Not a good lap pool water too warm and too shallow for flip turns.
But this makes it a great pool for kids to learn to swim in. I did.

Great place to bring the family! They’ve got a tiny kiddie pool and a normal pool. Super inexpensive. Wouldn’t go anywhere else in Tacoma.

I agree with Stephanie K: best swim lessons in Tacoma! Reasonably priced, good teachers, decent changing room, nice pool — outside, and just a happy vibe about the whole place.
The price is reasonable: This year, daily — half hour lessons for a two week session is $ 47 for a non-​resident of Fircrest.
The only downside is… lessons can only happen in the summer!

BEST swimming lessons in town! Only during the summers, taught by college students. For younger ones, there is also a wading pool.
This is designated for Fircrest residents. Lucky dogs! So the wading pool is for Fircrest residents only during certain times, I want to say 12 – 4.
Lastly, the lessons are open to Fircrest residents first! So non-​residents have to sit in line for HOURS, literally. WORTH IT! Quality instruction!
