This is not a review about Bashi Channel’s food which is excellent. It’s about their delivery system and costumer service. On Sunday 6⁄19 night I placed an order via Seamless at 7:59 pm, Bashi Channel confirmed it at 8:17pm. I live exactly 0.7 miles away. Afte 9:30 pm I started to worry so I called the restaurant at 9:40 pm and was told the delivery person had left with a few orders and that it was on its way. The restaurant closes at 10pm on Sundays. As of 10:45 pm no food had shown up. Again, the food at Bashi Channel is great and prior to last night, they had been reliable and quick when it came to delivery. Who knows… maybe they had some issues. But I wouldn’t know, since there was 0 communication from the restaurant or the delivery person. So Bashi Channel is good for eating in, but don’t count on them to deliver on time or at all. It is now Tuesday, June 21 and I’m still waiting for a refund for my order that never arrived.

I always love new restaurants, so when this opened up, I couldn’t wait to try it. I ordered the Bao and miso chili pork dumplings Although they are small servings, They both had great flavor.

Finally made my way to try Bashi. The bar is cute and inviting. Sat at the bar because it was happy hour and ordered my food. The bartender was kind of rude… But the food was pretty good. I got the BAshi noodle with roast pork. Yummmmm! My husband got the Dan Dan. Beware!!! It is sooooooooooooo spicy(he isn’t sensitive to spice at all) that he guzzled water down and his lips still burned. But the flavor was great he said. We also had some sweet chicken wings that was ok. Overall will try some other things on their menu.

This is currently my favorite neighborhood restaurant. I’ll start with our usuals: Green Papaya Salad with Shrimp — refreshing & slightly spicy, I need this with every meal! Dan Dan Noodles — heavenly hot with Szechuan peppercorns, al dente noodles Miso Soy Glazed Short Ribs of Beef — I love this so much it’s hard to order a different entrée. It’s a huge rib, meat so tasty and tender, falling off the bone. Mashed potatoes are neither soupy nor lumpy, refreshing kale salad with citrus Steak and Fried Rice — Very tender, tasty steak. Yummy fried rice with an egg on top I had been noticing the Bashi Burgers, and finally caved and ordered one last week. I sprang for the extra Dan Dan spicy pork on top. I eat a burger maybe once a year, and usually feel it wasn’t worth it. This one was very much worth devouring. Not to mention the Togarashi(Japanese pepper mix) fries, which were not overly spiced. Portions are large, and if we have the Dan Dan Noodles, we usually take half home. Finally, my favorite drink there, and almost anywhere — the Dragon’s Breath. Think hot margarita. The service is always very good, though we once were served only one Short Rib entrée, as the server thought the Dan Dan noodles was an entrée. She was very apologetic, and we decided not to wait 15 min for the second entrée. She comped us donuts for desert, which we thought was appropriate enough.

Went here for the first time and sadly, this place was disappointing. The food was either bland or the flavors were really off. We got the short rib ramen. The meat was excellent but there wasn’t enough(2 pieces). Also, there was a very weird flavor — almost like fermented wine — that threw off the whole dish. I split it with my partner and we couldn’t even finish it. We also ordered the Bashi salad — just ok — and some fried rolls — bland and boring. Their drinks were too expensive for the area so we had beer. Thankfully, they have Shiner Ruby Redbird on tap which was a highlight! We live so close and would love to support local restaurants, but we won’t be going back here unless it’s for a happy hour.

Had the Korean chicken Ramen. Only down side of this dish was the portion of the meat, otherwise I thought it tasted great. Will go back and try the Dan Dan next time.

If you’re a fan of spicy, 10000% order the Dan Dan. It’s so good and will leave your mouth on fire. I get it once a week. The little doughnuts are so good too, dumplings aren’t that bad either. It’s a pretty popular spot and gets packed pretty often but you can grab a drink at the small but chill bar while you wait.

I have been here several times and after most recent visit decided to write a review because this place is always on point. I have never experienced bad service here, always good service, with excellent recommendations and very filling. On the most recent visit we tried their soup dumplings, the tofu dumplings, the jian omelette and pad thai. Everything was great I just would like to see more vegetarian and vegan options simply because we like to take our friends here who are visiting from out of town and a lot of them are vegetarian and even vegan. I find it confusing why a spring roll is not vegetarian. I really wanted to give 5 stars because I like this place so much but I can’t because I can’t share the love with my friends who have dietary restrictions.

Walked in here after leaving a lackluster spot. Atmosphere was great. Food was wonderful. Waitstaff was professional. Kitchen was clean. We didn’t have to get our own cutlery or menus. We each ordered good dishes and it satisfied everyone. I will be coming back to have more goodness.

Terribly disappointing. Some of the worst service I’ve ever experienced in NYC. We were asked multiple times at every course if we were done and if the waitstaff could take our plates. Does anyone working here realize how rude this is? When you are paying this amount for food the service should at least be acceptable. It definitely isn’t here. We waited 25 minutes for a table and were rushed through our meal. Speak of the meal… It was very mediocre. They serve everything accompanied by Siracha sauce and for good reason– you need something to pour onto their bland food. I refuse to write anymore and waste my time and yours. DON’T EATHERE. There are plenty of delicious options in the area. AVOIDTHISONE!!!

Decent ramen. Pricey at $ 14 but when you want ramen and can’t hit up momofuku it will do. Fresh ingredients but the soup broth is on the salty side. The curry and the miso broth are way salty but if you drink a little with the ramen it’s not too bad.

I give 3 stars for overall experience. Food was wonderful, really great. Service was not so good. Food came very slow. We waiting over 40min after ordering and as I looked around NOONE in the entire restaurant had a plate of food in front of them. I was never asked for water and the waitress tried to take my food even while I was eating. The third stile was, mid sentence while ordering desert she walked away. Reviews seem over all decent. I will give it another try if I can overlook their horrible service.

Every evening I go to and from physical therapy I drive through Cortelyou Rd. near the(Q) line and I’ve realized a boom of trendy businesses appearing. I’ve always had the intention of stepping into one, yet I have never until one evening. A friend of mine, Kashif meets up with me and wants to hit the gym in which I decide to bring him with me in here for a first as a pre-workout meal. It’s very very small in here which to my liking, adds to its intimacy! They somehow managed to also squeeze in a bar in the corner upon entry. I had the Bashi Burger(w/fries) and man it so good! It’s a popular dish here. The burger doesn’t even taste like your average burger! It’s lighter, but still filling and doesn’t taste or feel unhealthy one bit! And the fries?! Fuhgedaboudit! Since then, I’ve returned several times. I’ve also tried other popular dishes. One is the Korean BBQ Chicken Ramen which went from being merely a special to a permanent staple on the menu. It was my first time having the ever growingly popular ramen. It was delicious and certainly different with a few bits of chicken and a boiled egg, it was the right mix of hot and spicy. I came here with a cold and it helped to knock out. Speaking of knocking out, the bartender Rachel is just so perfect! Not only is she very sociable, she knows her stuff! She served me some Hot Toddys with my ramen to knock out my cold and it was heaven-sent to say the least! I love it here so much, I’ve been here several times in the past month with Kashif and my younger brother, Peterson and we love it! We even call it «our spot» and refer to it as such whenever we feel like meeting up for a bite and light chit chat! Listen! I love this place and you’d be hard pressed to find me expressing anything contrary at all ever! Why? Because I’ve never been given any reason to! Kudos to Bashi Channel!

Monday night after the blizzard and I had some serious cabin fever. Yes, I know I could have gotten out on Sunday, but there was some serious football to watch. I sat at the bar. First off, I tried the Dragon’s Breath Margarita, the bartender checked with me to make sure I wanted it because she only had enough of the mix for one(since I usually like my booze on the rocks sans-juicey juice, I said let’s do it) I was grateful she was considerate enough to make me aware. The mix was sweet and heat and i liked the lingering subtle habanero heat from the drink… So far so good. I started with the Tofu kimchee shitake dumplings… the fish sauce was the best part of them But honestly, I wouldn’t order the dumplings next time, unless I was sharing… too much food, eyes bigger than stomach, you know? After that I had the Shoyu Ramen with Pork. It was decent, I think there was a bit of black garlic oil in it. I ended up chatting with another patron at the bar and had some great laughs. After the first drink, I turned to Casamigos, and it was a decent pour… i could give 5 stars alone. So the long story short is 4 stars for now, I will return and if it warrants more stars, I will update as so. It’s a cozy, dimly lit restaurant with a good bar, great for the area. 4 stars

As a vegetarian who lives for ramen, I’m really grateful that Bashi Channel exists, close to the Courtelyou Q stop. There is definitely better ramen lots of other places, but I always enjoy myself at BC. With regard to the food, the items I’ve had include: –vegetarian dumplings — decent, but not super flavorful and slightly weird texture –various vegetarian ramen — all warming and filling and flavorful, though on one occasion the broth was oddly weak, and I always add a ton of sriracha, which shouldn’t really be necessary –seitan bao — decent, and awesome that it’s on the menu, though not the best seitan texture, nor the more flavorful –whiskey — got what i ordered! The good: the atmosphere is pleasant. It’s cozy and appropriately dim at night, with a full bar and plenty of options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The not-so-good: the bartenders always seem super nice, but the waiters are often a little weird. Not rude, but one that has served me a couple of times speaks almost inaudibly. I almost never mention anything negative about service, but it has been a little odd to sit and wait for a drink for half an hour, and never be followed up with, etc… Especially given the price, which, considering it’s not the greatest food, is a little steep.

Duck confit ramen sounds like a wonderfully delicious idea, but was unfortunately one of the most disappointing bowls of ramen I’ve ever had. It was too salty, I poured in half my glass of water, but still struggled to finish even half of it! The oil from the duck was also overwhelming and swimming above the soup. I normally have no qualms with Asian Fusion, but this spot was a miss. With such excellent reviews and a promising menu, my expectations may have been too high, but if you’re looking for quality ramen, I suggest elsewhere.

I was so excited to try this place and it looked so cute. I’ve ordered delivery from here only, not been there in person. The $ 6 hot dog(Singular, boring tasting hot dog) is listed as «hot dogs» and is described in plural form on the ordering pages on Grub Hub. They offer two toppings — the woman who called when I asked for one of each was nasty and said it’s only one hot dog, and which topping do I want. She got it wrong. Great job! The hot dog was flavorless and so was the banh mi salad on top of it. And it was small. Not worth it! I was so excited for the brisket bao. The brisket was good, but it didn’t work with the bao. It was a weird, okay, overpriced experience. The donuts were burnt, and they were the best part. Basically, I spent $ 30 all together to have literally a TOTAL of FIVEBITES of food FORTHREEITEMS(my partner and I split it, so it was 10 bites total. We finished our whole meal in 4 minutes. Tiny portions, not great flavors, and not great phone etiquette. Go somewhere else.

I would rate Bashi Channel four and half stars if I could. For starters, we shared the soup dumplings, brisket bao, and the vegetarian bao. The soup dumplings were on par with most of the soup dumplings that I’ve had in New York. For those new to soup dumplings, be careful because they are hot! Baos were really good. Each had an assortment of veggies and a delicious sauce. I’d love to see a duck bao option too since these were executed so well. For dinner, we shared a crispy chicken special. The dish comprised of two drumsticks and one thigh deep fried with a well seasoned breading plated over a vegetable egg noodle pancake and hot sauce. The fried chicken was delicious. It was the best that came to memory. The skin was very crispy, flavorful, and not overbearingly doughy like some other fried chicken is. The inside was cooked perfectly and fell off the bone. The vegetable egg noddle pancake was fantastic as well. The top noodles were crunchy while the bottom noodles were moist from the sauce. I highly recommend this dish if it’s on special while you’re there. For dessert, we had the fried doughnuts. The name is misleading because the fried doughnuts were actually thin fried layers of dough; think of a fried dough sheet or an unraveled diple. The dough sheets were fried with sesame seeds and topped with sugar. They also came with a coffee dipping sauce which reminded me of the syrup that is placed in between layers of Eastern European waffle cakes. All in all, it was an interesting dessert. I probably would opt for the mochi or a different special when I return. Lastly, the service was excellent. We were seated promptly and it did not take much time for our orders to be taken. Our water glasses were refilled quickly. There was a mix-up up with how many entrees we ordered and the mix-up was resolved immediately without any qualms whatsoever. The professionalism was outstanding! I’d definitely recommend Bashi Channel for those dining in North Flatbush.

Ordered: Marinated korean brisket seitan, and Miso noodles Pros– The brisket was flavorful and tender. The ramen was incredible. The ginger, pork and corn brought out a great combo of spicy, savory, and sweet. Prices were very reasonable and the service was attentive. Cons– The seating was cramped close together.

Tried this place out this past Thursday night and loved it! My fiancé and I tried the chicken lemongrass dumplings that came with different sauces and it was so good! We also had the curry ramen noodles w/pork and the tom yum shrimp ramen noodles. The curry ramen noodles were EVERYTHING! Great blend of flavors and everything tasted fresh. The tom yum was also pretty good, but had a strong tomato-y taste to it. Drinks and customer service were on point as well. All around good vibes here. Good to have this place in the neighborhood now, I will definitely be back!
