LOVE this park! Went here for the first time this past Saturday(1−9−16). For this time of year, the place was unusually busy. There were several people fishing, kids playing & a few dog walkers. Nice playground & picnic areas. Seems to be well maintained. Beautiful little place!

Grew up coming to this park. Has a wonderful walk/bike path. Has a new playground and a cool ridge to walk onto. So many memories.

Love this small park… movie in the park. I cant wait for fire works. I did see a coyote there twice at night. That was scarey.

This has always been a to go place for me. It used to be more prettier, I think. City of Flat Rock should invest more money in this park… I remember a lot more trees, which make me sad that they seemed to be cut down… However I grew up here and this park has seen me grow from a child running around in all the Michigan seasons, to a teen enjoying kisses while watching tutrles sunbathe with her crush to sharing broken hearts with nature through writings in a book, to a woman coming back to visit her family from an unruly and busy San Diego.

Good fishing spot in early spring and summer .kids really enjoy the variety of different fish they catch in the water here. Also enjoy the firework shows and the little festivals they have there in summertime

One of the best things about Flat Rock, a community that I am just now learning about. Huroc Park is big and spacious, well maintained and a great spot to spend an afternoon. In the summer time the park is filled with the hustle and bustle of families enjoying the playground equipment, the fishing opportunities, bird watching or any number of other things. The park also hosts special events like Riverfest and Country Jam, both of which are great ways to enjoy a free event with the family. The(within a year) recently completed Downriver Linked Greenways trails provide lots of walking and biking opportunities to enjoy, and occasionally you’ll even see a kayaker or three enjoying the river. This past summer, on one special day, I even saw a small group of 15 or so people dressed in superhero costumes taking pictures near some of the large trees near the water. They looked like they were having a blast. Earlier today I saw dozens of ducks and geese wandering through the near-empty snow covered park. They were also enjoying not-yet-frozen spots in the lake as a lone ice-fisherman cast his line on the riverbank.

My daughter and i walk there and feed the ducks and geese. The park is clean and they have lights that go on in the dark so you are safe.

What a cute little park! My husband and I noticed that there was supposed to be a paved path being built from Oakwoods Metropark to Huroc Park, but it was still in the planning stages in early summer. We went back in early October, and the path was finished! It’s currently in very good condition and tons of cyclists and walkers were out and about on a sunny weekend morning. The path from Oakwoods takes you a couple miles to Huroc Park, a charming little island park. Many people were walking dogs or fishing in the Huron River, and the park appeared to be well maintained. Biking weather is coming to a close pretty soon, but we plan to head back to Willow Metropark and bike from there through Oakwoods and up to Huroc again on the next nice day, or perhaps in the spring.
