Are you looking for a great place to relax, sit quietly after a long day, or simply laugh with good friends? Café Rhema is definitely that spot. The atmosphere is quiet, relaxing, and fun. The staff is friendly, inviting, and knowledgable. They are patient with my indecisiveness and help me make the right choice for me. I haven’t order any food or drink that I didn’t love. Check them out today!

The place was nice but the owner Josh was a little creepy. The atmosphere very welcoming and hip. The coffee was really good and hot. The bathrooms were clean and tidy. Although I am a Christian i was not into the jesus music playing while i was there.

Super slow service. Waited more than 20 minutes for the Chicken Pesto flatbread, which was delicious. The cook put my napkin ON the food…

The place is quaint, charming, and I felt a bit Parisian walking in here. I wished I came during the day so I could fill up on some delicious coffee, but I didn’t. I came in for a quick bite to eat before going to the Beer/Wine Fest at the Farmer’s Market that night. I soooo wanted a sandwich, but they don’t offer any with gluten free bread. bummer :/I did however, enjoy the Spring Salad: Chicken, Craisins, Walnuts, Feta Cheese, and Tomato. It was quite delish and filling. I definitely want to come back here for an espresso sometime.

When you’re in downtown Flint for a conference, you better make sure that you get your caffeine fixing in in between program sessions. Fortunately for us, Café Rhema offered us a great little escape from the hustle and bustle of the actual event. Located in the heart of Flint, I was intrigued by the labels associated with Café Rhema… coffee, sandwiches, and boba?! I am interested. A quick bite was all we needed. I ordered an egg sandwich with bacon in an English muffin($ 5) and a regular chai latte($ 4). The sandwich was not bad at all for having such simple ingredients. The egg could have used a bit of salt and pepper, but overall a solid sandwich with a fluffy muffin to complete the meal. The chai latte itself was good, but not as strong as I would have liked it to be. Overall, the atmosphere and simple, yet tasty options here at Café Rhema make a great stopover while you are in Flint. Come and rejuvenate! Sit by the window make way for some great people watching to pass the time. PS– Supposedly you get a free cookie when you check in on Unilocal, but they«ran out.» I was bummed they didn’t offer an alternative, but no use crying over spilled milk.

Great espresso and coffee drinks. Some of the other choices in their menu are a little overpriced for the taste and quality(i.e. Sandwiches), but since this is a coffee shop, I’ll gladly give the credit that’s due for the coffee products. Oh and also I feel the cold brew on tap that they have here is very good, but needs to be diluted a little more.

Coffee was pretty terrible, beans were sour milk was burnt. On the bright side, had a chocolate almond bar and it was excellent

Trendy hipster coffee shop. Ok food, ok coffee, overpriced. Plenty of college students in there, even in the late afternoon. Took the barista 15−20min to make my sandwich that had too much mayo and crumbled apart when trying to eat it. I recommend it, but maybe there would be more efficient service next time.

Excellent atmosphere, with the«roaring 20s» motif it makes for a relaxing time. The drinks are expertly made ranging from bubble tea to specialty espresso drinks such as the great gatsby. In addition to baked goods from Crust, they bake a variety of delicious cookies on site. If you are downtown and need a wake up, get the Swift Kick to the Head, with 6 shots of espresso it will definitely get you going. Thank you

Excellent food and coffee. It’s nice to know that they do support the local community by buying from the Farmer’s Market a couple minutes away. I had the chicken pesto flatbread. It was cheesy, full of pesto flavor, and you could tell the thing was fresh. The crust was also crispy and delicious. It was more like a pizza to me, but I’m not complaining. Yum!

I’m back trying out one of their new Italian dark roasts, which ended up being REALLY delicious! FINALLY, there’s a place that’s serves a decent dark roast that doesn’t start with«Star» and end with«Bucks»!!! Plus, there’s plenty other drinks to, that’ll keep your palate entertained!

This is such a nice little coffee shop in downtown Flint. So glad they opened up by campus. Their coffee and other non coffee drinks are really delicious. I actually really like their vanilla latte, better than Starbucks. They are the first place in this area that makes bubble tea. It’s a nice effort but definitely not the best. The tapioca pearls aren’t prepped properly, so you get a hard chewy texture to it. I’ve had a few of their sandwiches which were pretty good as well. The location is very college friendly. It’s a great place for small local artists to stop by and perform.

Adorable little coffee/snack shop in downtown Flint! Love their interior design, it gives it such a cozy welcoming feel! Staff here is super sweet! If it were on my way to work– it’d be my everyday choice! Glad to see a downtown business doing well :)

The coffees are really good! The mint chocolate coffee is excellent! Got a cinnamon bun with the check in special because they were out of cookies! Win for us! It was pretty good, definitely way better than a cookie! Only downfall is it is kinda expensive but good coffee is worth it!

Café Rhema is the most divine coffee house! It’s so refreshing to see this café in downtown Flint. The barista made my mother and I the most wonderful drinks. I had a hazelnut latte with 2 shots of espresso in it and my mom had a dirty chai tea latte. Café Rhema is ever-so charming! It is designed in 1920’s fashion and the décor is so inviting and reminiscent of all things past, that my mom and I wanted to spend the whole afternoon in there. Another great thing offered at Café Rhema is the free WiFi. If you are a local student, this is the place to study! I will most definitely be visiting Café Rhema each time I come home to visit my parents.

I happened to be in Flint so that I could meet up with a friend to go to Birch Run and burn some tags. Although with much more than $ 20 in my pocket. Anyways, I wanted to find another place to Unilocal and some place that wasn’t Starbucks or Biggby so searched coffee shops and found two in the area that intrigued me. This one and another that was about 15 miles away from where I was so I chose to go to Café Rhema. And it was a good decision! When I walked in I was struck by the eclectic nature of the entire coffee shop. All the chairs look really comfortable and everything somehow didn’t match yet blended in with each other. I ordered a tea, which was as easy as sticking a bag of tea in a mug and filling it with hot water(not the best but I can overlook it for the ambiance) and then found a place to sit and plug in my laptop. I sat there for maybe 3 hours and felt like I was in Cheers. During the time I was there, about 10 or so different individuals or groups walked in and everyone seemed to know everyone. It was like a ‘Where everybody know’s your name~’ dun dun dun~ moment. And not just because I’ve recently started watching Cheers(I’m a late starter, I know) but everyone was so friendly to each other. A customer stood in front of the counter for like 30 minutes talking with the employee. Granted all of this is probably because the café is literally across the street from U of M Flint and everyone who comes here goes there but everyone’s friendliness and cordiality was super impressive. And another plus? The server offered a drinks card, I declined saying that I’m just passing through Flint, she responded with oh how’d you find us? And I said Unilocal! And she was like cooooolllll… Anyways, Café Rhema, I was torn between writing a review or not because it seems like such a gem that I want it to stay the same way and didn’t want my review to sway people to go there so it would remain the same, but that seems a little selfish. And the likelihood that I’ll go there regularly is slim to none, it is over an hour away. Parking is on the street, but they only collect until 5pm. Sandwiches are $ 3 from 4−6pm or something like that, and delicious. Wifi password is… can I write that here? someone message me if that’s not okay. conversation — which is ironic because once you have wifi conversation tends to end. LOL. my bad.
