This is a great place for local(produced in Ventura County) 100% pure raw honey. And a cool place to shop for housewarming gifts or for people out of state. It’s a very cute, little shop with honey everything… skin care products, bee wax candles, bee pollen, various foods, etc. Of course they have flavored honey in various sizes too. I really like the slightly minty flavor in their eucalyptus honey, but they do offer samples for you to decide which flavor is your favorite. While you’re shopping, your kids will love the glass case that let’s you look at live bees and their hive. So if you like honey or need a gift, look for the big sign off the 126 and check it out.

I drive down there to get several gallons /tubs of honey for the whole family. We drink ginger tea with honey everyday, and use honey for salad dressing or cooking. Can’t get enough of the good stuff!

This is a cute little shop and the drive here is so pretty. They have so many different flavors of honey and the prices are great. I ended up getting about 8 jars; Cactus, Blueberry, and Hawaiian. The cactus is my favorite because of the unique texture and taste. It’s very thick and different from other types of honey. The staff here were really nice too. They were so welcoming and informative.

For the honey lovers, 5 stars. I used to buy Topanga Quality honey at Fresh and Easy. Now that they are closed, I couldn’t get this excellent brand of honey any longer. As I was on a drive through Valencia, we saw the Bennett’s Honey Farm tasting room. I was most surprised to see that they are the producers of my favorite brand of honey! Mind you, this is just a tasting room, but where else can you try honey from a dozen different flowers? This is natural honey produced by bees from different flowers, not artificially flavored honey. Every one of them is unique and very different from the other. Some you will like, some you will hate. But if you like honey, you will find a favorite. I went home with the Blueberry(natural honey from the flower, not artificially flavored as they have that, too.) honey and the Creamed honey with lemon. My wife agrees, the honey with lemon is amazing! We are thinking up all kinds of ways to use it. And to make things even better, you can buy little plastic tubes of the different flavors to take home and experiment with. I got to do another tasting with my wife and daughter afterwards. So maybe you shouldn’t go out of your way to visit, but if you take 15 minutes to stop in and taste the different honey, you will be pleasantly surprised.

So worth a visit. Felt very authentic. Not all the honey varieties are local, though, so ask if its important to you. Cool live bee display, kids would love it. I loved it! Nice soaps and lotions too, great for locally sourced gift!(Hint.hint)

I hate leaving okay to bad reviews for places where the workers are nice but feel a 3 star review is accurate for this honey farm. Like many on here, I had the Groupon. I think I only paid like $ 13 for it(had a promo code) for 41 pound containers of honey. It wasn’t worth the drive. When I bought it I thought Fillmore was right next to Ventura where I do shopping once in awhile but it’s in the middle of nowhere. The store itself is small. The tasting is self serve. They didn’t have crackers or anything for you to put the honey on. You just get Popsicle sticks and dip them in. Again like a few of you Unilocalers said, most of the flavors tasted exactly the same. Nothing stood out as amazing. I left with 2 jars of cinnamon creamed honey, 1 jar of wildflower honey, and 1 jar of buckwheat honey. I would re-gift these but I’m not sure how generous a gift is of honey and crackers LOL.

Great little find! I found them through Groupon when I was looking for a «local» bee farm. I came from Orange County so it was about an hour and 20 minutes on a Saturday. I needed some beeswax and wanted to pick up some honey. They sell their products at a very fair price. The same honey container I got was $ 6.25 when a store in OC sells it for $ 9. Of course, its not worth it if you’re driving that far just for honey. It was also a good experience. Honestly, I wish they had a tour of the facilities throughout the year, not just in June. Because all you’re doing is tasting a few honeys, looking at their different products and looking at the small bee hive in a glass container, you should be done within 20 – 30 minutes. Even if it was $ 20 bucks for a tour, I’d do it. I would explore the town a tad more. Stop by a few fruit stands by driving West once you exit, and try a restaurant nearby to make the trip more worth while. El Pescador restaurant was pretty authentic. Also, look up the Filmore Fish Hatchery nearby and make a quick stop! Give it a try, it makes a good, short weekend trip.

I did come here with the offer from a groupon. I also did check out Unilocal reviews in advance. So I didn’t have high expectations, but realistic. The storefront is pretty small. And the tastings are just on a table for you to try.(did I fool myself somehow?) I tasted all of the flavors they offered at least twice. Only one of the flavor’s I loved(the creamy one). Most were disappointing. The buckwheat we liked, so that was our second. The third & fourth my wife choose blueberry & orange, she liked them very much. The other flavors were kind of odd, a few were not very good. I expected to love the avacado one, and that had a strange aftertaste. I really wanted it to be fantastic! The cinnamon flavor, was not disappointing.(and I love cinnamon) I think it was just too strong of a flavor. I wasn’t unhappy about it overall. Not bad for the 4lb’s of good honey for what I paid(around $ 14) I’m sure other’s have a different palate, and they may enjoy flavor’s I didn’t.

Avocado honey is a-m-a-z-i-n-g! Creamed honey with cinnamon is super good. Love this place. All the honey is good. Definitely stop everytime we head to the beach and stock up.

I bought a Groupon for this place for«tasting and 4 one lb jars of honey.» Since this place is called a «Honey Farm,» I thought I would actually be able to see how honey is made or something of the sort. It’s actually just a little shop that sells the honey they make, along with a bunch of other honey products and some other items(like olives, BBQ sauce, oils, etc). They do have one hive on display to show the general idea. They also have a movie playing on a mounted TV that goes over and shows the honey production process, but you can’t really hear what they’re saying… With all this in mind and my expectations adjusted, Bennett’s has a great honey selection, with very unique options, and all their honey is raw and unfiltered. The tasting is actually free and the one lb jars are regularly $ 6.25 each(The Groupon cost $ 17). They have about 12 different flavors of honey, half of which are local, and one organic variety. They have: wild flower, blueberry, orange, sage, clover, eucalyptus, avocado, Hawaiian, buckwheat, and I think a couple more I can’t recall. The address on Unilocal is Honey Lane, but that address won’t come up on GPS, so you have to just look for the sign off 126. It’s easy to find – there is a big sign. Parking is easy, right in front of the store. If you’re in the neighborhood or live near by, it’s a fantastic spot to get some local honey. BTW, they also sell different sizes of honey – up to 10 lb containers!

Got a Groupon for Bennett’s. Wasn’t sure how it worked so only bought 1 for myself, my son is severely allergic to bees and we decided to leave him at home. I wish now I had brought him. They showed a LIVE hive in the building behind glass, amazing to see! I was being an over protective mom! He lost out on trying all those delicious honeys! The groupon had a special for 17.99 and you get 4FREE1lb jars of honey for free. I couldn’t make up my mind after tasting so many. What I bought and the STARS I give Avocado honey AMAZING10+ stars Buckwheat WOW10 Wildflower DELICIOUS! 10 Eucalyptus 10++++ I also purchased the creamed honey with cinnamon A.M.A.Z.I.N.G You can literally eat it off a spoon as a dessert. I keep a jar of the cinnamon honey handy in my desk at work when I have a craving for something sweet. If you haven’t gone, GO. bring the kids and make a day of it. We also went into town(further down the road) and walked around visiting all the vintage shops. All around a really awesome day.

A couple of days ago when we were in Valencia for a customer meeting, my colleague who is heavily into different food tastings suggested that we check out Bennett’s honey farm. Bennett’s was about a 15 minutes drive from Valencia so I figured why not and went along. Bennett’s is a small farm in the middle of a large field with a small dirt road run-off from the 126 leading to it, so if you are not careful you could very easily miss it. Upon entering We were warmly greeted and shown the tasting station which contained about 7⁄8 flavors of honey including clover, sage, orange blossom, avocado, eucalyptus, buckwheat, tropical wildflower and Hawaiian. As we were the only people there we took our time tasting all the flavors before we made selections of what we wanted to buy. They had 1 lb. jar’s of honey($ 6.50) and also your familiar honey filled gummy bears(3 for $ 10) for sale. They also had some off-beat honey products like lip balms, skin care products, bee wax candles and soaps which did not interest us too much. I got a jar of Hawaiian honey which was my favorite. It is a thick spreadable honey with an intense deep rooted taste of guess what — honey. Yeah the most basic taste of honey among the lot without any of the fruity, citrus, spicy, nutty or tangy distractions. Just a profound richness that lingers on the palette. Lately I’ve started seeing flavored honey in some of the farmers markets in LA, but choices available are limited, very few have options to taste before you buy and prices are double of what you will pay at Bennett’s, so I was happy to visit and try out and get an understanding of different flavors of honey. As Bennett’s is so far off the beaten path I’m not sure if I would make the extremely long drive to visit again but if I’m in the area of passing through I would have no hesitation to stop by and load up.

Good prices and great honey. I bought a 3lb tub for about $ 15. When you buy in bulk, you save. If you buy the bears, you don’t save very much since it’s just about the same $ 5 price as it is in stores. I found a few of these honeys at some smaller local stores. They have different flavors of honey(by flavors I mean the bees got the nectar of different crops). I really liked the avocado, buckwheat and one of the berries. Orange and Clover honey are always good too.

This place is AWESOME. If you’re driving through to get onto the 101, I highly recommend coming to this place. My family found this place by accident. We read«honey» on the side of the road and turned in. Apparently, there was a pretty large bee farm behind this busy road. As we drove up the hill, we didn’t expect much. However, after we arrive, we found this delightful little shop that sells pretty affordable honey. I love that they have a variety of different types of honey — avocado, orange, clover, and etc. I didn’t know that they produced so many different tastes of honey. You can also dip a tasting spoon inside to try all the honeys. There is a display on the far left of the room of an active honeycomb. Inside, there are hundreds of bees working inside and you can even see the queen bee. Upon our first visit, the store clerk was pretty nice and allowed us to look at their factory area. It was large. She gave us a brief talk on producing honey and also provided pamphlets to refer to. Their bee wax product is also phenomenal. I bought a bee wax soup that smelled so fragrant. It still smells super nice even after a year. Whenever we go on a road trip to Santa Barbara, this is a sure stop. We love this place. Great place to buy lots of gifts for friends and family.

We cannot swing by here often, but when we do, we stock up! The avocado honey they sell here is so freaking incredible. We have tried all the other varieties and they are all so different but so yummy. The creamed honey is a hit too. But again, avocado honey is the way to go. They are a small little store tucked in the middle of a farm off the 126 in Newhall. You have to travel about 15 – 20 min West off the 5 freeway, but again, its worth it. Pricing for the honey definitely is more expensive than the store bought stuff, but the quality is worlds better.

I don’t know what the hell I thought was gonna happen here. I thought maybe I’d be on some farm with bees all around me, and they’d put me in a hardcore protective bee suit of some sort, letting me go out amongst the bastards to get one-on-one time… seeing the everyday lives of those suckers up close and personal. But Nope.
You walk in, …taste the samples of honey, …buy whatever shit you want …then get the fuck out.
(To be fair, the honey is good.)

Little did I know that I was eating the honey from Bennett’s Honey Farm before I ever knew of the name. I had bought Topanga brand honey from another locally owned store called Somis Nuthouse, but the name of the producer was so small & to the side of the jar that one would never notice the producer is Bennett. I am slowly weaning myself away from processed granulated sugar which is basically«empty calories», and am starting to use more honey as a sweetening agent, which according to the Bennett brochure, contains simple sugar for faster digestion, addition of a calcium supplement can increase mineral uptake, not to mention honey contains vitamins, minerals, trace elements needed by the body. Apparently, honey also has antibiotic, antiviral, anti-inflammatory characteristics. However, for those allergic to honey, there would be no benefit. Honey was probably mankind’s first sweetener. The only food offered to the pharaohs of Egypt in their tombs that is still edible to this day is honey. Not that honey is a panacea for all deleterious conditions, I feel that honey is a better sugar substitute except maybe raw brown sugar and agave nectar. The different kinds of nutrient laden, unfiltered honey made from different plant flowers are all locally obtained in Ventura County: Avocado, Buckwheat, Sage, Orange, Cactus, Clover, Eucalyptus, Wildflower. Bennett’s also is «green» by using solely solar energy to power its establishment. You don’t have to come all the way to Filmore to enjoy access to this local treat. Bennett’s Topanga brand can be found at: Whole Foods, Ralph’s, Fresh & Easy, etc. Bennett’s Piru Canyon Honey can be seen at local fruit stands, open air markets in Ventura, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, & San Luis Obispo Counties. There are many honey related products also: Beeswax lip balm, Royal Jelly capsules, Propolis capsules, Pollen, Bee’s wax, soaps, candles. Great place to stock up on all things made by the industrious Honey Bee. PS Bennet’s is not visible from the main road. Go down the driveway marked by the HONEY signs about a thousand feet in from the highway.
