The food here is fantastic! Our experience was a little odd though. After a very bad experience our first time there, I spoke with the restaurant. They were very apologetic and sincere. The man who oversees all of the Rockstone Pizza’s called me directly and is a great person. They pride themselves on being a family place and are owned by Sahms, which is great. We will probably go back just based on the amazing service we received from management staff.

The atmosphere here is lacking. It’s just very sterile feeling. But if you can get past that, you’re going to have a great meal. Our pizza was full of flavor, although a tad greasy. The staff was genuinely very nice and we’ve been back a couple of times with the kids. I sure wish they had delivery! Nice work, Sahm’s!

We tried Rockstone last night for carry out and we loved the pizza. It was delish and I’m sure if we ate in house next time it will be even better. We had the 10′ wood fired Margarita with Italian sausage added. Our only disappointment was that they forgot to give us our salad and we were a little hungry. I’m sure they’ll make it right next time. Sahm’s pub next door is their sister and the food is great there also. We’ve gone there since they opened.

Pizza here is so delicious. The chicken salad with fresh pulled chicken is one of my favorite salads in the area. Breadsticks are perfect. We don’t come often bc the kids aren’t fans and the pepperoni is tiny and really crispy. I love it like that but my kids like a standard pizza. Service is always friendly and there is some great beer choices.

Ive been there twice for lunch — both awesome. most recent I had the beer cheese appetizer. Cheese was great: you could actually taste the beer. I didn’t care for the crunchy crackers. i’ll get it with the breadsticks next time. Stout on draught has a subtle rasberry taste — not a fruity beer with stout ingredients. Gooseboli panini was great. Most places serve paninis as a grilled cheese pressed/toasted in a vat of butter. This was lighter and really featured the capacollo and pepperoni. I know, it’s not really light but i’m glad it wasn’t loaded down in butter. I’ll be back to see what treat they have on tap next.

The Archie B pizza is the best pizza I have ever had. The crust is thin and slightly sweet. The sausage has a nice little kick to it. The mushrooms are sliced thick so they have a nice chew. The different types of cheese work well together. It was so good I had to go back the next day to get another one.

My favorite pizza in Indianapolis by FAR! Amazing flavors and varieties. The atmosphere is so so but it doesn’t matter because the food is amazing. We have been to many pizzerias around Indianapolis and nothing compares. I hear there is a new one in Nora so I want to check that out soon. Salads also rock, honestly, you can’t go wrong here. And if you are gluten free you are also in luck!

Great wood fired pizza. The crust has a nice chewy bite to it. The toppings were fresh, generous on the sauce. They also have a nice menu with other pasta/sandwiches. I want to come back and try more of the menu/beer list. Only downside is the location on 116/Allisonville gets pretty backed up with traffic. It can be frustrating trying to get in/out of the strip mall parking lot.

The smells get you as soon as you walk in the door. This warm and cozy spot offers up some pretty decent food. I really want to give more than three stars, but their pizza and salads still don’t measure up to one of my local faves. We ordered the Buffalo Chicken Pizza and the Chop Chop salad. Both were good, but I’ve had better bbq pizza. The service was great and the prices are fair. I’ll definitely be back and will try something different. Hopefully it will prove that I need to up the star value. They do have Trivia Night on Tuesdays, which was a lot of fun! I recommend that you give it a try.

Once I get a chance to return, I will probably update my review. I was underwhelmed by my first visit. They have a nice selection of drinks and brews so that’s a plus. The service was also adequate but nothing to write home(or Unilocal) about. I had a chicken parmesan panini. Sounds good in theory, but man, it was soggy. I think it’s just not a great concept in general because sauce will always soak the bread. My husband loves this place so once I get a chance to return, I hope this place knocks my socks off and I can give it another star(maybe two!).

Whoa. Had the sassy Carl pizza… Excellent! As always, house salad and breadsticks were delicious.

We were looking for a meeting spot between north of Indy and downtown for some friends. Pulling into the strip mall type area made us a little nervous but once you walk in, it vanish quickly. We ended up in the bar area which was nice and pleasant. We started off with the spinach goat dip which was excellent. We asked for more chips but there were 4 of us. The beer list is plentiful and a beer lover will have no issues finding something they love. We ordered two wood fired pizza’s and devoured both of them. We will probably return.

Pizza’s above average, but the reason I give this place 5 stars is the beer selection. The selection isn’t overly expansive, but they have some stuff that I haven’t seen elsewhere in the city. I haven’t been to every nook and cranny in the city, but I’ve visited some craft beer specific bars that didn’t have quite the eclectic selection that Rockstone offered.

I’ve lived in Fishers almost 5 years and just tried this spot a few weeks ago. Chicken Caesar is awesome, bread sticks are delicious, chicken club sandwich is huge, tasty and very filling. Love that you can get fresh fruit as a side. Delivery was fast and inexpensive. Haven’t tried the pizza though!

The shrimp bisque pizza was an interesting take. I liked the sauce to crust ratio and the shrimp wasn’t cooked to death. I wish the wood fired pizzas were offered in the 14″ not just the 10″. The real star for me was the craft beer selection on tap! I had looked everywhere for Gumball Head from 3 Floyds and found it here. Not as good as Baxbeaus but worth going back.

I went here after seeing an article in Indianapolis Monthly that listed them as one of the best spots for Mac and Cheese. We ordered the Buff Chick dip which was really good and a good mix of buffalo and cheese without overdoing the buffalo sauce! It came with super yummy wood-fired crackers that I could have eaten on their own, just a tad sweet with a great crunch to it. I ordered the Mac Daddy mac and cheese that had City ham, diced bacon, and capocollo along with a mix of cheeses. I am in full agreeance with the top mac and cheese rating that IM gave. It was amazing and I love that it has the proteins so you actually stay full after the carb high has worn off. My friend had the Deluxious Sammy on Focaccia that looked amazing as well and received a good review from her. The dining enviornment is nice. The décor is similar to the sister restarant, Sahm’s, that is next door and includes a full bar, daily drink specials, and multiple tvs.

I really hate to be the one to go against all the hype of this place — but I gotta be honest. We had a less than stellar visit to Rockstone. Lemme tell you why… We went on a double date with another couple who had called ahead for a table. We still had to wait, but it was ok – we were chatting and catching up. Plus, calling ahead is a great feature, right? Once seated, we asked our waiter if they offered flights of beer. His response: «I think so.» Ummm, ok. When I asked how many ounces per pour and how many beers were in a flight, he did not know. Perhaps he also did not know that there was no set price per flight and I would be charged different prices per beer when the bill came… but I am getting ahead of myself. We ordered the breadsticks and the roasted beet salad to split. Pretty sad when the highlight of the meal was a darn breadstick. The beet salad was good, but if you tout an ingredient in the name, maybe it should be a major player in the dish. Just sayin’. We asked our server for input on which pizzas we should order and he had no suggestions for us. Awesome. Hubs has a dairy allergy so we each got our own 10″ wood fired pizzas — He the BBQ chicken(sans cheese) and I opted for the FunGuy. The other couple we were with got the wood fired Trio — and it was pretty tasty. Ours were absolutely nothing to write home about. Hub’s did not taste at all like BBQ and mine lacked flavor — despite looking amazing. Basically $ 12 for a personal pan pizza chapped me out a little bit, too… but I am willing to pay that for an amazing pie. This was far from amazing. This would have been a one-star experience for me if the delicious, flaky breadstick and the small offering of roasted beets I tasted had not saved the day. We WANTED to like this place, but from jump it was just off… our server lacked basic knowledge of his products and did not offer to get the information for us. Add to that the surprise of random prices per beer on the flight(where not all beers came filled to the top — see pic) and we will not return to Rockstone. There are WAY too many other pizza places to visit instead.

I’d been contemplating trying Rockstone Pizzeria & Pub since my visit to the nearby Wiseguys Pizza, but it was a recent visit by a friend that made me finally say«Okay, it’s time.» So, on a lazy Sunday afternoon I decided it would be a great place to enjoy a meal, watch the Colts game, and read my Sunday newspaper. Rockstone is located in a strip center just inside Fishers, Indiana with a Sahm’s location and a Massage Indy location also located in the strip. It’s not a particularly impressive building, but it’s infinitely less divey than the nearby Wiseguys. I will admit that Rockstone lost a star before I ever made it inside. While they have a nice little curb cut that helps with wheelchair access, they’d rather ignorantly placed their outdoor signage on the sidewalk very close to an outdoor bike rack and it blocked anyone with a mobility issue from actually accessing the restaurant. While I was able to move it, it wasn’t exactly simple to do so and a lot of folks with mobility issues wouldn’t be able to do so. Once I got by the sign, I went in their double-glass doors and there was a host/hostess area with a hand-written sign to seat ourselves at the bar. That was simple enough and, in fairness, I did arrive at almost 2pm in the afternoon. So, I seated myself at a four-seat table that was for the most part out of the light from the outside. The walls had several televisions, all playing football games and all playing the Colts game with the exception of one. There were also a few booths along the outside of the dining area against the walls. The place was almost empty with the exception of a couple booths that were taken and a handful of bodies at the bar. I don’t really consider myself high maintenance, but I do have this guideline that if you’re an employee and you see me enter and sit down then you should acknowledge me whether you’re going to be my server or not. So, I was a little disconcerted to have one server completely ignore me as she walked by me twice. Finally, a server came by and noticed my presence and handed me a drink menu before noticing I hadn’t been given any other menus. I’m not sure why I needed a lunch menu when lunch specials are only applicable Monday-Friday, but I received one. The décor has sort of a pub meets industrial vibe to it. The drink menu is extensive, though I stuck with my usual iced tea. The menu consists primarily of wood-baked pizzas, appetizers, a couple desserts, and a few foccaccia sandwiches. While the idea of a whole pizza wasn’t really appealing, I opted for a 10″ pepperoni as I’d been told their wood-stove pizzas were good. The wait wasn’t bad at all and within a few minutes I had my pizza. It was light, crispy, and to be perfectly honest I had no problem polishing it all off without feeling overly stuffed. Of course, I hadn’t eaten at all during the day and that likely helped. The toppings were good and plentiful and balanced throughout each slice. Service was attentive and I did get my always desired refill. What’s my overall impression? As I noted, I swiped away one star right away because of the unnecessary and inconsiderate accessibility issue. Thus, we’re in the 3 – 4 star range here. There’s a part of me that wants to give Rockstone a 4-star rating, but I have to be honest and say it lacked that certain spark that separates it from other establishments. While there’s no question that the atmosphere is vastly superior to Wise Guys, I honestly preferred the Wise Guys pizza. This pizza, while I liked the wood-baked quality, was good but it simply didn’t «wow» me like I want an upper tier pizzeria to wow me. The same was true for the service — it was attentive but not particularly inviting. In my opinion, really good service makes you want to go back and go back soon. I enjoyed my meal, but Rockstone will definitely not be a destination spot for me. If I really want a wood-baked pizza, Napolese is closer and superior.

I’ve been to Rockstone a couple of times now and have had very good experiences both times. The first time was with my kids and as others have mentioned they do seat you in a further back room that can get a little loud. This isn’t an issue to me but to others it can be. Kids had individual pizzas and we shared breadsticks which were a real hit. I had the BBQ chicken pizza which was also very good but maybe just a touch sweeter than would have been perfect for me. We also shared a couple of desserts which were also great. This last time I went with my wife and no kids so we were able to sit in the main bar area which is the better of the two seating areas. My wife had a wood fired classic trio(sausage, pepperoni, and mushroom) to which she added fennel seed and red onion. I had the gooseboli sandwich and cheezy chorizo tater ale soup. Every thing was very tasty with the only real complaint I could have was maybe just a bit to much bread on the sandwich. This could be personal preference though as I generally prefer less bread on my sandwhiches. Service was quick and did a very good job on keeping our drinks taken care of.

Stopped in tonight to enjoy the Northside Nights menu. On this visit we were accompanied by another married couple that have a baby. Thus, we didn’t sit in the bar, instead we sat in the family area. We called ahead and were seated at the time promised. While waiting i ordered a Gumballhead as a joke and was told«we always have that on draft». And they did. The northside nights menu is not quite as advertised: for $ 30 you pick 2 salads, 2 pizzas, and either a dessert or an appetizer. Fortunately with 4 people we split 2 devour menus and got to share 1 app, 4 salads, 4 pizzas, and 1 dessert. The appetizer(breadsticks) arrived after the salads, which was odd, but all were delicious. I had the beat salad, which seemed to be lacking in pistachios. If you advertise an ingredient, make sure it is recognizable in the dish. The pizzas, as always, were amazing. The pork pie is by far the best I’ve had here. The Sassy Karl was a close second. The 4 of us split a s’mores pizza. 6″ may sound like a decent size, but it is just a tasting portion when split 4 ways. It was incredibly sweet but delicious. Service was a bit spotty in the family section, but it improved as the night went on and the younger crowd faded. Overall my wife and I love this place and can’t wait until Sahm’s opens a second Rockstone in Nora!
