first time I’ve ever been there and the atmosphere is upbeat and the employees are fairly welcoming. the ingredients is fresh and the service is fast. The pita sandwiches are pretty good too and you know you’re eating healthy there as well. I would definitely go back and eat there again.

I have always enjoyed pita pit. They have so many choices of sandwiches rolled into a soft pita. I usually get the chicken souvlaki because I find it is usually fresh and flavorful. They do have gyros but I wouldn’t recommend it as it is just frozen meat similar to what you can get at the grocery store. They have lots of fresh vegetables and will grill any upon request. They also have great sauces and spreads such as hummus or tatziki. The only reason I knocked off a star is because the service is kind of spotty. While the associates are very friendly, I have sat out in the restaurant waiting for an associate to come out for more than 5 plus minutes which can be excessive and it has happened multiple times. Overall the food is fresh and tasty you just might need to wait for someone to come and take your order.

Wonderful customer service! And very clean restaurant! The staff was very friendly and patient while trying to decide what to order. Pita pit is one of my favorite places to stop by to grab a quick bite to eat, great prices and even better food! I recommend the bang bang chicken pita… absolutely delicious!

The perfect spot for a quick lunch. Healthy food options and fresh ingredients are a must, and Pita Pit has it. Try one of their smoothies while you’re at it– mango tango is my favorite.

When my friend suggested we go here I was excited because she said she loves it and I love trying new places! I was already set on a gyro, and I love Mediterranean food so I was thinking of hummus and tabouli… yummy! Well when we walked in it was so… different??? I have never had a pita like the one I got here… they rip open the pita and kinda stuff it??? Mind blown! Lol They have Mediterranean foods but they also have standard lunch meat sandwiches too, but the concept is you pick the meat or your protein they heat it up on the flattop then you get to pick what you want stuffed in the pita. Kinda like subway, veggies, cheese, sauces, then they add the protein and wrap it up! Tasty stuff

The food is fresh and delicious. The staff is helpful and friendly. It was my first time here and I was encouraged to take my time and was given suggestions based on any taste. I chose the hummus pita and then had it loaded with spinach, tomatoes, black olives, sprouts, provolone cheese and topped with tzatziki. They have fruit smoothies too but I was too full to try one. The prices are very reasonable and they had a check in special on Unilocal.I really like this place and I will go back.

AVOID! The cheapo owner has a tip jar at the counter, you would think if you put money in the jar it would go to the kids working there. Well think again, the deserving workers do not get the tips. It goes straight to the owner. How petty!

Great food, good prices and friendly staff. Pita Pit was our go to spot to go to late night in Gainesville, I thought I hit the lottery once this place opened on the island. Very healthy food, fresh ingredients, I do not eat at subway anymore after eating here. Support your local businesses! They offer several differnt varities and have smoothies as well.

I’ve passed by The Pita Pit many times, by this point, on the way to class and have seen it pop in the Unilocal search on my phone when looking for a place to eat in Fleming Island. I finally popped in late yesterday afternoon for a bite to eat before my 5:30 class. Do not let the prices hold you back. I know it’s about $ 5 to $ 7 for a pita, but it’s worth it. with how fresh everything comes out to be. Once you pick your meat(if you are having any), it gets grilled up. As you are waiting for it, you pick what you want in your pita. The Pita Pit gets über thumbs up from me for having alfalfa sprouts and spinach! I ended up ordering a Club with no cheese, but I add tons of veggies. Alfalfa sprouts and spinach, like I said, peppercinis, cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, onions, as well as salt, pepper, and mustard. Compared to the likes of Firehouse or Subway, there are many more condiment sauces to choose from at The Pita Pit than there are at those other places. They could stand to add a few other choices of veggies for an even broader selection which would be awesome. The Pita Pit is a little heavy on the wallet, but a great, healthy meal.

Super fresh & healthy on the island! I’ve been here a few times and the staff is ever so friendly with great attitudes. The place is nice & clean. I order the same thing here when I come(the hummus pita) & I always leave with a satisfied veggie belly. :) During normal lunch hour you can wait in a longer line, but it usually moves pretty quickly and is well worth the wait. The month of March, I believe, is $ 4.99ALLPITAS so you can splurge on the drink & some chips. Overall, a solid place to get something relatively healthy without breaking the bank. Five stars for this location!

Pita pit is a great alternative to typical fast food. The ingredients are always fresh and the food is always very tasty. Unfortunately, the parking lot is often very crowded(which hurts it as a «fast» option, IMO) and the service isn’t always good. They tend to be pretty empty during the week and sometimes the employees seem annoyed when you walk in. Also, it’s a little pricey for what it is, which is why I don’t visit as much as I might like!
