I was very disappointed. The food was very average. The pancakes tasted like baking soda and the mimosas were half champagne and half orange syrup. The eggs and potatoes were average. The ambiance is cool, very old mining town retro.

We live downtown and frequent the restaurant and bars associated with Charly’s. They have great food and good deals during happy hour. The staff are always attentive and polite.

Was in flagstaff for New Year’s Eve and a friend said to come here for breakfast. The place was empty when we walked in, we were a larger party(8 people) and we called ahead of time and they said they had room, since the place was empty when we walked in we figured that the large party wasn’t a problem but apparently it was. We ordered mimosas and they decided to bring us a bottle with a pitcher of orange juice to do it ourself, fine by me. We ordered breakfast and waited over an hour for our food, which to me is an outrageous amount of time to wait for your food especially when the place is empty. They gave us a small cup of peaches and cream right after we ordered and I thought that was nice but then after waiting an hour I was more just annoyed and hungry for what I had ordered and wanting to hit the road to travel back to Tucson. I ordered the chorizo and eggs which was good but my chorizo was a little cold, the meal was honestly not worth the wait especially with the place being nearly empty. Not impressed.

Cute little place in down town, its a part of the Weatherford Hotel, which is a historical landmark. This one place has a few different restaurants and bars. Charly’s is through the main door, to the right. Its very laid back, divey kinda feel, along with a hint of «speak easy» to it. They have a small stage next to the bar, with a dance floor, a few tables out on the floor, next to a couple pool tables. Our bartender was very nice and helpful with the menu. We decided to split a plate of nachos and have a few drinks and just relax. The nachos are HUGE, definitely enough to have about 4 people split and be full. We added the steak to it along with pinto beans, it was pretty good for bar nachos! Even the salsa had a good spice to it. I believe down in the basement is the Gopher Hole and around to the left is The Exchange Pub and then Zane is upstairs. Its a bit confusing when you first walk in, but we are happy we made our way to Charly’s.

I had quite a few bloody marys here one Sunday morning. They were perfect. Made a few friends and watched some football. This is a good hang out place, but the service was slow. There was only 1 bartender/server for the whole place, so I can’t blame her, but the place could put another server in there for sure.

Good for a bit. Try the chili, I seem to remember liking it, nachos are good too… not the best but not the worst… plenty of other places to try next time I am in Flagstaff though.

It was quiet in there today but we were very late for lunch and way too early for dinner. We stopped in for a nite to eat and to escape the bad weather. The main dining area was closed so we ate in the bar area. I had the Hotel Club sandwich… chicken, ham, cheese on a brioche bun. It was fantastic! The fries were crispy and the sauce on the side was fantastic. My coworker had the veggie burger with French onion soup on the side. He was pleased with both. Service was a little slow considering you could count on one hand how many guests were there but I would still go back next time I am in the area.

Visit: October 10. This place is so cute! My partner and I ate outside and it was nice to people watch. Anyways, we both had the navajo tacos(beef). They weren’t authentic, but they were delicious. You get a lot of food, so you could probably share the taco and grab some salad on the side or something. The beef was crunchy, like they burnt it, but even that didn’t make the taco horrible. Tip: Pass on the beef. Maybe try the chicken. Also, I had the cocktail drink cactus wren and it was okay. Pass on this drink. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I will definitely be going back.

Pleasant hotel bar in a vintage hotel in downtown Flagstaff. Food was fresh, prepared and presented at a higher level than pub grub, and more like a good restaurant. Service was pleasant and knowledgeable, though a little spacey. Ambience is good, especially on the balcony overlooking the main public square. Interior dining elegant, especially in the second floor sunroom. The balcony is on the third floor, breezy and pleasant. Good, solid value in a pleasant setting.

Amazing food! Best service! Ordered a Navajo taco, hands down best food! Also ordered the multiple cheese macaroni which was delicious. Also ordered a dip sandwich, with prime rib and cheese, so amazing. Everything was on point, there wasn’t much of a dessert menu or drink menu available but over the food was well worth it.

My husband and I ate dinner there last night and it was one of the best meals we ever had! We have to give our compliments to the Chef Jake. We had 2 different chicken dishes. I had Chicken and pasta and my husband had the weekly special mushroom stuffed chicken. After the very sweet waitress told Jake how much we loved his food he came out to say Hi and thank us and tell us more about the dishes. He said he foraged the mushrooms himself! This young chef obviously loves what he does and has a passion for it. You can taste it in his wonderful dishes. They were also offering bottles of wine to purchase for your meal. It was Canyon Road a California vineyard. We got the Pinot Noir, and loved it! Well as you can see we were happy with our dining experience and wish Jake the best of luck in his career. Charley’s is luck to have him. Cheers

Lunch was delicious! We sat outside on the patio, it started pouring! We were under a balcony-so we stayed very dry. We came here for my grandmas birthday! Service was good! They even brought out a slice of cheese cake for my grandma(on the house)

Navajo taco should be called Navajo Tostada. Kind of like an elephant ear with taco dressing on it. Seemed ok and worth a try. Sounds more interesting with the zagat recommendation. Service was shabby {3pm ish}. Had to remind about drinks and silverware. Perhaps the the place is really a live music joint. 15minutes to get the check… Uhggggg.

I give this place 5 stars for service and only 3 stars for the food. They gave us peaches and cream to start with our coffee. And then we ordered the cinnamon pancakes with the eggs, bacon & toast breakfast. the location is great being right in the heart of downtown flagstaff. I may have to come back and try this place for lunch or dinner. The portions are good where you can share the half stack of pancakes.

The food was good but the services was not. There were only a couple of people in there when we went in for breakfast. We ordered the Navajo Taco, French Toast, and Pancakes. It took forever to get our drinks(tea and coffee) and then took a really long time to get our food. The waitress was not interested in being there. When she brought our bill, she didn’t bother to clear away any of our dirty plates. When she came back to pick up the credit card she still didn’t clear anything. I’m giving it three stars because the food was good but the staff sure could use some training.

If you were to ask me to sum up my experience here in a few words it would be: Consistently good. Nice atmosphere. Friendly service. My family and I have made it into Charly’s on several occasions and we have always had a great time. And we will be back!

Wow this place is great! I was in Flagstaff for work and this was a recommendation from my local colleagues. It’s located inside the Weatherford Hotel and the décor is beautiful and interesting. I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant as well as the food and drink. The service was beyond attentive and helpful and both the waiter and host were very friendly. I am vegetarian and gluten-free and while there weren’t many options for me, what I ordered was phenomenal. I had a grilled portobello mushroom sandwich without the bun and sweet potato fries. I asked the waiter for a local beer recommendation and that was very good too. This place is definitely worth checking out if you’re in the Flagstaff area!

The only times I really eat here is for munchies with drinks. The nachos and sliders are the best! But on occasion, on days that I crave French onion soup, this is where I can get it! Tons of good crusty and bubbly cheese with the delish onion broth that is flavorful and never want of seasoning. It comes with the house brown bread that is so good. It sounds silly, but they have tomato salad dressing that I LOVE, and so my usual meal is the soup and a salad. An excellent meal at that!

My two favorite things about Charly’s are the Arizona memorabilia on the walls and the second floor balcony that offers great views of Flagstaff. The staff is pretty shitty. Charly’s has several bars, one of them had a live band and cover charge, in order to go to a different bar we were told to talk to the hostess. There were three hostess in a deep conversation about boyfriends, it would be rude to interrupt them so we just stared at them until they were ready to help us, good times. My date had some friends in the downstairs bar so we met up with them. We sat there for a good ten minutes and not one employee walked through there so we went upstairs to grab a drink. The bartender up there was bitchy and gave us attitude for trying to use a card to pay for our drinks. We scrounged up the cash and I tipped her with quarters to which she rolled her eyes. I just smiled and said«sorry, we spent it all at the titty bar.» Even though I had a one star experience I’m still giving it four because I’ve had great times at Charly’s in the past.
