This winery is so quaint, with beautiful landscaping. AND it’s affordable! We sat on the veranda and drank wine, snacked on their complementary cheese and crackers, and listened to the creek trickle into the pond! We will definitely be back next weekend!

Solid winery. Good for the family. The reds are great. The Cab Franc we bought was fabulous. Great views. Nice little out of the way place. Worth the drive.

My wife and I completed our tour of the Botetourt Wine Trail by visiting Fincastle Vineyard this weekend and couldn’t have enjoyed our stay more. We actually stayed the night in their B&B after our tasting. We enjoyed watching the wedding for a few minutes as well. We loved the wines, bought too many bottles, but I know we will enjoy them at home.

A fabulous retreat, so close & yet blissfully far away. Our hostess, Georgia is truly gracious. The Chardonnay is delicious. The setting, rooms and atmosphere are glorious. For a fun day trip, head to Dixie Caverns; about 35 minutes drive. It is like walking into an underground cathedral. Purely magical. Lunch in Salem at the Blue Apron is a delightful party for your palate! We are fully relaxed and thrilled with our choice to stay at this peaceful vineyard and country manor.

Wines were good. $ 3 wine tasting fee is waived if you buy a bottle($ 15 range). Very small winery — tasting room is part of their home. Sweet couple and their son seem to run the place and the wines were very nice.(Note we didn’t have any trouble finding it between the signs and the gps.)

Once again, David R., we had no problem finding Fincastle using a GPS … Of the 7 wineries we visited this weekend, Fincastle was one of the nicest with beautiful grounds, flowers and plantings, ponds with trickling waterfalls and a B&B. Well worth the drive on winding roads in the countryside. The tasting room is beautifully done and attached to the B&B as well — it looks out over the festival grounds(they have 5 weekend concerts scheduled this season). On top of the setting, the wines were quite good. We tasted 6 wines and had a glass of Hybrid Vigor before purchasing a bottle for home. The Cab Franc was also quite good but we were looking for some whites to beat the heat.

A member of the Botetourt County Wine Trail — the wines here are fantastic. And affordable. Fans of Virginia wine should check into the Red Roof Inn in Troutville, VA(north of Roanoke) and explore all three wineries on this trail. It makes for a great weekend getaway. Fincastle Vineyard boasts a house lifted right from The Waltons – a great sipping porch overlooking a meadow that’s used for festivals, and the vineyards. The owners are extremely friendly and will make you feel like you’re part of the family. Virginia is well-known now for their Cab Francs, but Fincastle’s is one of the best in the state. BRINGTHEMAP. Do not rely on GPS for these wineries.
