Why on earth is a Labatt’s Maple Ale six pack more than $ 10 here compared to every other store around??? Somebody please answer this– seriously. I can get it for about $ 6 just about anywhere else, even Kroger’s. This just doesn’t make any sense. Their prices are really just downright shameful. Their price for the aforementioned six pack was $ 10.13 «out the door .» That’s what the clerk said to me — «out the door .» Not very classy, in my opinion. Upon first glance, the store seemed amaze balls — tons of liquor lined up on the back wall up to the ceiling, a «beer cave» refrigerated walk –in, etc but it’s all show, no substance. Seriously inflated prices on beer and liquor, heavy overpricing on run of the mill basic grocery items($ 4 for a tiny ranch dressing, like smaller than any size I’ve ever spied in a grocery store, maybe even sample sized) and an over-promotion of every kind of lotto imaginable, just made it not cool. On the surface it seems like they are trying to make this shop out to be like a niche, premium wine, ale and spirits retailer, it’s honestly just another highly overpriced liquor mart hawking high priced mustard, domestic beers, beef jerky and mega millions lotto tickets. Customer service is kinda lacking and the prices on everything are higher than should be. The well-advertised«beer cave» was kind of a joke, in my opinion, actually sporting brands like PBR, Coors Light and Budweiser. Some«beer cave.» That right there should be red flag number one.

Great selection of beer, wine and liquor, but beware the expiration dates on the«Mix your own 6 pack» section. I walked out with two six packs of various Michigan beers that were all past their prime. One had a brewed on date of 2011, and this review is in 2014. I’ve shopped here a lot in the past and am extremely disappointed with this last visit.
