I have been to a few of these restaurants while traveling and always enjoy their food, but this one in Florence was exceptional! The service was great and fast! The food was delicious, especially the quesadillas! If you are in the area for work, stop in and have lunch or dinner. Great atmosphere for both work and pleasure!

After much thought I decide to try Chuy’s in Florence. Bare in mind I lived in south Texas for 16 years… On arrival I walked into the bar and found a seat that didn’t have crumbs on the bar in front of it. No bartender was immediately available. After a short wait she arrived and took my drink order, I ordered a frozen margarita with salt which she made quickly and it was as expected, tasty. She than asked if I would be ordering food to which I said yes. After handing me the menu she disappeared. Eventually she showed back up and asked if I wanted chips and salsa? duh yes it IS a Tex-Mex restaurant. She brought the chips with 2 types of salsa… the regular tomato type and a creamy jalapeño type which was muy bueno! Anyway I ordered the beef fajitas. They came out in the requisite time sizzling as expected. Garnishments were in huge portions. The meat was no seasoned very well. Don’t get me wrong, they weren’t bad just not much flavor as were the onions & peppers. I guess I was just expecting too much this far north. I’ll stick with the local fare form now on.

Fun, funky atmosphere. The food is more of a pacific coast style Mexican. My kids love watching them make the tortillas. Portions are huge so pace yourself. You must save room for the spectacular tres leches cake or else you are missing out.

We came here as a party of 8 last night because the guest of honor loves tex lex. But the service was horrible –we were literally served the wrong food. Like they said, this is combo 1 and it wasn’t. Then when we got the bill which we had told our server how to split before ordering, he literally charged all of us the wrong thing — there was not one correct bill among the 4 that we got. We just ended up paying it and settling among ourselves. When my friend asked for a dessert for the guest of honor, the server came out and tried to give it to another person at our table. I guess I should be happy it didn’t go to another table. The happy hour is a really good deal here but the service is horrible and the food not good enough to compensate for its other shortcomings. One redeemable frature is they do offer free valet parking.

I love this place, & was very excited when I learned they were coming to Florence – I knew them from Austin, TX. It’s seen as Tex-Mex, but it has a New Mexican twist to it. I always sit in the cantina, because you can usually get a table immediately – or sit at the bar, & the service is always great & friendly. There’s also a free nacho bar M-F from 3 or 4 – 7, with chips, fresh salsa, frijoles, taco meat, & warm queso – wonderful! The chili rellenos are heavenly! They’re not the normal ones made from poblano peppers, they’re made with anaheims & far superior. Try the shrimp & cheese with their deluxe tomatillo sauce – it’s phenominal! It’s all about choices here. They give you 5 or 6 choices of sauces for any food you order; choose from traditional Mexican rice or green chili rice, or choose from refried beans or charros. And don’t forget to ask for some creamy jalapeño sauce for your chips. They’ll have 2 or 3 flavors of frozen margaritas ready, or will make you any flavor you’d like. I’ve been to Chuys at least 30 times since they opened. Obviously, there have been a few glitches over that time, but they’ve always made things right, no questions asked. Oh… also, no bad mariachi music blaring over the speakers – only 60’s, 70’s &80’s, & they’ll put the tv’s on anything you want in the cantina… and don’t forget to ask for your frequent diner punch card. Did I say I love this place?!

Wowie I was so happy to find a TexMex :) We were born and raised in San Antonio and know Chuys as authentic from Austin and it did not disappoint. We normally get different items and split but we both felt like we wanted our own this time. We got the veggie enchilada with hatch sauce that was not as spicy as I was expecting(having a deep love of Hatch) but it was VERY flavorful! We also had a shrimp and cheese relleno which had amazing spice and we drizzled the creamy jalapeño sauce on top(which let me add I would have eaten without anything– it is that good). THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU! We do not live in the area but would totally go back if we did.

When I feel home sick, I come here for some tex mex food. Nothing makes me feel like I’m in Texas even if it is for a little bit. Best time to come is during happy hour from 4 to 7. Drink specials are great. They have the nacho car that includes chips, salsa, meat, queso and beans all the ingredients to make some mean nachos! The best part is that it’s FREE. When your here make sure you try the ranch jalapeño dip super good! This place has a great patio which I love! Nothing beats great happy hour deals, great drinks and some nachos than on the patio!

If you know sign language, this is a good option. Otherwise, drink too much and shout like the rest of the patrons. This place is for tourons. Very cheesy and not special in any menu category. On the good side: food portions are respectable and pricing is competitive. The wait staff is sometimes short but their attitudes are good! I can only surmise they have good managers.

BRINGBACKTHEPRICKLYPEARMARGARITA! That should be on the drink menu year round… you’d get 5 stars if it were… Love the atmosphere, could eat just chips and creamy jalapeño dip & margaritas; and be happy. Chicken Flautas are always gross… should get rid of them and change up the appetizer plate a bit. Hostess could use some customer service training; not the most pleasant things to be around when you first walk in…

Who would have thought that I would find a Chuy’s all the way in Kentucky. Not too far from the hotel and it helps to ease the Tex-Mex withdrawal symptoms that I feel when I leave Texas. Great fajitas, just like in Texas.

This is a decent mexican restaurant. However, I found that the decorations were better than the food. The dish that I ordered took a long time to get to the table, and there was nothing special about it. It was a very average mexican meal. The atmosphere is very cool though, and some of the decorations are very artsy and impressive. Yet what matters most to me, the food, was average, and thus the average rating.

Yum! If you LOVE Tex-Mex this is the place! I used to frequent Chuy’s in downtown Houston for years, and just last week we relocated to Walton from Southern California & driving down the road what do I see but my beloved CHUY’S! We’ve been twice this week already! The Queso is on point, creamy, flavorful & delicious. Their in-house fresh & hot tortilla chips go perfectly with their yummy salsa. During happy hour you can even have that and retried beans to your hearts desire! Today our very friendly server let us know about the Chuy-Vice, a sugary piña colada style alcoholic drink. Mmmm tasted like an adult slushy! We shared that & the Chuy-changa, chicken chimichanga served with refried beans and rice. We shared the entrée and dug into the free happy hour salsa bar out of their Cadillac trunk!(You just have to see it!) YUMYUMYUM. Great staff, EXCELLENT food, run don’t walk to this delicious eatery! We WILL be back!!!

After hearing good things about here I decided to try it with a few others. To begin we were not seated but told by the host to simply pick a spot. Then the chips and salsa were beyond salty to where you could not even eat them. The waitress brought us more that were better, but it was a terrible way to start the meal. After ordering our food it came as ordered and hot, but was mediocre at best. Clearly the tortillas are made fresh but the food had very little taste overall. When the bill came we realized that normal things like extra sour cream were charged extra such as a dollar for one dollop. When leaving we asked for to-go cups(since we paid for refills) but were told they were out. It was a fitting end to a lackluster meal. Overall, the service was excellent with a very attentive waitress but the food left much to be desired and was over priced. I will not be returning.

My second visit omit Chuy’s on my business travels. It is hard to find good TexMex but this place is excellent. I guess it is a chain out of Austin but it is really good. Homemade flour tortillas and the jalapeño cream sauce is to die for. Chicken Tortilla soup was chuck full of chicken and veggies, excellent! This place is good for kids, family etc. good choice for dinner or just having a sangria with friends.

What out for a Saturday dinner with the family. Went around 6 o’clock it was busy but we didn’t have any wait whatsoever. We got our drinks immediately which was nice along with chips and salsa. The hatch green chili was the best. My wife and I both got the super burrito really good, Full of flavor and a large portion. Our kids ordered off the kids menu and the food really was bland. Next time we’ll just have to order off of the large menu. Host did a good job, our waitress Beth was on top of her game and nice. Always enjoy the flavor of the restaurant. Three stars only because of the kids food other than that pleasant experience.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again … one of the best ways to judge a Mexican restaurant is by its enchiladas. The sauce is key: is it some thin tomato based joke or a thick, rich chili base. Chuy’s does them right. A deep, rich, smoky chili sauce covering those bad boys! Easily my favorite enchiladas in the Tri-state area. The chips and salsa are choice as well. Fresh salsa and thin, light chips? Yes please and keep ‘em coming. Is it a chain restaurant? Absolutely. Is there a reason why the place is always packed? Absolutely!

My experiences here have been very mixed. When they first opened my family and I gave them a try. We got nice sized portions on every item we tried. The prices were good and the margaritas were strong. We honestly decided this was the place for Americanized Mexican food in Florence. We returned twice and it was great. But then things changed. The next time the Margaritas were basically sweet lime juice. The portion was smaller. I ordered a chicken chimichanga and, I am not being dramatic, counted exactly three 2″ x 2″ pieces of chicken. It was a bean and cheese chimi with three pieces of chicken in it. We figured it was an off night but the next visit was the same. We haven’t been back. It seemed like they were established so they were getting lax. Hopefully it goes back to the way it first was because it started out very good.

Elvis is waiting to see you at Chuy’s! The décor here is so crazy and all over the place I see something new each time I go. The menu is also big and you have tons of options to choose from so you can get something new every time. Great atmosphere for kids and adults alike. Service is always great and the bar is awesome.

You know — even though I’m a foodie, I really love Chuy’s. They do make everything, in house — roasted chicken, sauces and yes, even the refried beans. We’ve been to Chuy’s, quite a few times — things we love… the thin, crispy, hot tortilla chips(the salsa is average), the boom boom sauce, the jalapeño dip, the chuychanga, the refried beans and the husband loves their big burritos. A fail was the fish tacos(I’m a pro on them) — way too much crunchy breading on them. Also, I hate when restaurants put a bunch of shredded lettuce on and under the guacamole. Such a pet peeve. Not to mention, Chuy’s is just eclectic and fun — Elvis heads, hubcaps, huge flowers. Doesn’t get better than that. Service, all 4 times, was really great, too. I’m a fan.
