What a great experience, first time in this restaurant in over 15 years, but I will be back soon. I didn’t know what to think when I drove up, I was not ever sure if the restaurant was open due to their being no cars on the parking lot. I ventured in to discover that yes indeed they were open, and I was the only customer in the place. At first I was a bit concerned being the only person in a restaurant at lunch time, but I was very impressed. The waitress who took my order was very friendly, and very attentive. The food was fresh and more than I could(or should) eat for lunch. I ordered the lunch special with 2 entrees, the almond chicken, and the mongolian beef for $ 8.50. I had a choice of Hot and Sour soup or egg flower. The meal was served with a noodle side, and fried rice. The hot and source soup was great, it had good flavor, and you could actually taste the meat in it. The mongolian beef and the almond chicken were great. They were prepared fresh, and didn’t have that«just of of the warming tray» taste. The tea was included free, in fact the tea was served as soon as I sat down. This was a nice change from other places lately, free tea. The total bill was under $ 10 for lunch which seems like a good value. Authentic… Its authentic Americanized Chinese food. Will I go back? Absolutely. What would I change? I would order one of the smaller lunches, as this was a lot of food.

The food was okay. The décor is nice, but could use some repairs. Service was reasonable. Very average experience.

I’m new to Unilocal so this review is Long Overdue! This is the only Chinese Restaurant my family will go to! We have been coming here for over 20 years! Many of the same, friendly staff are still there. For starters, free hot tea, with your own teeny ceramic cups & a teapot for the table. At the end of your meal, tasty fortune cookies & freshly cut oranges already segmented so you just eat ‘em with a toothpick! When I go in, they already know what I order… Mongolian Beef with extra carrots & added broccoli! It’s amazing & a massive order, comes with rice as well. I always leave with a full to go container that I take home to eat later. Yum! Recently I have tried the Salt & Pepper Prawns, you get around 18 of them!!! That’s crazy generous! I like a bit of sweet & sour sauce to dip my shrimp in.(which the Don’t charge extra for) The amount of food you get for the price is truly a great value! Especially the Lunch Specials, great deals! The Only negative thing I will say is that they charge $ 2.00 for a Can of Coke! I have paid it a few times but I’d rather not. You could always swing by Walmart(they share a parking lot) & grab a can at their outside vending machine. Lol Deco hasn’t been changed, ever. I think they prefer to concentrate on the delicious food! Hey, I have no problem with that! Booths are comfy & have high backs, I like that. They have a huge open room in the back that can be reserved for family birthdays & such! Which is hard to find for a family as big as ours. I urge you to try China Palace, you won’t regret it!

I may or may not come back. That’s what 3 stars means to me. The food was good. It was hot and freshly made. The service was fine, especially since there was only one lady working to dinner shift. I was glad the portions were enormous for the price. I had a dinner special, it had 3 smaller entrées, rice and came with soup. It was$ 11.50, my wife’s(non special) plate came with the same amount of food for $ 10.50. There’s definitely enough if your hungry, or like Chinese food leftovers. Only good complaint was that the honey walnut chicken had too much sauce(mayo and honey I think), and the dough on pot stickers was 5% under cooked. The décor is a bit out dated and needs to be dusted. The outside of the building needs some TLC, and it’s a bit hard to access because of a barrier on Meridian St. You can only access easily North bound, south bound you have to turn at the light and go through the superstore parking lot to get to the restaurant.

I am not a Chinese food snob or connoisseur so I can’t speak to its authenticity, but I was pleasantly surprised at the generous portions at reasonable prices. The chow mein(with crunchy noodles) was delicious and made with very fresh celery and cabbage. The sweet and sour chicken was fried crisp with ample sauce. I’d give both of those dishes five stars. The service was fast and friendly. The lower rating is only because the fried rice was lacking. It was not bad, just bland. With a little added soy sauce, it was ok, but next time I would probably skip it and opt for another dish. We all enjoyed our dinner, overall, though!

Bland food. Completely dry and tasteless. Insult to American-Chinese food. I swear, this place must be a front for some type of shady triad operation near the Canadian border.

This place FUCKINGSUCKS! I usually give a place two tries, but this place doesn’t get the second one. The food didn’t taste all too good; the service was complete sh! t! and it was definitely overpriced for the garbage they’re serving! We ordered the fried cheese wontons, a kids peperoni pizza, sweet & sour pork, gen tso chicken and replaced their steamed rice with fried rice. The wontons had no cheese left in them since they looked like they opened up while frying. They were super saturated with oil, but they served them anyway. The kids pizza came out of a fucking microwave! A MICROWAVE! Not even a real oven. Their meats are all somewhat generically breaded and fried and only change flavor with the different sauces they have depending on what you order. With that being said, both the sweet & sour pork and the general tso chicken looked and almost tasted exactly alike, except for the sauces. The fried rice wasn’t fried rice! How do you fuck up fried rice!!! Put the rice in a pan and fry that shit! But they had nice looking lamps. That’s about the only nice thing I can say. In summary, fuck this place! I’m never eating here again!!!

I am shocked and amazed there isn’t more reviews for this place… i understand you are not super Unilocalish(yet) in Bellingham but really? There isn’t a place in town that tastes more like home than the ol CP. I thought on my recent trip that maybe it’s because I have nostalgic memories clouding my palate, but noooo… the chow mien was as amazing as always, tasting the same as it always has for the past 15 years. The(free!) tea is perfection, the almond chicken was exactly what I wanted, with generous sliced almond pieces! I’ve literally ordered a «#4» here all my life! Fried rice, chow mein, almond chicken, and sweet & sour chicken. Mom and I were there together and we ordered that combo and split it.11 $ and more than enough food for us both. I have no idea how authentic it is, it’s just what I always want when I want Chinese, and no where else seems to make me as happy. The servers have been there for years, the oranges and fortune cookies afterwards are a good luck family tradition!

China Palace is a really nicely decorated restaurant, It really makes it seem like it’s Chinese. They have really good family style deals where we had 5 – 6 plates of food for just 13 – 14 dollars for just 3 of us and it was a very huge dinner. The servings were really generous and was worth your money. But food on the other hand is not exactly authentic Chinese food, but more like panda express food to me. There are some dishes that they pull off really well but the restaurant is a bit Americanized so Don’t consider it traditional authentic Chinese food. What i loved best was they had a Chinese horoscope paper on the tables so you can read what is your horoscope when you are waiting for your food.

This is our favorite chinese restaurant in Bellingham. The food is consistent, meaning if you order szechuan beef every time you come in, it will be exactly the same each time. We also like that they give you a ton of food. Now that being said, I would say that the food is not authentic chinese but it is good. It is your average americanized chinese food. It is our favorite because it’s good, it’s consistant, the service is great, you get a lot of leftovers and the price is very reasonable.
