Eher casual.

Great menu! Super nice staff, just a few teething Problems with promised GF menu not being available, popular egg breakfast dish sold out(for an all day brunch). And taking over an hour for the food to be delivered. The server was very apologetic, we had to take some food to go due to the wait, but the menu is so promising and the sourcing of the food is excellent. I’ll definitely return.

Recommended to us by Buddy the hotel clerk at the Ritz we came to this place. Nothing fancy wooden plank tables cute building just off what looks like the main strip of stores. Food was excellent waitress friendly with a southern accent and charm. We had spring rolls which I am not generally a huge fan of, but they were excellent. Wife got Cuban with sweet potato fries she was very happy. My burger was huge hard to bite but really good. House fries are mix of regular and sweet potato. Not sure what prices are for food around here but this was very reasonable. They brew their own beer here didn’t try it have to drive. If you are vacationing here like is definitely good place to stop at.

My favorite dinner spot on the island– and lunch! Food is consistently great and drinks as well. Love the mismatched antique chairs and local art. Food wise– I can’t stop ordering the Cuban sandwich– perfection!

Friendly service(seems to be a running theme throughout the area) and good, solid food. I had the pig and apple with sweet potato fries and hubby and a bowl of chili that came with cornbread. Both lunches were tasty and left us full without feeling overwhelmed. I would recommend for anyone in the area looking for a yummy, yet casual lunch.

We hit up this spot after the local 10k run. So excited to see gluten free bread on the menu! Had a spectacular sandwich — wish I lived closer to have it again. The outside patio was adorable, but it was too cold for us to enjoy(it was January and below 60). Would love to enjoy their outside digs in the future.

Food was good, but flies were everywhere. No anti insect candles were burning. The flies really took away from the experience. Service was a tsd slow but that would be ok if there were no flies. Otherwise we enjoyed it.

Fabulous suggestion from a friend and local while here on vacation! Had shrimp and grits, and crab dip apps. Both were excellent, but I’d get the dip again… and again… and again! Also got Mahi(crabcake on top) and scallops entrées, both excellent. Small leftovers to make OMG breakfast! A must-do while visiting!

Was desperate to eat a burger so I got one here. It was really good. Nice and juicy with solid bread. There were caramelized onions with it but they were cold and that was unexpected. The fries were good not great. Sweet potato fries were too soggy. My friend got the chicken wrap and didn’t love it. I would definitely come back for that burger!

The amelia island historical society had a luncheon function here two days ago. We ordered from a special menu. I can say that everyone at my table of 10 seemed to enjoy their meal… we were upstairs in the banquet room. I had a curry chicken wrap… The curry was mild and it tasted super fresh. The tortilla was spinach. the wraps were very generous in size. There was a scoup of homemade potato salad on the plate… it was 5 star. there is a lovely garden with tables on the 1st floor. well shaded. there was also a large shaded porch on the 2nd floor. I took a look at the main dining room… A lot of charm. The lunch menu had a lot of interesting wraps. The lunch prices mostly seemed to be 9 to 12. it seems to be worth a return visit… we had group service to it is difficult to rate the servers. The ones I encountered. we’re cheerful and focused. …I will be b ask soon.

Finally, after 5 ok meals on Amelia Island, we found the best restaurant there, Café Karibo. Brooke was an efficient, friendly and knowledgable server. Food was prepared perfectly and the prices were very reasonable. I had the flounder special and my wife had the best crab cakes she had ever eaten. Comfortable al fresco dining made this our most favorite restaurant of our vacation. Wish we we would have come here earlier

Café Karibo is a cute bistro tucked away off Centre St on North Third. The décor is a mismatch of different periods that all come together effortlessly. The patio is perfect for lunch on a sunny spring day. You really can’t go wrong with this off the wall bistro. I’ve been to Café Karibo twice and each time it’s been absolutely delicious. The vibe of the place is very hippy, relaxed, cool. The service is friendly and attentive My favorite thing on the menu is definitely the lentil salad. It’s so flavorful and filing. Overall this place is a great place to grab a meal after strolling through downtown Fernandina Beach!

I’ve been to Café Karibo a few times and therefore, a bit surprised when I realized I never wrote a review on this establishment. Our recent weekend trip to visit my sister and brother-in-law, we found ourselves looking for a nice relaxing lunch spot after a nice short walk at Fort Clinch. We remembered Café Karibo has this really nice outdoor seating and wanted to take advantage of the fabulous weather we had this weekend. We got there around 12:30PM and tho they were busy, we still were able to snatch a nice corner table in their patio seating area. I ordered a bowl of their soup of the day, which is a brothy seafood soup and their cheese burger. The soup was generous in size and amount of seafood. It was nicely flavored and very hearty. Hubby and I shared the soup, and even then, it filled me quite a bit that I could only finish half a burger when my entrée came. The burger was nice and juicy, grilled just right. Again, pretty big portion with generous amount of fries. My husband ordered a sandwich which he enjoyed very much. The outdoor atmosphere was very nice and laid back. Our server was very nice. The only minor complaint was the very confused and disinterested food runner that didn’t look like he wanted to be there at all. That was very minor and we still had a very enjoyable dining experience.

Fast, friendly, attentive service. Great sandwiches and salads. A nice choice off the main Center Street restaurants and worth it. Highly recommended. They have a brewery next door, but only served one beer the day we had lunch. Not being a stout fan, I skipped trying it.

This is a great little spot in Fernandina. The GPS led us to a side street off of Centre Street, not far from where the Shrimp Festival is held. We lucked out a was able to get a parking space right in front of the restaurant. We walked into the back patio and met some friends at a patio table, completely outside. When I say that I mean that there is no awning or covering over our heads, only the trees. Luckily it was a gorgeous day with a nice breeze blowing. I settled into my seat with a 10 spice mojito as gazed over the lunch menu. A friend ordered the Crabby con Queso for us to share, a cheese, corn, and crab dip with housemate tortilla chips. Those were very good. I ended up ordering the Big Bella, a portobello mushroom sandwich, but I substituted the potato salad with a soup made with celery and blue cheese. I swear I didn’t taste any celery in the soup but I didn’t care. That soup was excellent! The sandwich was very good but the ciabatta bread may be too much for it. It was a lot of bread for its contents. I still ate it all. Our waitress asked us afterwards if we wanted dessert. I didn’t think they had any since it wasn’t listed online. One of my friends recommended the strawberry cake. Hmm that sounded good. I split a piece with a friend. It was just ok. It tasted like a box cake mix cake. My friend didn’t like it at all. I definitely would like to come back for dinner if I’m in the area. The atmosphere was wonderful.

One of the best dinners I’ve had in a LONG time! We stumbled upon this place thanks to the recommendation of a bartender in the area. We were pleased to find that Café Karibo not only offers great food options but also is brewing their own cider… including a fireball one(yes fireball!). On this particular night we decided to split the Ahi Tuna appetizer and Smoked Salmon appetizer. The tuna stole the show right off the bat. For my entrée I had the Shrimp & Grits. They were good but different that the Shrimp & Grits I’m used to. Not in a bad way though. I would still recommend them, especially if you like Shrimp & Grits. After we ate you would think we would opt for dessert all considering, but no, we continued to discuss how awesome the tuna app was and our waitress mentioned that one of the dinner specials we had quickly passed over while she described them was a larger portion of the app we had loved so much. We didn’t even consider it b/c we were already getting the app portion, but after knowing how good it was, we decided to order it anyways… as our dessert, lol. For $ 15 we got a HUGE portion of Blackened Ahi Tuna served in a crispy shell with an amazing slaw. It was absolutely amazing! I honestly didn’t think it could be any better than the app but boy was I wrong. I could easily order this dinner again and again it’s that good. We will definitely be back and if you’re in the area and don’t stop here, you are missing out!
