Every time I stop by the Alpine Pantry I get a 14 pound box of Ginger snaps. Its a great little business and I would definitely recommend stopping by.

Dry goods, some frozen and cold goods. Mostly dry goods priced well. Bakery has fresh goods tues and friday. Good for dry bean soup mixes, differnet types of flours, seeds and grains. Good to stock your pantry. Also a deli inside.

What a gem of a find! Alpine Pantry turned out to be a great pit stop to grab deli sandwiches on our way to Falling Water, PA. It is conveniently located at exit 56 off of 68W near Cumberland and Flintstone, MD. We planned to make a quick stop but upon entering we realized this was a small natural food and bulk good store run by the Mennonite community and all of the goods were handmade. We ended up perusing the store for much longer and my friends both left with a shopping bag full of goodies. Alpine pantry sells everything from homemade jellies/preserves, honeycombs, canned pickles, dried goods(packaged soups, green bean chips, dried pudding mixes), to ice cream, cheeses, breads, baked goods, spices(my friend finally found a tub of smoked hickory salt she has been looking for), teas(I found some catnip tea which I have read so much about lately, but have had a hard time finding). The deli sandwiches were made with typical ingredients you might find at any other deli. The bread was incredibly fresh and soft. We also had some chocolate chip cookies and oatmeal cookies which were made like cookies should be; slightly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The store is clean and well kept and has a serene feeling. Well worth a stop! Payment: They prefer debit over credit. Dress Code: there is a sign on the door asking that you cover up appropriately.

This place is the best. We stop here every time we drive through this area. It is run by Mennonites(an order of the Amish) and they are always baking at this location. They also have a wonderful deli and you can just can not beat the quality and price of their sandwiches. They have a very large stock of different bulk dry goods too. We never leave without buying a few jars of their jellies and preserves too. This is a must stop if you are traveling on I-68.
