Their food truck is located across the street from my office in the 2300 block on West Bakerview. My employees and I frequent their regularly. I like their enchilada. Their vegetables are crisp and fresh!

I have only been to the food truck that is parked on West Bakerview near the RV Park, but I have eaten there many times. It was still being parked there at the time of this writing, but may not be there in the future. Overall El Tapatio has greatly satisfied my taste buds. Their veggie burrito might be the best I have ever tasted. I typically get either that or a Pambazo with steak. I recommend either to anyone who is looking for a tasty and relatively inexpensive meal. The food is cooked fresh and fast and they have a decent variety of drinks and sides. There are a couple minor downsides. The food truck(or food trailer I guess) they use out on West Bakerview might be the most poorly maintained food truck I have ever seen. It is falling apart. Also the lady who runs the truck most typically is not the rudest person I have ever met, but she could do with being a little friendlier at times. But the food and prices are good enough that neither of these stop me from coming! The location on West Bakerview is very good for people travelling who stop at the gas stations nearby, people staying at the nearby hotel, or workers from the airport and surrounding businesses.

This is for the food truck not the restaurant. The sopas are wonderful. I will now definitely be trying out the restaurant. The service was also friendly and fast.

Alright… Here it is. Being from California originally, I love Mexican food. I mean, we have the best Taquerias ever! Now that I am staying up in Beautiful British Columbia, it’s pretty tough to find some authentic Taquerias out here. So, here I am in Bellingham Washington on one of my weekly trips, and here goes El Tapatio like«HAAAAAAAAAAAA» Of course I am going to try it, so I do, and YUM! I ordered a Carnitas Burrito with no beans(to share with my little Man) and 8 Carne Asada Tacos for my Hubbie, and boy were we happy campers! $ 1.50 for the tacos(choice of meat, fish or vegetarian) $ 5 for a burrito They also have: Tamales, Sanwiches, Chile Relleno, etc. Awesome food, great price, just what I was looking for…

Wow… what a disappointment. Something has happened here and I’m not sure if the owner(who seems to be absent every weekend) knows that the food is not being prepared properly. Some things still killer like the tacos, chile colorado, burritos. But some of the other things are full of oil & grease!!! Swimming in it. So I will see if I can have a word with the owner this week will keep you updated

Sorry in advance for not knowing the names of Mexican food… We went on Saturday evening, around 6:30, and left around 8pm. There was one other set of customers when we got there, but no one else came… From the other reviews, I’m guessing they make most of their money at lunch. The free tortilla chips and salsa bar was neat. They had a few each of mild, medium, hot, and one«not spicey». I mixed the«not spicey» tomato/onion/cilantro mixture with one of the spicier salsas, and that worked for me. My husband loved one of the mild green things(said it was like a spicier version of a Russian sauerkraut soup) and was pretty much drinking it: P I got a sandwich that was described as «…on marinated bread» and had avocado and shredded cabbage in it(I don’t remember what else). I picked shredded pork for my meat. It was yummy! The bread was red on the outside, and grilled. I asked for my jalapenos on the side, since I’m a spice wimp:
Comments from other members of my party: + goat meat was good. + enchilada was good. — a very thin steak-type beef was too dry and tough(he picked it for his meat for a platter and tortillas that looked like wrap-your-own-burrito) They were all filling. Only at the very end, when we went to pay at the cashier, I noticed a sign for«Flan, Churros,(one more thing I didn’t recognize)». I wish I could have had churros! I love those things. On the TV was a soccer game in Spanish(a Mexican team vs. a Brazilian team). Cool. All I know about Mexican restaurants is that I usually like the less spicy versions, that it’s usually cheaper, and that they have Jarritos and Corona. This restaurant was good on those three counts. But décor– and atmosphere-wise, personality was nonexistent. Service was enough, but nothing endearing.

Went here on a friday, it was a cold night when we actually had some snow so maybe that was why there was only one other couple in the restaurant. The t.v. was on blaring loudly some hispanic station and we were immediately seated in a booth. I ordered two chicken tacos and a chile relleno. My husband ordered a carnitas taco and chicken flautas. They have a few beers in their beverage refrigerator, i had a pacifico. About 1 min after we ordered we could hear the food being microwaved. It took about 3 – 4 min before we had everything at our table. The shredded chicken was nice, the corn tortillas were generic store-bought. The chile relleno was delicious, the cheese tasted homemade, but it was lacking more sauce. It also did not seem very fresh, like it was microwaved, which kind of ruined the crispy breading on the chile. The chicken flautas on the other hand were big, and crunchy, filled with the shredded chicken i mentioned earlier. My husband had no complaints about his taco either. Our waitress sat about 3 feet away from us at a table watching the loud tv while we ate. We tried a few of their salsas from the salsa bar, the cups you put the salsa in are tiny like ketchup cups, it would serve them well to get bigger dishes for that. I would also like to see some other hot sauce on the table to choose from. Overall i would say this place is good, but i wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here. It would be nice if they had some more beer to choose from or even sangria.

I went back here a second time, and while it’s still definitely the best place Mexican in Bellingham, I may have overstated how good it is. It’s still worth a 5, given that it’s the best around, but the service was not as good and they overcharged for our food. Still, the best Mexican place around which certainly warrants a five in my book.

The service here is really, really awkward. They were nice and pleasant but really did not know what they were doing. I ordered four tacos. Two lengua(tongue meat) one carnitas, and one cheek meat. The carnitas was pretty good but the lengua was overcooked and fatty. Overall, the food is authentic and cheap but hit or miss.

I visited their truck outside of a gas station on Meridian, had 2 carne asada tacos and a pineapple Jarritos, all for $ 4.50! The tacos were delicious, tender steak, generous portions of cilantro and chopped white onions on top. Tasty, though small, fresh white corn tortillas, doubled under the heap of meat, cilantro and onions. YYYUUUMMMMM. 4 stars because I only tried one thing… so I can only speak for the carne asada tacos.
