I first met Burkey, the one-man-project responsible for FourChamberForge, at the DIY Fair, and low and behold! There he was at the Rust Belt Market! Apparently he’s there every other Saturday until November — then it will be every Saturday. May want to call ahead and ask if you’re driving from long distances. Don’t be alarmed by the densely populated table of wood — each ring, pair of earrings, or necklace is 100% unique and comes from recycled/rescued urban trees. So each piece also has a story(like the tree that fell on his house) and a location. Michigan, represent. The rings go for $ 25 and are worth every penny. They are sturdy and gorgeously ‘rustic’ while still being artful and elegant. He makes them in a variety of sizes. The larger necklace pieces run $ 60 a pop(please don’t buy the one I’m lusting after! I’m just waiting for my next paycheck…). He tells me he can also do custom orders of plugs(for the ol’ earlobe stretchers out there) but he doesn’t have any in stock(since everyone wants different sizes in a different look). His site has stunning photographs of his collections and gives you an idea of his range of work. And the mood it can set. He also does furniture, culinary tools, and leatherwork, oh my. If you want some amazing, one-of-a-kind natural bling, get thee here.
