The Suites

I lived in The Suites my entire senior year at NAU. It was not a great experience to be honest. While the place was clean and brand new, it was smaller than the place I stayed over summer (the old buildings), it was always stuffy. I always had my windows open, but for one full semester, I was not able to turn my heater off. It didn’t get fixed until the end despite counting calls to the front desk and maintainence. There is too big of furniture for such a small space.
Over summer, the place is incredibly overheated despite having box fans in the windows. It got up to 101° in my room.
Over winter break, they must have turned off the hot water. I complained to the front desk. Nobody ever came to check or fix it. Cold showers my entire winter break. Yeah, some people go home. but I worked in Flagstaff all winter and other people were there; could’ve at least tried to fix it. Other people had the same issue.
The amenities are not that great. The theatre was never working. They’d say «oh it’ll be fixed by this date», so you book it a month in advance, go in, and «oh it’s still not working.»
The staff (FRONT DESK) is always oblivious. They do the bare minimum to get their free rent. They aren’t able to answer 99% of the questions you ask. They aren’t helpful. And when you get a call/​email about having a package, there may be a chance they can’t find it. sometimes it’s on the desk in front of them. I actually had two packages that went «unfound» for over a month after it was delivered. They found it eventually. but a month later.
Yes, the space is in shape and I took care of it, but I would never recommend living here. Not worth the money at all and the service is terrible.
Oh, and I had to be moved out the same day I graduated. Move out, 12pm. Graduated at 5pm. $ 75 late fee on top of a FULL months rent for what, 7 freaking days. THE DUMBEST THING EVER. Have fun being stressed out, we don’t care about you.
Worst place ever. Not helpful. Not quick. Don’t live here.
Update: Most of my security deposit was not refunded because my neighbor/​suite mate smoked in her room. I complained during the year about this because I am asthmatic and nothing was done. So they shouldn’t have been surprised when they got an earful about this absurd charge.
