Great food and friendly staff slow service after ordering at both locations but worth the weight coming from by myself these bagels are the real deal

Évaluation du lieu : 4 Asheville, NC
I’ve recently started getting breakfast here on my way to work and have to say the food is great. The prices aren’t terrible… you can easily spend it at McDonalds if your comparing. I placed my first online order today with ehh results. Got to the restaurant and asked after waiting a few minutes. Their online ordering system failed to deliver the order, which I have to say isn’t their fault as I didn’t call it in. However the manager explained what happened and told me what to expect and also offered me a coffee while I waited the extra time. I’ve been to so many other local Asheville restaurants with less than desired courtesy. These guys everyday are in a great mood from the cashier to the one that gives you your order. The place is clean and is a very nice environment. Thanks Joey’s for taking care of me!

Évaluation du lieu : 3 Fletcher, NC
This place ranks right in the middle — okay in a pinch but I’ve had better. I’ve been here three times now, with each repeated visit thinking, «I reaaaaaaally want to like Joey’s more this time.» It’s like, five minutes from my house, and to have a place around here where I could go for a decent bagel /breakfast sandwich would be ideal.(Fletcher seems to be sorely lacking in options for breakfast, unless you want McDonalds for breakfast) The Hendersonville Joey’s location seems to get such rave reviews on Unilocal; I don’t know if it’s just that each location operates differently or, maybe North Carolinians have different standards for bagels than I do. If you’re going to put«New York» in your name, your bagels had better be pretty awesome. By North Carolina standards maybe, I guess they’re okay. I’d certainly rather have a bagel from here rather that one of the chain places. But, these are certainly not New York bagels. Bagels should have a crispness on the outside, and be really light on the inside. These are just kinda doughy/chewy. Last time I went here, I got a ham, egg and cheese breakfast bagel, and I got a sliver of deli-sliced ham on it, which to me just screams amateur-hour. If I’m ordering a breakfast sammich, I want a nice thick CUT of ham(or whatever) on it, none of this weak-ass Oscar Meyer nonsense or whatever it was. They also have a pastry case(baked goods case? not sure you can call these pastries) that I’ve never once been tempted to try in my three times going to Joey’s, because none of them look all that great; pretty lackluster presentation. I know this location is pretty new compared to the other; hoping it’ll improve with age.
