This place use to be decent but these last few months I run into really rude, racists customers and ShopRite management don’t act on it! And the place is really dirty…

ShopRite has the items that you need at decent prices. The parking lot can be a bit of a cluster****, and there is barely any room to load your basket up when checking out, but there are some friendly folks employed there and there are always some pretty solid deals. Check your circular for savings!

«Fresh» fruit and some vegetables are always mealy or rotten inside. Prices are high, low quality produce, Aisles crammed with crap, and the return bottle machines are always breaking down. Frequently, prices are advertised as 2 for 1; but often, you’re not getting a bargain, its a gimmick. We usually go to the front desk to turn bottles in if a machine is out of order. Did that yesterday, with about 4 or 5 plastic seltzer bottles, mind you, and the woman behind the counter was very nasty about it! I agree with the other reviews; there are employees walking around doing nothing. There ARE two cashiers who are hard workers, always pleasant to customers, but I shop here very rarely now, maybe once a month for a couple of items. Walmart, Adams, and Hannaford offer better merchandise. Wow, never thought I’d put Walmart on the list of «better» places to shop.

I used to shop here all the time, but haven’t for a while. I stopped today to get Boar’s Head cold cuts. I ordered Oven Gold Turkey Breast and Deluxe ham at the deli counter. I was offered a slice to taste and I should have done so. When I finished my shopping and brought my groceries to the car I noticed a kind of rancid smell. I thought that maybe it was something in the parking lot. I got home, unpacked the groceries and smelled the same smell. It was the cold cuts(both the ham and the turkey). They had gone bad. Unfortunately, I couldn’t bring them back today, because we’re leaving for vacation. I hope this is just a one time thing, but with both the ham and the turkey being bad, it makes me wonder. I think I’ll stick to shopping at the ShopRite in Poughkeepsie from now on.(Just an FYI, noticing the pictures below for this ShopRite, the first pic of the fruit/vegetables is a pic of the ShopRite in Poughkeepsie, not the one in Fishkill. The ShopRite in Fishkill has very poor lighting, but the one in Poughkeepsie’s very bright.)
