Wild Ginger had great service and delicious food. Their lunch specials are very affordable. The food comes out very quickly and our waitress was great. We will definitely come back.

Great ambiance, yet unpretentious. Sushi rolls are excellent, especially the ‘Mistake Roll’ of spicy tuna plus. Lunch specials include salad and miso soup. It may seem an anomaly, but WG has a good beer list. Service is excellent and booths are very comfortable affording a modicum of privacy, however illusory it may be. Price of $ 17 and change includes a $ 6 beer.

Went here with a friend because he didn’t remember coming here before. Once he got there, he remembered. I think that sums up the experience perfectly. Wild Ginger has some good sushi that is not fantastic, but is good. This little place isn’t going to win any awards, but if it can maintain the status quo they will continue to do well. The food was good –fresh and presented well. The service was great; the waitress and the owner of the place checked on us several times. I will go back, mostly because it is closer to home and the service was great.

Two words: Mistake Roll! So here’s a tip — don’t make the mistake of missing out on this Wild Ginger favorite. 10 pieces of heavenly goodness. Spicy tuna roll friend, rice and then covered in spicy mayo. Yummmm. Yum.(Just imagine that I’m still saying«yum.») The sad part of my one and only visit was that the service was at turtle speed. I met up with some friends around 8 pm, which is a bit on the later side for dinner. So the restaurant as a whole really wasn’t that crowded at this time. I wasn’t sure what the hold up was on our meals, but it did take a bit longer than necessary. Definitely willing to give this place another go as I truly did love that Mistake Roll …

Went there for a date night. The restaurant is nice and service was good. All the sushi was good except the spicy tuna was kind of warm and a somewhat strange texture. Overall a good experience!

The Sushi is amazing!!! I always receive great service. The menu is filled with very creative rolls. I try a new sushi roll every time I visit and I am never disapointed.

Wild Ginger is pretty good! I got one of the lunch combos. Not sure which one it was but it was teriyaki for sure. The amount given was plentiful and it came with miso soup and salad! Also, I didn’t order the mistake roll myself but my friend did and it was sooooo good. It’s as good as the pricing gets!

Sushi is one of my favorite foods and I always try all the different restaurants I can. This sushi was pretty bland and unoriginal. We have not tried anything else there but with all the great sushi options in the area we will likely go elsewhere. We both left there saying«meh.»

This place is amazing! I love love love it! I was kind of skeptical to come at first because I’ve heard mixed things in the past, but this place is a must for locals. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating to our indecisiveness. She was always happy to explain what was on the menu. The restaurant is a little dark but very nicely decorated and great for a casual lunch. These lunch portions are VERY generous. Of all the sushi places I’ve been to, these rolls are the largest. Flavor-wise, the mistake roll is promising. It comes out warm and crispy with a nice soft bite. The California roll and my white fish tempura roll were okay. The lunch combos also come with a nice Asian-style salad with peanut dressing and miso soup. My friends and I were worried we wouldn’t get much food for what we paid(~$ 11), but we left with food comas.

This is my favorite sushi place in Indy so far. They are consistently good. I do wish they had some sort of kids menu though :)

Wasabi makes everything better. Pretty good. Better than naked chopstix but still not crazy fresh

Visited here many times. Lunch and Dinner with friends, family and by myself at the bar. Its really a hit or miss when it comes to the service. Yes I’ve sat there waiting for hours to no end and was ready to walk. Other times the customer service is right on perfect. Really depends who your server is. If there new, good luck. The Nemo roll is my favorite. Prices are a bit high however the rolls seem to be bigger than other places. The patio is a nice break from the indoor shuffle. Give yourself a two hour lunch and you should be good to go.

I was extremely excited to hear that this place was owned by the people who own Wasabi on 82nd. After visiting, I have a hard time believing this is true after being here. Slow service, mediocre food and expensive prices. Rolls were 12 – 15 for the specialties… that is absurd. They did have a few that were in that 6 – 9 range but they were pretty simple. Teriyaki dishes were $ 18 – 21. I’m still upset about the service. Our waitress had 2 other tables(there were probably 6 tables total sat when we were there and another waitress had 4) and the service was ABSURDLY slow. I don’t understand where she kept disappearing to. Was she also the cook? I’m so confused. Anyway, not going to waste too much breath on this review and it seems the public mimics my review. Avoid this place unless you have no other option IMO.

High priced, slow to deliver sushi, slow to offer refill on hot tea, no fried calamari appetizer on the menu(which is awesome at other locations). The steamed shrimp dumplings were not attractive, but tasted very good. The rolls were Heavy on rice and light on the seafood filling(skimpy). Server was friendly so she gets the stars. Next time we will go to Bento Café’ or Sapporo.

Oof, what a lunch. If it weren’t for the great company I was with, I might have walked out. Our server was so frazzled she never brought our drinks, so after 30 mins we had to ask the host to get them. Once our food arrived she forgot the salads, soup, soy sauce dishes and spoons. We finally did get settled with our food but our drinks were never once refilled. I guess the food was good, but the service was so terrible it never really was enjoyable. Don’t think this one will get a second chance with me.

The sushi is uninspired at best. More specifically, the ratio of fish to rice was way off. The spider roll, perhaps the worst I’ve ever experienced, was bland — no crunch, too much rice — just a bunch of puck-like disks of rice with a bit(I think) of cucumber and no(I think) daikon. Not a good value here.

A bit pricey for the quantity you receive. I mean I expect sushi to be pricey regardless, but paying $ 30 for 12 pieces of sushi and a small bowl of edamame seems like not a lot of bang for your buck, especially at lunch. Tried the Phoenix(to be fair, one of their more expensive rolls) and the spicy albacore w Ponzu sauce. If you go, get the ponzu sauce roll! It’s just as good as the Phoenix in flavor, and half the price. Service was definitely lacking, but that could have been just because they were nearing the end of their lunch hour. Overall, decent sushi(it really was pretty good) but not somewhere I would probably go again.
