This has been a great place. I heard they were closing, broke my heart. Breakfast was amazing and dinner wasn’t bad either. what’s the Dillio why are you closing?

I drove past on 09/18/2015 in the AM. The closed Sign was in the front window. Absolutely no cars around. Barring an unforeseen medical/family i think they have closed down.

Was a great down home Resturant. The staff was friendly and attentive. What the chef could do with pork, and anything else on his menu was well worth the trip. The salads were consistently fine and attractive. When we last went by we were very disappointed to learn that they are«permanently closed.»

Great place! Food is awesome and people are friendly. Try the pot roast-just like mom cooks. Country setting and fast large portions. We and all my Friends will be coming back for more!

Always a great meal and great service. Portions are huge. You won’t leave hungry. I had the 3 Little Pigs omelette with ham, bacon and sausage. The sausage was seasoned with sage and delicious. Pancakes were light and fluffy. My husband’s bagel sandwich was filled with sausage and cheese. Both were served with fried potatoes. Made it difficult to stick with my low carb diet!

I was pleasantly surprised with the Hambone café. A friend and I had breakfast here during the week. The restaurant is a family establishment, basic but comfortable. They offer a variety of traditions breakfast items, in any combination that you want. We each had eggs, bacon, potatoes with a bread option(besides toast they also have biscuits that are really good). I appreciated that they did a basic breakfast well. My eggs over medium were cooked correctly and not too greasy. The chucks of potato are fried and garlicky. The service is good as is the price.

When this place first opened, it was excellent. Over the past couple years, it has had its ups and downs. We had a couple past visits where the food quality wasn’t as good(when chef Dan wasn’t there) so we quit going back about a year ago. We just went back, and the food and service was excellent again. The pot roast is to die for! The macaroni and cheese is much improved from what I remember. Mashed potatoes are awesome. Rolls are delicious. My husband got the Pig Pile burger and said it was phenomenal. Portions are huge. The biggest complaint is the prices, hence the four stars. My, how they’ve gone up! Both of our meals were $ 15 meals. Can’t afford to go there too often, but once in a while it’s a great place for a good home cooked meal close to home.

I don’t usually review places but this joint is awesome. Owners are super friendly and fit us in even with us cutting it close to closing! No pictures of the amazing food cuz I ate it all! So much for my diet

Wow! Red beans with chunks o ham?! In Michigan. With corn bread. Felt like the south. Wifes turkey also the real deal. The lunch menu is served late into the day and is more than enough food Glad we got off the main roads This place rocks.

What a gem! We stopped here enroute to Ludington based on great reviews from our fellow Unilocalers. This tiny, cozy restaurant serves up hearty home cooked meals that are better than any chain on the planet. We started with crunchy, creamy coleslaw perfectly seasoned with celery seed. Oh my! The couple seated beside us had second helpings of the cole slaw & why not?! It was delicious. The husband had chopped steak stuffed with onions & mushrooms and a side of pinto beans with chopped ham. Perfect comfort food! I had the special — ½ chicken with 2 sides for $ 9.95. The chicken was moist & flavorful with a perfect crispy golden skin. I chose mashed potatoes — homemade, of course, with creamy pan gravy and Michigan vegetables — zucchini, tomato, yellow squash with garlic & Parmesan cheese again perfectly prepared. The service was warm & friendly making sure our coffee cup was never less than half full. We’ll be back for breakfast on our way back! Already looking forward to some ham on the bone!

Stopped here on the way back from vacation. Delicious! I had the ham and beans and they were awesome with the grilled cornbread. Hubby had the sliced filet and it was like a Manhattan. Small place with friendly staff. Would go again.

Such a great hidden gem! The quality of the food is wonderful as well the service. It’s a small place and you feel like you’re in someone’s home kitchen. The restaurant’s motto is «we feed you like family» and that’s exactly how you’ll feel. Tons of choices on a large menu. Make sure you stop in!

Wow. Hambone Café blew me away. Awesome homemade country cooking. Don’t miss the«Texas Tots,» homemade tots with chorizo and pepper jack. The Country Fried Steak is perfect, and so is the Pork Eye chop. Every dish we tried was fantastic. Judy keeps her guests entertained and well fed.

Came for breakfast. The best breakfast I’ve had in a LONG time. Prices are a touch high but the quality is top notch. I enjoyed the smoky and the bandit with an over medium egg. Yum! Fried potatoes are they way to go. Coffee was great. Especially at $ 1.79. Can’t wait to come back to enjoy lunch and dinner. Nice job chefs

So I am staying at Camp It, and came across this place. Gravel parking lot here, so I am thinking this is a dive. Well, when I opened the door, it is like Dorthy opening the door looking at Oz for the first time. I knew I was not in Michigan anymore. Dawn greeted us very friendly. My friends and I all got the same thing. We got a cup of cream of mushroom soup and the open faced beef sammy. The soup had a kick too it. It was very yummy. And, then the mound of food I got with my sammy. Homemade mashed potatoes, bread, a mountain of beef, all smothered in this delish gravey. Oh, my God. I am sooooooo full. I was done. But, no!!! Dawn was not having that. She grabbed my arm, twisted it, and made me order the peach cobbler. I begged and cried for mercy because I was so full. Dawn just smiled and told me to find the room. Ok, Dawn did not do or say any of that. I just saw the picture of the peach cobbler on Unilocal, and I had to have it. Now I can’t walk. The slogan that this Restraunt has is: We feed you like family. It is true. I can’t wait to come back.
