diagnose the car first which costs over $ 100. If you need to repair or tune-​up your car, I would recommend you to go to Sears Auto Center.

Had been having problems starting the devilmobile — went to get gas at AM/​PM — went to leave and it wouldn’t start. Called DH — might as well have called Satan himself for help… Called AAA — tow truck showed up an hour later… Had him try to jumpstart before he towed. It started in 2 seconds — he recommended I go across the street to Sears since I had a DieHard battery.
Drove across the street — turned the devilmobile off (it then wouldn’t restart). The gal working couldn’t even get the battery to read on the tester, pulled out the BIG tester and it read «BAD BATTERY». They gave me no flax — installed new battery and a new tie-​down. Had to pay $ 28 total (I originally didn’t pay an installation fee…). More than happy with the service recieved and no eye-​rolling or «this isn’t covered by the lifetime warranty BECAUSE…(you fill in the blank)». Was back on the road 30 minutest later. My quick trip to get gas resulted in 2 hours of anxiety but Sears came through… THANK YOU!
