I am not at all impressed with the new Whole Foods and I miss New Frontiers like crazy. All of my old and favorite brands are gone. You wanna talk about expensive? I’m so sad in writing this.

This New Frontiers location was really convenient to go to last year because of how close it was to my apartment. I would occasionally stop by if any organic produce was on sale, but 99% of the items are just too expensive for a regular person’s budget. Now that Whole Foods bought out New Frontiers, I’m not sure if they’ll have good sales anymore. It’s kind of a shame because the employees were always nice and the store was always clean. My wallet and I prefer to do my shopping at Sprouts because it’s way cheaper, and it’s probably going to stay that way.

Even though I vowed not to shop at WFS anymore I am glad I have the option. Good stuff just do your homework and buy products that are from good companies. I hate how WFs has cornered the market and controls organic distribution but I am ok that we have them in flag. Just make sure to support your local farmers at the farmers market!!!

Don’t even bother with New Frontiers. The good: *Some of their food is organic. The bad: *Catastrophically overpriced. Like, highway robbery overpriced. Feeling like they think Flagstaff customers are idiots overpriced. *Obnoxious political publications at check out. Really? I’m here for food, not to hear about how much you hate the Pope. So much for tolerance. *The deli food is terrifying. The only pre-made food I trust here is the sushi. Just go to Natural Grocers instead, you won’t have to part with half of your paycheck, the service is great, and you aren’t assaulted with political garbage when all you want is food.

First question: Is this place owned by Whole Foods? If so, their store quality control manager needs to be called ASAP. This place is a total dive. I travel a lot for work and frequent Whole Foods for healthy grab-and-go options. This place was significantly overpriced(about 25% more than other grocers) and the variety in the hot/cold bar looked like it had been sitting around for days. Don’t waste your time or money on this place. I am sure that there are other healthy options around town.

Had a challenging opportunity finding this place after the GPS system in our vehicle listed it at their old address(old data.) The lady who answered the phone was very apologetic(not her fault) and helpfully, and thankfully provided us accurate directions to find the place. I’ll agree with other posts that it’s not cheap, but quality was very high and pricing is not unreasonable for what we selected. Selections were awesome and we were very pleased with what the store had to offer. The young lady who manages the cheese selections was graciously/willingly helpful, very informed and friendly. Were I to live in Flagstaff, I would visit here regularly.

The Short: An organic grocery store that’s dedicated to more than its hippie and yuppie customer base. The Pros: — Great selection and variety of products for a smalltown organic grocer. — Friendly customer service regardless of if you blend-in with the rest of the customer base. — Great tasting store-made dinner and dessert options. The Cons: — Gallon of milk: $ 8 [] Expression on my face: priceless. — Fuji apples: 3.99/lbs [] My cardiac arrest at the register: embarrassing. Best Item(s): — Store-made banana pudding! — Salad bar. __________________________________________________ The Story: I found New Frontiers around my second month in Flagstaff. My first experience there was mixed. I loved the corporate concept of the grocer but couldn’t find anything I could afford. I would stop now and again when I was bored and after a year of this found a select group of items that were within my price range. First, I feel that some of the legitimacy and usefulness of this review relies on you, the kind and obviously tasteful reader, knowing a bit about me. I’ve never refused to drink something in a BPA container. I’ve never protested against GMOs. I actually began shopping at organic grocers due to my disappointment of the free-range selection of meats at my local grocers. I’m just an average beer drinking, sports watching, pissing contest winning 30-year-old hombre. I do prefer the animal I am devouring to have lived as good as life as possible before I soak it in whiskey and throw it on the grill for 15 minutes. Since I began shopping organically from time to time I attempt to stay away from GMOs and BPAs, but it’s no my life’s mission. I’m to busy dousing beef brisket with alcohol for it to be. So! New Frontiers acts as a suitable alternative to the limited selection of the local CSA(community supported agriculture). That being said, its greatest asset is its open and friendly ambiance. Smiles are handed out like Halloween candy! It’s a lovely change from the atmosphere at your average Flagstaff grocery store. Items found in the deli, salad bar, and store made goods sections are what someone making around $ 30,000/year should be able to afford. Everything else, good luck! Every now and then you’ll find some reasonably priced sale items but don’t get used it. They’ll be rising higher than the national debt by the weeks end. Long story short. Great shop. Astronomical prices. Absolutely worth checking out.

I love New Frontiers. I had forgotten what a tomato actually tasted like until I started shopping here. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They have a great variety of organic produce and a wide selection of specialty items. The deli is great for picking up a quick meal and the salad/soup bar is fantastic. I also like their meat and fish department, it is a little pricey, but the quality and selection is superb.

Very nice and clean a bit over priced although they have quite a selection over natural grocers
