This was our first time in. Very clean. Friendly and efficient staff. Triple crown was awesome! We will be back!

Really good food. We ate here yesyetday. This is the best we’ve found in Bellingham area. I enjoyed the hot and sour soup. not so much the egg drop. The Mongolian beef was tasty as was the Kung pao chicken. Going back again today.

We love the owners and operators. So family oriented, great for big groups, fair pricing, and delicious food. Highly recommend Honey Walnuts dish, Deluxe Veggie dish, and Mongolian beef. Never been unhappy with any dish for years.

The other night, with rumbling tummies, my whole fam packed into the car and we went in search of Asian cuisine in Ferndale. Asian Bistro was open, so in we went! The restaurant has obviously switched hands in the 10+ years since I’ve been here, and décor has been updated. I believe it used to be Thai food. Either way, I was happy to see it was bright, clean, and cheery inside. Service was excellent. Our waitress was friendly, happy, kind to my kids, and helpful with suggestions. Despite handling quite a few tables(and take out orders) on her own, drinks were prompt, food came out fast, and she wasn’t stressing at all. My son ordered Beef Teriyaki, my husband and I both went for the large dinner special, and my daughter simply wanted a large bowl of egg drop soup. Our dinner special came with a cup of soup, two«sides»(egg roll, pot stickers, bbq pork, or crab rangoon), an entrée, and cup of steamed or fried rice. Tons of food for 12.99! Husband went with General Tso as his entrée and I went with Mongolian Beef(on recommendation from a past Unilocaler!) The Generals was a little sweet for me, pretty Americanized, but it was still yummy and it hit the spot. The Mongolian Beef, however, was a joy and we all ended up finishing that plate off first. My son LOVED his teriyaki beef. Again, a bit too sweet for my tastes, but he was completely happy and the portions were generous so he had a takeout lunch for the next day. My daughters«bowl» of egg flower was more like a mixing bowl! HUGE portion that she was unable to finish, but we’re not complaining, it was a fantastic value. Although we enjoyed dining in, we will most often be ordering Asian Bistro to go from now on, simply because we really enjoy eating at home, but I give them two thumbs up both on our meal, and the service! We will be back!

How I heard of this place: My friend Leslie introduced me to the Asian Bistro when we met up for lunch on a lovely, Bellingham, summer day. When I arrived at her work-place, Leslie said she was craving Chinese food and knew just the place. Type of cuisine: Chinese with samples from Thailand and Southeast Asia. The menu boasts«Oriental Food — We are different! Oriental Pasta — We are the best!» Posted on Unilocal!by a fellow diner: «This family-owned Chinese restaurant is a refreshing departure from the uniform mediocrity of most Chinese restaurants. This food is definitely more individualized than cookie cutter — and the service that the family lavishes on their guests is heart-felt and pleasant. Their wonton soup is delightful with large fresh-cut vegetables and a delicate stock… Besides Chinese and Thai food, Asian Bistro has some interesting and original dishes on the menu; for example, although I was tempted, I wasn’t brave enough to try the Kung Pao Spaghetti. Perhaps next time.» Ambiance: A strip-mall setting welcomes patrons through the doors of Asian Bistro. An open, square-shaped floor plan with floor-to-ceiling windows lining two sides of the establishment, natural daylight streams through and onto our table. Booths, as well and chair & table seating are available alongside the windows, with tables and chairs available in the center of the restaurant for more busy lunch hours. The staff and owners are friendly, recognizing Leslie immediately, and asking her about a friend of hers(by name). Our female server is always smiling, offering recommendations to the menu with popular items and those that she prefers, while ensuring that everyone entering through the doors is warmly greeted, quickly seated and offered tea and water without hesitation. What I ordered: At both the recommendation of my dining companion and the server/owner, we each selected the Mongolian Beef($ 6.35 each) off of the Luncheon Special Combination menu, served with egg drop or hot & sour soup, and steamed or fried rice. What I loved: The beef was, by far, the most flavorful and delicious Mongolian beef I have tried to date. The fried rice was a bit dry, but the sweet and slightly spicy juices of the beef gave it the flavor it was meant to have. Why I loved it: The service is friendly, the food good and the proximity to Leslie’s office unequaled. Cost: Low($ 5.75 — $ 6.85 per lunch combination special)

I should have known when the place was full of white people and NO Asians that this was a bad idea. This was the most bland boring Chinese food I have ever had the misfortune of eating. I’m Chinese and I eat a lot of it. The only good thing was the Egg Drop Soup. I could tell this family works really hard and I’m glad they have a lot of white customers that don’t know what Chinese food is supposed to taste like — so at least they will stay in business. I’m sorry the people of Ferndale think this is a good representation, but they seem happy in their ignorance, so be it.

Asian Bistro is unbeatable. Absolutely delicious food, everything fresh, and so many selections it is hard to choose. We would give it six stars if asked!

Asian Bistro is our favorite restaurant. The most fantastic food, service, and the whole package. We have been going there for 4 years and never once have we been disappointed! We can’t say that about any other restaurant. Huge variety of dishes, fast service, clean and friendly, and the portions are generous. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We were hesitant to try this little place because I think years back it might have been owned by someone else and the food wasn’t that great. However, we heard from enough people that said they enjoyed the food so we gave it a shot. It was very tasty and the service was excellent. They have a beautiful sit down restaurant but can also do take-out. I also loved the variety of Asian food they had since we have a variety of tastes in our family.

Fresh, flavorfull food and fast, friendly service! Asian Bistro is tops! The hot and sour soup is my favorite starter; deliciously tangy and hearty. On this visit we ordered the Red Curry Chicken, Triple Crown, Mongolian Beef and Pad Thai-(you can specify the heat on all these except the Triple Crown. 3 *** is about as spicy as we like it.) All the dishes were exceptional. I especially enjoyed the Curry and Pad Thai! The portions were large so we ended up taking home quite a bit. This place is about as good as it gets!

Our family goes here at least once a week for the lunch specials. You get more than you can eat and the family that runs the place is priceless. Heartilly reccomended!

This family-owned Chinese restaurant is a refreshing departure from the uniform mediocrity of most Chinese restaurants. This food is definitely more individualized than cookie cutter — and the service that the family lavishes on their guests is heart-felt and pleasant. Their wonton soup is delightful with large fresh-cut vegetables and a delicate stock. I tried both their Schezwan and Kung Pao chicken dishes. Both had good-sized juicy portions of chicken and fresh vegetables. The sauces used in both were great but I personally preferred the Kung Pao. Besides Chinese and Thai food, Asian Bistro has some interesting and original dishes on the menu; for example, although I was tempted, I wasn’t brave enough to try the Kung Pao Spaghetti. Perhaps next time.
