We came here for lunch on a weekday and opted for sushi instead of hibachi. Got seated right away as it was not busy. Service was prompt and the décor is pleasant. I had the Ramen with Spicy Tuna Maki Combo and my companion had the Salmon Lunch Box. The food came quick and my dish was tasty but not spectacular. The only knock is the rice that came with the lunch box was a bit too greasy for our taste. Overall a good experience and would go back again.

This is a review for hibatchi only bc the sushi is good. OK, three strikes and you’re out! I wanted so bad to love this place bc we love hibatchi and its in our town, but it is expensive so we expect it to be good. They have a set up for 4 potential cooking groups at a time. Forget about the last disaster. Ill talk about this time. Its just one mess up after another. 1 cook 2 waitresses and 1 is a deer in the headlights. Cook worked his butt off! Food so so. for 31 bucks scallops were small and lacked flavor and not crisp on the outside, and the filet mignon was chewy. Noodles, rice, and shrimp good. They re understaffed so drinks dont get refilled. They put one of our meals on the people;s check that were sitting with us, then forgot to charge them for their drinks and had to redo again. They should have just given them drinks for free at this point. Wouldnt take $ 10 off $ 100 coupon bc they said kids meals dont count… well maybe they should write that on the coupon!!! Plus 2 hours there is rediculous!!! Oh well im done. If you go, good luck!

I’ve been meaning to try Wasabi for awhile now. I was enticed by their childrens sushi so after running errands one day, I dragged my children there with promises that they could get dessert if they tried something new. We were greeted and sat immediately, and the server brought over the kid-friendly chopsticks right away, which was a really nice touch. My little one ordered french fry sushi which is exactly as it sounds. French fries rolled in rice, wrapped in sea weed. She had a few rolls, and then decided to just deconstruct the whole thing to eat only the french fries. at least she tried something new. And I have to say, it wasn’t entirely unappetizing although I prefer my rolls with actual sushi. The rest of us started with the tuna dumpling, and then ordered a few rolls. The sweetie roll, with mango sauce and sliced strawberries on top had the right amount of sweetness to balance out the rolls. My mom ordered something with lboster salad and scallops and she loved it. Everything was delicious and presented beautifully. We didn’t wait long between appetizer and entrée. My only complaint is that my older daughter ordered the chicken teryaki, which they bring from the hibachi section. The chicken wasn’t the best. She ate it anyway, but it’s a disappointment only because they do everything else so well. The good news is that now we know to stick with sushi. As promised, we split the green tea tempura ice cream. It was perfection. It was so good, that even the little one promised to eat more sushi if we can go back for more ice cream. I told her it was a deal.

Update — another solid meal. Dumpling soup continues to be delicious. Flower roll(where a cucumber is used as the roll instead of the rice) was slimy and not to my liking. Needed more contrasting texture. Eel, salmon, Boston, avocado, and fried oyster rolls all pretty good. Very good. Take-out. Had a sweet potato roll, Spider roll, avocado roll, Mango tango roll — all great. Dumpling soup was very unique, though was more of a deconstructed dumpling and not as you might expect a dumpling soup to be. Side salad was smaller than I would have liked. Solid meal for an area without a lot of diversity in food. Would definitely come back. Tip — all the rolls are served on the same platter. Great for families, but perhaps you’d want it broken up differently.

Ordered here for hibachi lunch. It was okay, I’ve had better though. I ordered the steak with both fried rice and noodles, paid extra since it only comes with one for lunch, and it came out to $ 16. That’s fairly reasonable. The steak was way overcooked though, it was dry and I couldn’t really chew it. Food was kinda salty as well, drank a whole bottle of water while eating my meal. Other than that, it’s a decent meal. Nice little place though, maybe I’ll try the sushi next time.

Went there for a late night sushi date(an hour before they closed) even called before to make sure it was OK we came in and the women said«no worries!» Got there and was approached by a rude waitress who said«you do know were closing soon» which put me off and made us feel like an inconvenience. My fiancé got an entrée box but asked for a different sushi roll and offered to pay extra for the change when the waitress said«ABSOLUTELYNOT». Puzzled he said«okay» We got our dinner and the entire time we ate we felt the staff kept peaking out of the kitchen area to see if we were done, which made us feel extremely uncomfortable. My fiances tuna roll was tastess. My Mt. Olive roll was OK but the«toppings» were flavorless and added little to the taste of the sushi, ive had better sushi with more vibrant flavors and was disappointed as the reviews for wasabi were so high. The only thing i was impressed with was the actual appearance and décor of the place itself.

We’ve lived in the area for years but never gave this place much thought. Being nestled in a strip mall it never seemed to catch our eye and only discovered it through revies on Unilocal. This was our first time here but absolutely won’t be our last. The place is lovely, the staff is super friendly and extremely attentive and the sushi was fresh and delicious. Can’t say enough about the experience and the food. Can’t wait to come back again!

We have had takeout from here twice now. The food was very good. My husband had sushi and both times the rolls were very fresh and the menu you had a great variety with some unique options. I had hibachi chicken which included fried rice, noodles, and stir fry veggies. I found it a little greasy, but still good! We also felt it was a little bit pricey(especially the chicken).

Spot on sushi! My husband doesn’t like sushi but he gets the hibachi. We get it for take out so I can’t say much for he décor or wait but the food is amazing! I get the spicy California roll. They are also good and kind of improvising sushi rolls, sometimes I just ask for something spicy and crunchy and they serve! Can’t beat that! Enjoy!

The décor was the best thing about this restaurant. I’m no sushi snob but the rolls I got lacked flavor and elegance. They were all too big and seemed too Americanized. If that’s what you want you may like this place, but if you’re looking for a more traditional sushi place, try Blossom in Mt. Arlington!

Very good hibachi and sushi… fresh, clean place. Would love it if the prices were slightly lower because it’s hard to take the whole family. Maybe I will have to see if hibachi lunch prices are lower? Went there for Valentine’s Day on a whim, w/o a reservation and we only waited about 30 mins… for a small and busy place, that was record time. Love the BYOB option to keep the costs down

Great food. This is my sons favorite restaurant and probably the best Japanese restaurant in the area. I love the Eel here. Tuna may not be the best. Still very good

Have ordered in once and taken out once. Both times I paid more than I expected to, but… my taste buds were happy, even if my wallet whined a little. I’m all about the Pretty Roll – fish is flavorful and they skip the seaweed for what I believe is soy paper… it was just so delicious. 3 rolls fed me dinner when I was starving and then a snack the next day. My one major gripe is that I ordered miso with the take out order, expecting a pint container, and got a ½ pint, hardly enough to fill a cup, let alone pass for a bowl of soup. What’s up with that? The upside — fresh, tasty fish, clever roll combinations, convenient location, and friendly, attentive staff. And from the other reviews – 10% off for paying cash? Who knew? I’ll have to try that next time! Wish I could give it a 4.5.

I’ve been told by friends that this place serves good sushi. I finally had a chance to check it out this past weekend. First off, it’s located in a strip mall so I didn’t expect much from the décor. It’s a log bigger and nicer than I would have guessed. It was a Friday night and there was a good number of people there, but we were seated at a table for 4 right away. The sushi menu is quite extensive. They have a large variety and a lot of sushi rolls that I haven’t seen at other places. We were hungry so we ordered 7 rolls along with seaweed salad and an avocado salad. The seaweed salad could have been better, but everything was delicious. The fish is very fresh like many other people have mentioned. The servers were friendly enough and the meal moved along nicely, we didn’t have to wait long at all. They were attentive and cleared the table when the timing was right and my water glass stayed filled. They have 4 tables for hibachi at the back of the restaurant, which was a nice surprise. My wallet won’t be happy that I found a great sushi spot so close to home, but my stomach will. I’m not sure what happened that day the one reviewer went and said it was awkwardly quiet… not at all. They had music on and the atmosphere was filled with conversation. Even the bathrooms were nice and clean which counts a lot in my book. This shows me they are paying attention to detail. I highly recommend giving Wasabi a try. I can’t get back soon enough

A group of friends and I went here for dinner the other night for Hibachi and had a great time. None of us had had ever been here before and we all enjoyed our meal. Our chef was great and interacted with us as he prepared our dinner in front us. They have a fantastic looking sushi menu so next time I go there I plan on checking out a few of their specialty rolls.
