Truly Peruvian favor and portions lol… Yes that’s right… Expect double the size you usually get at a regular American joint… Have kids? Order salchipapa and split it in two! Win win here!

This is not your fancy novoandino Peruvian cuisine, this is what most people actually eat in Peru. And it is delicious, fresh, and authentic. The menu has all the classics– lomo saltado(stir-fried beef with tomatoes, onions, and fries, over rice), hearty soups, ceviche, milanesa de pollo(breaded chicken pounded flat like schnitzel, over rice and fries), lots of seafood stewed, fried, or in rice. Peruvian food is nothing like Mexican food, the only spice comes from the aji, or hot pepper sauce, you add at the table. The main flavors are garlic, citrus, and herbs like cilantro– these come together in the red onion based salsa criolla served as a garnish. I recommend ordering a few different plates to share family style, since the plates are huge and also this is what families and friends often do when they go out to eat. Wash it all down with a cold Cusquena beer– yum!

Huge portions(two to three adults can easily share a singe entrée), the friendliest service imaginable, and good tasting that reminds me of a good home cooked meal. So what’s the problem? Food poisoning. Within a half hour of leaving the restaurant, my stomach was in knots, and the rest is history. Ugh!

Being from New York I have had my share of fine peruvan food and I can tell you that this place right up there at the top of the list! Wonderful, heavenly tasting food! It is very clean, and staff are very friendly. Food comes out quick and is fresh and hot. I found this place by accident after making a wrong turn, and I am so glad I did! I will be going back there often, and I am telling all of my friends about it! Try it, and you will love it!

I was super excited when I realized there was a Peruvian restaurant within an hour of my house! I’ve been to Peru and their cuisine was delicious! Unfortunately, I just didn’t think this place lived up to the hype in my head. Friendly staff? Absolutely! Large portions? Hell yes! But my dish was bland and kinda boring(I got the rice with steak with eggs on top). It just wasn’t anything special. Plus, they were out of pure de papas and pisco sours were not even on the menu! I get why they leave off the alpaca and Guinea pigs(both delicious and Peruvian staples), but no pisco sours??? Plus, it’s a bit overpriced. Maybe other things on the menu have bolder favors, but my dish, my fiancé’s dish, and the appetizer were just blah. It was worth the trip to try it out and have the experience, but I doubt I’ll go back.

This is the best place to get Caribbean and South American food in Cincinnati! The portions are generous and the staff is very nice and attentive.

A hiding gem in a little strip mall in Florence. This place is very similar to Sabor Perauno(for those of you that follow Peruvian food). It has very authentic dishes, full of flavor. My favorite is the lomo saltado de pollo. Is a plate full of chicken cook with onion tomoatoes and fries, serve with rice. You can probably feed 3 people out of it! The location itself is just okay. Doesnt seem to have a lot of traffic. Ive bee about 4 times and I’m the only person the entire time.

I’ve never had Peruvian food before, so honestly have no point of reference for my five star rating. I do know yummy food when I taste it though! There are lots of unique ingredients in the dishes and you get the sense that they are«home cooked» meals. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous. Next time you’re debating all the usual places on Mall road, give these guys a shot instead.

I ate here on a Friday night by myself. I don’t know the Florence area very well and was meeting some friends for a movie later in the evening. I cruised around some strip malls looking for a small chinese or indian place, but saw this and decided to give it a shot. I went in at 7 on a friday and it was dead. I was the only one there, but several families came in after I sat down. It was very clean and tidy, and the waitress and waiter were obviously the owners. I told the waitress I’d never had Peruvian food before and asked her recommendation. She got really excited and asked what sort of food I wanted(chicken, beef, seafood) and I said seafood. She recommended a Tilapia dish(I THINK it was #60). The description just said«Tilapia covered in seafood». I assumed shrimp and maybe scallops. I was brought out a HUGE plate with 2 large tilapia fillets covered with shrimp, octopus, squid and a heavy sauce. I was a bit taken aback as I wasn’t expecting the octopus and squid, but I’m open minded and not afraid to try anything. It was DELICIOUS. The sauce was very delicious, and all of the seafood was very good. I also had an order of fried plantains. They were great as well. The green hot sauce was delicious. I asked if they sold it, and they sold me a pint of it for $ 5. I made some chicken tacos for lunch today and it went fantastic on them. I plan on taking my wife and kids back soon.

Very very good! They give you so much food!!! #47 on the menu is my favorite, and the onion salad is delicious! Also, be sure to try the fried yuca… you can find them on the back of the menu listed as a side item, but they will bring them to you as an appetizer!

Very good food, home cooked, huge portions, and super friendly. I have been here several times now and have loved it each time. I lived in Peru for 7 months and this brought me back, only thing missing is the cuy! Only suggestion is talk to staff when ordering, they can help make it good if you are inexperienced. Personally not a fan of cold potato slices with black mint cheese, but it is traditional! Try a plate of fried plantains to start.

Excellent food. I had a shrimp dish and my daughter had chicken and both were fantastic. The chicha morada tasted like it was straight out of Lima. Service was excellent too. I’ll definitely be back.

After visiting twice, I know I will continue to return. One of my co-workers and I went for dinner and returned a few weeks later for lunch. When you walk into the restaurant, it feels a little stark– and smells very clean. Once seated, you can notice the décor is really in the small details. Each table has small arrangement on it, and there are shelves around with items I assume are Peruvian.(I like the stuffed animal llama) When we had dinner– we shared three different meals, since we had no idea what we were getting into. All of them were rice-based meals with seafood. The two I remember best were a stir-fry type, and a paella. Delicious– and SO much food!!! We both had enough leftovers for another meal or two. When we returned for lunch, we ordered the stir-fry type meal to share, again. The waitress told us that there were daily lunch specials, and we both ordered a daily special. On a Thursday, her special was another stir-fry dish, but I got a fowl soup with noodles and cilantro chicken on rice served with boiled potatoes in a cream sauce. YUMMY! The lunch price was quite reasonable. Again– plentiful leftovers… even better! As others have mentioned, they bring out a small ramekin of a spicy green sauce. It is delicious, and I have to remember that a little goes a LONG way! It’s so good. I have yet to try their French fries… just one more reason to go back :)

Fresh food, made to order. Portions are huge. The children’s sandwich would easily qualify as an adult meal elsewhere. Try the green hot sauce. It is unique, and goes with everything. It really was the finishing touch to the pasta dish I ordered. If you are in a hurry or ordering togo, I would suggest calling your order in ahead of time. Food does take a while to prepare. They were not very busy, so you will not have to wait for a table.

A friend recommended us to check this restaurant out after we told him how missed Sabor Peruano in Cinci. The menus are exactly the same(I think they are family), unfortunately the food is not as good as Sabor Peruano. It is still yummy but something is missing. The portion is also smaller than sabor Peruano. I was asking the waitress about Sabor Peruano and she said that the restaurant will reopen in 2 weeks. So excited!

Sabor Peruano lives on! When Sabor Peruano burned down, I was more than devastated. I did not believe there can be another Peruvian restaurant that is as good as Sabor had been. I can now announce I have found a perfect reincarnation in Lima Limon. Not only is Lima Limon owned by the same extended family as Sabor; they use the same menu! And the taste? They are virtually identical. We ordered our usual list of goodies for comparison: Papa a la huancaina: same wonderful yellow sauce on boiled potatoes Papa rellena: same large deep fried mashed potato with meat filling Anticuchos Mixto: grilled beef heart and tripe, my favorite thing on the menu, sooooo good… I «heart» this one… lol #42: pounded, breaded steak, deep fried, served with rice and fries. Hubby loved this just like before. We also ordered the minestrone soup. It is a new one to us. But it tasted way better than it looks. The green color must be from a basil paste of some sort plus chicken stock. Service is also friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back to cure my cravings for authentic Peruvian food.

Know what you’re getting into! I’d recommend doing some research on Peruvian food before visiting this place. I usually enjoy trying new restaurants, especially those that are locally owned. As you walk in to this restaurant, you’ll immediately notice that the place smells of fish and french fries. That’s because most of the menu features fish and the majority of dishes come with French fries. I found the food to be surprisingly bland. And the French fries tasted like they were McDonald’s fries that had been reheated in the microwave. The environment(at least on the day that I visited) was filled with families with small children, who were running around. I did not enjoy the experience and do not plan to return.

I was excited to try Peruvian food, but may have ordered the wrong thing. I got a mixed seafood and rice dish. It looked beautiful but the squid was super chewy and seemed to have a lot of grit in it. The rice was good. It was served with a green hot sauce on the side which was the best part of the meal. It was very spicy. Chicken of somekind is probably a better option.

This is a late review. We’ve been here twice but cannot recall the exact name of the entrees we had. It’s nothing fancy but the food is good. We were not familiar with Peruvian food when we first ate there several months ago bu, t thanks to the helpful staff, they gave us great recommendations which were really good. The dinner was good sized with enough for left-overs to go. We will be back. :)

My body got into a fight over whether or not to write this review. My heart wanted me to let it go — the people are very nice and it’s brave and cool to have a Peruvian Restaurant in Florence. But my ENTIRE digestive system won this round. Now if any of my criticisms are just symptomatic of a non-peruvian palate, please take my review with a grain of salt(which you won’t find in any of the food I tried.) The dish I got was a piece of Cilantro Chicken served on a bed of green rice. Having grown up in a family of three where mom would make three roaster chickens at once and we’d eat them every day until they were gone, I know what old, sitting around for a long, long while cooked chicken tastes like, and this was it and more. Everything in my body screamed«don’t swallow!», but hey, I’m an optimist and want to try new things and I hadn’t eaten anything since dinner last night so I swallowed anyway. It was dry, dry, very dry with maybe two bites of meat and no flavor other than old and bad. The bad part proved out halfway home with a quick run to and extended stay at the rest stop, ’nuff said. The green rice looked good, and there was a ton of it, but it had pieces of hard, undercooked rice in it, and they used frozen peas and carrots. Plus no seasoning, so it tasted of nothing but bland with a hint of freezer burn and oil. The highlight was the cold potato slices served on a bed of lettuce leaves covered with a cold«spicy» cheese sauce topped with«eggs»(one 1⁄8 wedge of a hard boiled egg) and«olives»(one small un-pitted black olive). It was very different from fare found elsewhere and while, again, bland, interesting texturally. I told one of the waitresses that the chicken was dry and tasted bad; she seemed to chalk it up to some folks not liking dried out chicken but acted like that was correct styling for this dish. She offered to bring me something else, and I asked her to surprise me, I’m adventurous. I got an unseasoned piece of round steak hammered to less than ¼ inch flat and pan fried to very well done, only moisturized by the grease it was cooked in. Top that off with a $ 12.00 price tag + drink at lunch(there is no lunch menu) and all in all, well it made me miss my mom’s cooking, which is no easy feat.
