I am always impressed how clean this store is. I won’t go into FRY’S next door since it’s a pig sty. Now that Albertson’s will be leaving Flagstaff, my hope is that the manager stays with this store. Her/his(?) crew is friendly, keeps the place clean(shouldn’t grocery stores be clean?) and prices are good. I shop at other stores like Safeway, Sprouts, Whole Foods, etc. in Flag, but this is a good Albertson’s. Ron

I love Albies! Hands down the best place to buy wine. A nice selection and great prices. The store seemed a little smaller than most Albertsons I’ve visited. Nice cashiers and atmosphere. I’ve always been a fan of this chain store.

Not only did they have the hard to find Lay’s Chicken and Waffle potato chips, but they have a great self serve chicken wing bar in the store. Very clutch!

Are you looking for a grocery store almost devoid of annoying crowds, with all the ambiance of a mortuary but with snacks, i give you Alberston’s. I’ll be the first to admit that this is likely the second most lackluster grocery chain in Flagstaff, behind Bashas. Give it a try, I think you’ll like it for your grocery staples. Positive factors for my rating: +1 — Not that many people shop here so it’s less crowded than competitors, people say it’s because the prices are high or that Fry’s is next door. The prices are reasonable and I love that there aren’t that many people. +1 — It’s lack of commitment to organic/gluten free/lactose free food crazes. I do buy some organic foods but it makes me smile when there’s not a section in the grocery store dedicated to organic foods. There’s not a special section that has chicken breasts and cigarettes for me. +1 — The meat department. Mostly for the inexpensive, peppered, thick-cut bacon and the hand-trimmed chicken breasts. I don’t eat seafood in Arizona, so I can’t rate them on this.(If people say the seafood at any meat dept in Flag isn’t good, they should really look at where they live and question why you eat seafood here at all.) +1 The produce department is pretty good. There are a couple of dudes constantly rotating product and getting all the old stuff out. They have the veggie and fruit staples. If your planning on making a glaze for your reindeer loin made of star fruit and some weird African tuber, go somewhere else. +1 — Fried Chicken bucket for $ 8 — do yourself a favor, best fried chicken in Flagstaff. That’s not saying much about the towns dedication to fatty foods, but this is a steal. +1 — The straightforward commitment to average customer service. I don’t want some chipper, grinning fool chatting me up while handling my toilet paper and a cream for something I don’t want this grinning fool to know I have. And Albertson’s obliges! You’re lucky to even get anything beyond the standard, «Did you find everything alright?» before they resume talking among themselves. Negative factors for my review: –1 — A better real cheese selection. Not the various yellow, white, and yellow and white American standards they’ve got that covered, but some good international cheeses. –1 — A lot less wine and a better beer selection –1 — More items on the hot bar, possibly a cold salad bar as well

They sold me a rotten lobster tail. I could have gotten very sick from it had I eaten it.

#129 Grabbed some pasta for a snack on a road trip over to Santa Fe. The place was huge compared to an Albertson’s in LA. Service was great and the guy at the deli was friendly. The pasta turned out to be pretty average, but it was enough to get us through another leg of the drive.

It was a cold, wintery Friday night when my boyfriend and I stopped by to pick up some snacks for our roadtrip. It was clean, quiet, and empty.

Albertsons used to be the Northern California until Save Mart changed the Albertsons’ name back to Lucky. Typical grocery store with the same Albertsons layout that I remember. The store emphasized the Super Bowl with signs and decorations. I sampled some Simply Orange and Simply Grapefruit drinks. In addition, I had some medium green salsa with tortilla chips. The elderly ladies passing out the samples were so nice and generous. They weren’t in a foul mood like those elderly women at Costco. The location of this store is on Route 66, otherwise known as East Santa Fe Avenue and I-40 on the map. I can say that I’ve been on Route 66!
