What more can I say than fantastic! Owner is one of the friendliest people around. While the number of choices can be intimidating, the owner will talk you through what you like and direct you to a great sandwich. It’s the personal touch that outs this place over the top!

First stop on our way from the airport to Seattle. My boyfriend and I split the Central Park and a side of Sour Cream Potato Salad. Although it was not the best pastrami I’ve ever had, it absolutely melts in your mouth. The marble rye bread was the star of the entire meal. I’ve never had better. Service was absolutely fantastic. Very friendly and family owned. HIGHLY recommend to anyone craving a good sammich.

This place is seriously incredible! We were greeted with the most courteous service as soon as we walked in. We heard nothing but good things, and the name isn’t just a name the place is covered in fdny and nypd memorabilia. The amount of respect that New York has for their firefighters and police is no joke, and I love it. The colorful menu is jammed packed with incredible sandwiches that made it hard to decide because they all looked so damn good! They helped break it down for us right away which was really nice and made my decision a lot easier. You don’t get that kind of service at subway. Speaking of which, they explained that they only heat the meat and cheese of your sandwich instead of everything like your avocado, lettuce, and all the other parts you don’t want warm. My wife got the chicken avocado and I hate a bite – incredible! I went with the«club met» and it was honestly one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. A lot of sandwiches are named after historical landmarks from New York City which is another cool touch. Basically this place is awesome, go and check it out! The owners are incredibly nice people, and run a top notch business here in Bellingham.

Great food, but the service made the experience worth coming back! The Godzilla sandwich was amazing and the soup was so good we got some to go to have back at the hotel.

My favorite sandwich shop. Owners are so friendly, its so clean inside, there’s such variety, and the sandwiches are HUGE! Great décor, just overall a great restaurant. Always makes me want to watch 80’s movies due to the classic New York decorations though. I consider that a plus.

Owners are masters of customer service. Extremely personable, come around and ask how everything is going, and just seem like they’re having a great day. They’ve obviously got some regulars as I saw one of them talking to plenty of customers by name. Meatball sub was good. Had more cheese than I’m used to, but it just made it feel like a different kind of meatball sub. Wish I was hungry enough to be able to eat the whole thing(got a whole, it’s enough for two). For the drive from Seattle to Vancouver this will be a new stop.

Delicious sandwiches! Had the Reuben and my colleague had the Taxi Driver. We both had the Gumbo soup. The meats were fantastic and the soup was delicious. If you don’t know what to get from their extensive menu, you’ll be sure to get great advice from the owner!!!

Come for the sandwiches and selections, stay longer for the exceptional service. Michael is the owner of this shop and he knows his menu like a chemist knows the periodic table. There is something for everyone – even the vegetarian sandwiches sound yummy. Hot or cold, half or whole, and the side salads are fresh. Best of all, you are getting someone who I believe is a genuine person who wants you to have an honest experience with his food and his company. I had the Throgg Neck Bridge chicken sandwich halfer, and its flavor and quality of breaded chicken breast, cheddar, spicy mayo, avocado, and veggies combined is already sinking other shops down the favorite list. I would definitely come back adventuring for more. The broccoli salad can be underestimated but one bite would change your mind with its similar coleslaw recipe(note that it does have bacon as an ingredient). Try the dessert cookie squares too, because they got the right chewy consistency. I’ve never had someone at a sandwich shop come out of the front counter to socialize with his guests when he’s not busy. I don’t think I’ve ever received such hospitality before at a sandwich shop. But if someone asked me for advice on running one, I am pointing them towards this place. I’m impressed, I had to grab a photo with Michael to post up.

Good deli, always consistent service and exponentially bwtter than going to subway. I LOVE the couple who own the place, went there once last month and again yesterday for lunch… and they remembered me and hubby, what we had and that we were from out of town. Customer service here is awesome. Food here is great. They have a lot of local goods in the deli that make it a true gem. I love the bread they use for the sandwiches. This place is also vegetarian friendly which is awesome. The only down side was the amount of mayo/dressing used on the sandwich. Also, I wish the portion sizes were a bit smaller because the 6″ is enough for 2 meals!

Great food friendly owners. The knuckle sandwich is my favorite, that being said, I stopped in to have my favorite and stood at the counter 6 full minutes, the girl in the back looked out the kitchen after 2 min. Another min. passed the owner looked out while I waited. All this time the lady part of the ownership talked with a patron, after standing there 6 min. without a can I help you I walked out an went across the street to Arby’s, that was 4months ago and haven’t been back.

Wow! This place made me feel like I was back in the mid west, ordering food from the corner deli where I grew up in Italian country! Everything was amazing and priced great for what you are getting. I can’t wait for my family to visit so I can take them here and show them that Bellingham can do at least a little bit of Italian food justice!

Good god. Gandolfos has a secure place in my heart. Let me start by saying this place is impeccably clean, sticks to its«New York» theme so perfectly, and is owned by the nicest couple I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. They are so cute and so nice — it’s so refreshing to come to a place and meet people who really love what they do. The menu is a little bit overwhelming. Luckily I was with friends and they helped me maneuver it! I ended up getting the«I Love New York» with a side of the sour cream potato salad. The I Love New York has corned beef, swiss, and spicy mustard. All sandwiches come with a pickle(mmm) and you have the option to make your sandwich deli style(extra meat). I’m bummed I forgot to do that, but even without doing so, I had a ton of corned beef! The I Love New York was AMAZING. Make sure that you note that you can order a half of a sandwich — I ordered a full and only finished half. All sandwiches are made to order, so expect a bit of a wait. Eating the sour cream potato salad is almost like having a religious experience. It’s that good. It’s loaded with bacon and green onions too… It’s amazing. Best potato salad I’ve ever had. I’m white, and we all know white people love their potato salad, so. You can take my word for it. The only downside to this amazing Bellingham sandwich shop is the price. I paid $ 30 after tax and tip for two sandwiches, one side of potato salad, and one drink. Is it worth it? Totally — but I still think it’s a tad overpriced.

Love Gandolfo’s! A wide variety of creative sandwiches, something for everyone here. The owners are super friendly and love to chat. I just wish they had breakfast hours to go with their breakfast menu.

New York class without the sass! This upscale deli located in a strip mall near Walmart and Costco is an unexpected find. As soon as you open the door, you are transported to another place with its hardwood floors and wood panneled booths. Singles can sit at a counter next to the window overlooking the parking lot. Groups can sit at the wooden tables or cushy booths. There is even outdoor patio seating available on chic, wrought iron, garden tables and chairs, unfortunatley the view outside doesn’t come with a garden. Hanging over the deli counter is a large placard where menu items are grouped by meats. Find the meat item you are interested in eating, and listed under it will be 5 – 6 different types of cold or hot sandwich types featuring that meat. Most sandwiches are served on a soft hoagie bread that can be served as a footlong or 6 inch. There is also the choice of sourdough sliced bread for a few featured sandwiches. In the deli case, you will find an intriguing selection of side salads. Of course the well known potato salad and mac salads are there, but there is also a unique broccoli salad. The server offered me a sample of the latter, which I ended up ordering and loving because of its sweet and crunchy flavor/texture combo. Be sure to pick up a punch card because you will most certainly be back to woof down another one of their sandwiches. I tried the Brampton that had just the right mix of turkey, bacon, avocado, mayo and cheese on a soft 6 inch hoagie bun. I’ve been told the Rueben is a popular choice, but I’m already eyeing the Knuckle sandwich for my return trip. By the way, this place opens at 10AM and serves breakfast as well as sandwiches all day long. They take American Express. There are a few cramped parking spaces out front that I imagine get quite busy during the lunch hour. Get a combo meal for $ 2.99 extra and you can have a drink in addition to a choice of chips or a side salad along with your sandwich. Meals here will easily cost you $ 10 – 15, but your chops will be telling you it’s worth it.

I feel like I swallowed a bowling ball. Not because of the size of the sandwich, but because of the sheer amount of grease. I know, one shouldn’t expect deli food to be healthy, but there is a difference between being agnostic towards healthy food and being actively malicious. Also the whole fake New York schtick is way, way, way overdone. I know this is a chain but it felt like my face was being rubbed in it. This isn’t good deli, and they are mediocre sandwiches at best.

Great find my Unilocal buds thanks. Love the Pastrami and also the dagwood, and the new yorker dang the ate all good. Even the sides are worth your attention, so come in hungry don’t let the dagwood fool you it’s a half but fill you like a whole. So don’t be shy, order the big combos and a drink and forget about dinner later. Great for a first date see how much she can eat, don’t tell her about the lettice in her teeth that way see if she can laugh later

Great sandwiches and even better service. Have visited on two occasions while down for the day in Bellingham. The location is a bit off the beaten path, but is close to Best Buy, Bevmo and Big 5 Sports just off the Guide Meridian. Servers are really welcoming and patient, happy to offer suggestions. These sandwiches cost more than Subway or Quiznos but they truly put their competitors to shame. Well worth the money, and well worth a trip down south for! Plenty of seating to choose from and there were also a couple TVs to keep customers patient. The seating area was immaculately clean and the other clientele reasonably quiet and well behaved — usually a sign that the food is that good! I believe I sat in their booths on both visits and my order came out within 10 – 15 minutes — right when the doctor ordered it! NB they close reasonably early — 8pm on most days.

I was hanging out with my staff in Bellingham an we were getting Hungry. I asked the team where a good place to order a sandwich and without hesitation they said Gandolfo’s New York Deli. I looked it up Unilocal and printed out the menu. Everyone chose their sandwiches and I called. Tina answered and was super friendly and was extremely accommodating. I asked her if they delivered and she stated that they did not. I guess my 3 sandwiches was not worthy of delivery. :) I was ok with it since my order wasn’t over $ 300.00. Tina matched my personality really well. I was very goofy this day and she was throwing back everything I was giving. When I arrived, Tina just about greeted me with open arms. My eyes instantly were drawn to the MASSIVE menu. Any Sandwich you can think of, they had. The sandwiches and service were impeccable. I would highly recommend this place and say hi to Tina. She is awesome.
