Okay now… SERIOUSLY, this guy can COOK some barbque! So I have had their barbque a couple of times… pulled pork, chicken quarters… but until this weekend I hadn’t had the beef brisket. OMG… SLAPYOURMAMACRAZYASSGOOD! Did you hear me??? Thank you Marion and your crew… your pulled pork is truly amazing but seriously, I am STOKED about this brisket! Keep up the good work man.

Tried the pork steak platter and my wife had the rib tips. Both were excellent, the pork steak was so tender I was able to eat with a plastic fork alone and the flavor was incredible. The rib tips were just as tender and flavorful. The price was very reasonable. The sides that came with the platter meals were adequate. I have recommended this place to my friends already.

OMG ! I don’t know how this guy does it! this is hands down the best bbq in the lou! we’ve had the pulled pork sandwich which if you get to go comes wrapped so you can make it home and it doesn’t get soggy. also had the ribs and they literally fall off the bone with no effort all the q is delicious tender and juicy. but you have to try the white chicken chili as a side. its seasonal so get it while its hot! beware though this is a trailer and only has picnic tables outside to sit on

This is BBQ. I love BBQ, and I wanted to take my in laws(from Colorado) to a bbq joint. We saw this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. To my surprise, there isn’t a building to eat in, just picnic tables. They took credit cards though and offered us a sample. After the impressive samples we decided to order up. We got the full ribs, half chicken, and rib tips. We also got cucumber salad, potato salad, BBQ beans, and coleslaw. After the meal I can say *THISISGREATBBQ* THISISDELICIOUS!!! I WILLBERETURNINGOFTEN. I normally do not use all caps.

Wow! What a surprise. He let us try the sides. We liked them all. Then I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. Then he let us try the pork steak. I thought wow, I should have got the pork steak. Then I had my sandwich and it was so good I didn’t feel I missed out on the steak so much. My wife and really loved this place. The guy was real nice too. We sat out on the picnic table which was fine.

Best BBQUEINSTL. We have been to all of the popular bbque restaurants and this is by far the best. If you are looking for an indoor fancy sit down than this is not the place. It is by a big pink elephant and really just a take out place. BUT it has tbe best pork steaks that I have ever had. Come here for the pork steaks and this will be your favorite place.

We live fairly close to this place and never stopped by… until someone stated it was the best BBQ they’ve ever had. So the challenge was on… was it truly the best? On my first visit I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. I can honestly say it melted in my mouth as the meat was THAT tender! We have now become loyal customers and have tried almost every item on the menu. Sure, the sides aren’t much to speak of(bulk items purchased from the grocery store) however, their white chicken chili is awesome! We are headed to Pick-A-Bone this evening for our usual meal of pulled pork and ribs then driving to KFC for their sides dishes. This has become our weekly ritual.

Please. someone actuay enjoyed this place? We were fooled into stopping and the place is a dump. As a matter of fact the place is sitting right next to a dump the hamburgers we had were from the grocery store mostly soy. There no napkins they had one little half of an onion cut up no sauerkraut for the bratwurst. one ketchup bottle had about a half inch of katch up and no one knows from how long ago.

Definitely the best BBQ in Jefferson county. The ribs, pulled pork and pork steaks are outstanding! I agree with some of the other reviews that their sides are not the greatest, not bad either just OK. But fuck it, the meat more than makes up for the sides.

As always, my star rating is relative to reasonable expectations for a restaurant of this type. Look for the white tent-top on the parking lot. There is a table if you want to eat there, which I do in nice weather. Great BBQ at a good price. I mostly get the ribs, but have also tried the tips and the pork steak when ribs were gone. Eat the pork steak with a fork, no knife required. Sides are, sides, but that’s not what I go for. Have not yet been disappointed and top of my list for quick, informal, inexpensive ribs.

I just stopped at Pick-A-Bone for the first time this afternoon, after church. All I can say is, why have I waited this long to try this place? A big full rack of pork ribs with an excellent rub and smoke with four sides for a touch more than I would pay for fast food for my wife and me and there is still some left over. I would recommend this place, but that might mean that there would be less for me to eat there. Honestly, one of the five best racks I have had to date! Fandiddlytastic!

I don’t understand how anyone can say this is good BBQ. The ribs are boiled that’s why they fall off the bone. The sauce is tomato paste or Aldi brand BBQ sauce at best no flavor. Even the brats were cheap tasteless meat. You can be fooled if you want but keep driving. $ 6.95 for that small portion for some tips save that money and put it in your gas tank since u are already at the gas station.

Great flavored smoked meat, but other than the excellent white chicken chili… the other sides leave me wanting more of the meat & chili was my impression of this BBQ pit tent with no seating next to a Pink Elephant & gas station. Two brothers were there running the business. The quality shows the guys really care about the smoked meat. Even the name emphasises the idea about knowing about real smoking because you are suppose to be able to pick bones & not have meat«fall of the bone».
I ate this two days in a row. The first day was the pulled pork & the amount & flavor was great. The cole slaw & beans both tasted store bought. The second day I ordered the St Louis tradition Pork Steak. BUT, this was not the traditional Pork Steak. This was a thick cut & smoked variety that had a personality unlike off a normal backyard BBQ grill. While I missed the seared grill flavor, the tenderness & smoke flavor of their version had me in awe of the skillz. I was able to pull the pork apart with a plastic fork yet was not overcooked. Again, I was highly impressed by the amount of meat for the price. I, myself, went to order for the second lunch. I am glad because I saw«white chicken chili». When I said something about it… The guy in an apologetic tone stated he knows that chili does not belong in a smoke house. However, he agreed to offer it because his wife won an award for it. SERIOUSLY, F tradition & get the chili. I, also, had the mustard based potato salad that visit & it was nothing great. The two brothers know smoking meat & saying yes when a wife is right. Now they need help with the other sides.

Great chicken, ribs, and burgers! Perfectly smoked so meat just falls off the bone. Tasty seasoning that tastes great with or without adding sauce! The sweet BBQ sauce is great(didn’t try spicy). Very affordable and very nice people running it! You can tell they take pride in their BBQ!

Best BBQ in Jefferson County, hands down. You have to catch them Thursday through Sunday– they close down at 7pm. They are in a tent outside the UGas near hwy 21 and 141. Ribs, enormous. Pork steaks — 1.5″ thick, smoked so tender they fall apart. Very reasonably priced, and way more food, and better quality BBQ than say, Bandanas — $ 9 for a pork steak platter with bread and 2 sides.
