I went to the website to try and order contact lenses. Their website said my contact lens prescription needs to be faxed or scanned and emailed to them. Since I don’t have a scanner, I emailed customer support to find out if a jpeg photo of the prescription was acceptable. I got a software generated automated response that repeated the website’s instructions which don’t specify whether a photo can be substituted for a scan. Thus we see that VisionDirect makes ordering contact lenses confusing and fustrating. I ended up getting my lenses from a Canadian company that didn’t subject me to these hassels nor did they have complex discount codes you need to know about in order to get a good price.

Being blind as a proverbial bat(since the fourth grade), I’ve had plenty of experience with eye exams, glasses, and contacts. Even had a bout with a strange eye allergy to my own proteins that threatened to expel me from«Contact Lens Paradise» and back into the cold, cold world of glasses. Of course, as a gay man, this was unacceptable(to my vanity) and desperate measures were called for. * This review is for their internet business which has this physical address listed as the return address on my order box. Having learned that I can order prescription refills on my contact lenses within a 1-year period of my last eye exam, I’ve taken to saving some cash by going with 1−800-Contacts(I’ll refer to them as the«market leader»). But, in our capitalistic society, I found Vision Direct through a web survey site and thought I’d take a gander at their prices. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right? Turns out that their normal pricing on a one-year supply of O2 Optix lenses was $ 20 less than the market leader. With an added discount code, I saved $ 12 more for a total of $ 32 on the original gross of $ 159.92. Translates to a 20% discount including the shipping charge of $ 1.99. The order was delivered within 5 calendar days of placing it and a tracking order number allowed me to follow its path from Washington state. Easy as pie to get name-brand contacts delivered to my door for less. In this economy, who doesn’t like saving scads more cash? * Needless to say, I was able to avert the expulsion and have stayed in «Contact Lens Purgatory» ever since. «Purgatory», you ask? With the advent of LASIK, that’s the real«paradise» to aspire to. But, like the afterlife, it is generally one-way and I don’t want to risk it. Yet.
