Tacos Los Altos

I love their food, but everytime I order a diet soda they give me a regular, causing me to toss it. I even asked once and told it was, well either diet has sugar in it or she was lying. If it was 1 time ok but not when it happed everytime I ordereda drink theu the take out window,

Passing through Flagstaff to get to the grand canyon and found this place through Unilocal.If you want good Mexican food I recommend this place. We ordered the breakfast burritos. One with sausage and one with bacon. Both were delicious. Also an adobado burrito that tasted delicious. Best part are the flour tortillas. They almost seem homemade. I also ordered the tripe mini taquito. Best one I have ever had. Congratulations tacos los altos. Your food is the best.

Stopped here while driving through. Saw it had good reviews, but once we got inside it was so packed there was no where to sit. The food was below average and ended up giving my sister in law and my husband diarrhea as soon as they were done. The salsa bar was basically empty and the salsa wasn’t even salsa, it was tomato paste.

Awesome. Every. Single. Time.
Consistent. Excellent plating for such simple dishes.

The ultimate hidden gem. I have taken people to this place all the time. Careful you might be the only white person in there.
Awesome salsa bar and the food is amazing. Get the Carne Asada Burrito. Every time I’m on that side of town, this is THE PLACE to grub.

Veggie Burrito is amazing!

I love this place, the shrimp tacos are my absolute favorite. The salsas are fresh and tasty. And I DIE for the watermelon agua fresca, sooooo delicious!

Fish tacos were excellent but shrimp fajitas were very bland. Used a lot of hot sauce on them. Prices are reasonable.

I may be a bit biased coming from California, land of burritos, but this place was a terrible experience. Apparently their idea of a carne asada burrito is just a block of low-​grade beef wrapped in a tortilla. My boyfriend had to throw his out after eating half (which was 100% cheap carne asada) The remaining half was literally a sack of pico de gallo with no meat or anything else. If you could even call them «burritos», they were the most disappointing ones we’ve ever had. :(

Even better than the first time. Yum! Fast fast service and tasty! burritos and fajitas both super good. Muy Rico.

The Unilocal reviews were spot-​on! Excellent quick-​Mex, authentic and tasty. Reasonably priced too! I had the Chimichanga meal and a mini-​taquito (small, soft corn taco)
I’ll be back to try more items.

This is the real greasy spoon family type experience, Mexican style. The food is ordered at the counter. Your flag goes on your table. Your food finds where ever you choose to sit. It’s the best food you will eat on styrofoam plates with plastic ware. It’s very good. The verde sauce is dangerously hot! The two chili rellenos combo was pretty filling. It was served with either tortillas or corn wraps. The rice is more traditional than most Mexican places. The beans could use bacon dripping or real fat. The chimichanga (with pork) was too big to fit in the divided part of the plate. Nice flavor and again loaded with stuff as toppings. The place is really affordable. The Googlemap location is off.

needed a quick bite for an overdue lunch. tried the shrimp, adobada, and fish tacos. the fish tacos were absolutely top notch.
tacos are served with different toppings based on the protein.

A delicious quick eat in the Flag area. Nothing fancy but everything was fresh and fast.
The bathrooms are a little lacking though. Went with a friend who has a baby, and there was nowhere to change a diaper. Had to go back out to the car and make do.

At first site, my husband and I were like…“wtf it’s a drive thru Mexican fast food place?!” Then we decided «f*%* it we’ll try it!»
I got the chimichanga dinner and he got a cheese enchilada and 2 shredded beef tacos. And all I have to say is DAYUM that’s some good food! Best chimichanga I’ve ever had and he said he found his new favorite taco!
Positive — 1. Fast fast fast! We had our order within 4 minutes of ordering!
2. We paid before at the register so we didn’t have to wait for some piss poor waitress who hated her life to finally get back around to bringing us our ticket and having to wait for her to drag her feet across the building and back
3. Was super hot and super fresh!
Negative — 1. Plastic plates and forks… My food was so hot my fork tips melted… but is that really negative??!
2. Small dining area but not too bad.

Stopped in for TLA’s hard-​shelled shredded beef tacos. YUM!
I crave them every week. I must admit the first time I tried TLA I was not impressed but they have completely won me over.

This is my favorite place to get tacos in the mountain region. There may be better, but I haven’t found it. The food is exceptional, fresh, and tasty. It’s worth the drive from Colorado just to eat here.

I would like to start by stating that I am not associated with this restaurant. I am not a burrito expert. I am not a connoisseur of Mexican food, nor am I a huge fan of burritos apart from an occasional one of the breakfast variety; which even then, I very rarely seek one out. However, with this place I feel I have discovered the new gold standard burrito wise to the point where I will actively seek this place out.
Onto the burrito. As you may have guessed, It was amazing. I ordered a bacon egg and potato burrito. At first I was worried about it since the food was wrapped in a light brown tortilla. Whenever I see that, I think about those high fiber or whole wheat tortillas you can by in the store that shame the good name of tortillas. I am not sure why it was brown, but it did not resemble them at all. Tastewise it was a little bland, however, I believe this was a good thing, since it allowed the contents to really shine as they certainly did here.
One of my problems with burritos is that oftentimes I can only taste one ingredient. However that was not the case here. The eggs were the main filler of as is usually the case with most breakfast burritos. However rather than being dry and cooked uneven, these were soft and very consistent throughout. The potatoes were also present throughout, and they were lightly seasoned as well. Lastly, the thick cut bacon was flavorful and was perfectly integrated within to the point that it didn’t overpower the rest of the ingredients. All three of these
Additionally, I would also suggest that you check out the salsa bar. The mild salsa was fresh and flavorful, and although I am a wimp when it comes to spicy food, I can say my dining companion enjoyed it as well and stated that it had the right amount of heat. Given that they are from Tucson and a fan of hot sauce in general, I tend to subvert to his opinion those matters.
Lastly, I want to add that the watermelon juice that they have was great, and very fresh tasting. I had never had watermelon juice that actually tasted like fresh watermelon. I am not sure what brand they use, but it was fantastic.
Overall, for a hole in the wall type Mexican fast food place, this is probably the best that I have visited in AZ. Now excuse me while I go back to get another one,
