Cute farm tucked away in Fennville with great tastings! I was in town on vacation with my boyfriend and stumbled upon the farm store when driving the back roads. The first time we went there, we tried the samples and bought some of the cheeses. We went back further in the week again to get more and met the owners. They were freshly preparing the tomato goat cheese spread. It was amazing and creamy and worked wonderfully on my bagels at a reasonable price. I would recommend this place to anyone.

My wife and I stopped in last weekend to check out the selection of cheeses offered. We were delighted to find a small but tasty selection of goat and goat/cow’s milk cheese blends. The fresh Chevre was excellent and we also liked the Pyramid Pointe quite a bit. This is a real farm so dress appropriately and you will also get a chance to pet some goats.

Evergreen’s soft«Pyramid Pointe» goat cheese reminded me of my beloved Humboldt Fog cheese from Northern California — every bit as delicious and ripe, including the grey-blue streaks of ash. Can’t believe we can get it so close to our new home in Holland, MI. Tom the co-owner took my wife and I out back to the goat barn and we petted the little guys. How fun!

Found this gem at the farmhouse deli and enjoy it as our go to snack with anything. Love supporting local artisan food.

Wow! What a fantastic experience. Tom could not have been more friendly if he tried. He came in when we started tasting and he explained everything. The cheese was so delicious that we had to take a few types home. Tom even took us out to the barn to meet the goats, kids, horse, and barn cats. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area!

My wife and I love good cheese, we go to Pastoral in Chicago and Zingermans in Ann Arbor. I loved seeing the farm and we got to see the baby goats(and the big ones), but the highlight was tasting the cheese. The soft goat cheese is rich and flavorful. The Poets Tomme is a mild washed rind– divine. The other one, name I forget, was also wonderful. I doesn’t get better than this– this is world class cheese and we plan to go back.

I stopped by here to check out their cheeses and while I didn’t meet the owners personally I did take home some of the tastiest sun-dried tomato and garlic chevre I’ve ever had. Definitely worth stopping in, especially if you’re on a winery tour!

I read about Evergreen Lane when I was researching local cheesemongers and made a mental note to try and visit when I was on the west side next. I wasn’t sure what to expect – is it just a farm? Do they have a shop? Can you buy the cheese there or just at outlets around town? I wasn’t sure but I threw caution to the wind and just stopped over when I was in Fennville. I was greeted by a fella who was working at the farm. He informed me that the woman who owned it was out of town but she could sell me cheese when she returned the next day. DRAT! But, he asked me, would you like to see the goats? WOULD I!!! So I spent the next 20 minutes frolicking with the goats, many of whom where babies just born THATDAY. We had a love affair. They sucked my fingers, I took video and pictures. One adult licked my face. I saw a mama goat drop her placenta. Sounds gross but it was actually amazing. The miracle of kidbirth! It was getting late so I said goodbye to my goat friends and vowed to return the next day. Stopped by the next afternoon and the farmer/creamer(sorry, her name escapes me) was in. She gave us a full tour around the farm, pointed out the creamery(we were not able to enter since delicate cheese-making was in process) and told me what she had in her stock. I bought a few varieties including the creamiest, freshest, mildest chevre I’ve ever had. It was exquisite. I also got the Poet’s Tomme, a semi-soft cow’s milk cheese and a bit of the April Showers, another cow’s milk cheese. They were incredibly good. She knows her cheese for sure! In addition to the farm you can also get the cheese at local venues around town including Reserve Wine Bar in Grand Rapids and Salt of the Earth in Fennville. I am sincerely impressed by the kindness of the staff on the farm, the lovely animals and the delicious cheese. Can’t wait till next time when I can go frolic with the goats again!

We live in the area and had not noticed this tiny shop in a rural setting until the other day. We stopped by and were pleasantly surprised. Delicious! Unique and friendly. Very small operation. We will be returning… often.

Delicious, thoughtful, and bliss inspiring are words that describe my experience with Evergreen Lane Farm and Creamery. My all time favorite breakfast is a piece of toasted seedy salt bread(Salt of the Earth in Fennville) a poached egg, and a generous slice of pyramid point. I wish I was eating this as I type this review! Cathy knows each goats name, and temperament. The Poet’s Tomme is a delicious semi-hard cheese, and the rind is washed with poet’s stout from New Holland Brewing company. Support your local artisan creamery and buy some goat cheese today!(Disclaimer I worked here once a week in exchange for goat cheese)

I’m one half of a urban foodie couple that does things like stay at a B&B in South Haven for a long weekend. To get away from the pressures of the city because paying landscapers to mow my 2’x4’ piece of grass is über stressful. Anyway, this last Sunday we were between wineries when we saw the Creamery sign on 66th along with a large«Cheese» sign being erected over the smaller and less visible one. If you go too fast you will miss it. Do not miss it. Although Tom & Cathy were in the middle of doing chores and visiting with fellow organic farmers, they made us feel entirely welcome and comfortable on their porch while Cathy fetched us a cheese plate that knocked our socks off. Variations on goat, water buffalo, and cows milk were offered. Several of the goats were visible from the porch, hanging out in their pens as we ate their lovely work. No water buffalo though, thankfully. Cathy would duck back inside to continue making her magic while Tom explained how they were primarily an organic apple orchard in years past before shifting focus to the creamery. It was a lovely visit and we genuinely enjoyed their easy presence and general lack of pushiness. We bought three of the cheeses offered for $ 25. Enough for several cheese plates and that will go nicely with the fresh honeycomb we bought elsewhere and the local MI wines.
