Pete and his team are really wonderful. The food is delicious! One of my most favorite places for spanakopita, or a long island iced tea. LOL Thanks for years of great service and the chattability factor is also great!!! Hugs, Sharon G

This little gem is amazing! Dad had the grilled pork chops, Mom had the spanakopita with the Greek salad, and I had the classic gyro with the Greek salad. The Greek salad came with a stuffed grape leaf. Oh. My. Goodness. This whole meal was incredible. My dad is not a fan of gyros but I had him try some of the meat and he was pleasantly surprised. I’d love to come visit again before I fly home next week! I’d totally get the falafel next time around. Mom, Dad and I split some baklava — incredible. There may or may not be video of me dancing around while eating it. So, Nick is a FANTASTIC server. Very polite and accommodating! Thank you again, Nick! :)

Dolmadakia, souvlaki, gyro, all great! Staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. Place was clean and nicely decorated. Lots of food, authentic and delicious!

Wow! Hubby and I stopped here while visiting the area on the recommendation of a friend and we were so glad we did.
We both ordered the gyro sandwich with Franks Hot Sauce; he with the fries and mine with the Greek salad. It might have been the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Tons of meat and big on flavor. We will definitely be back to this gem.

We were pleasantly surprised when we entered the restaurant. The décor suggested something far more urban and posh than we had anticipated. The staff was friendly and attentive. My wife had a cheeseburger and fries, which she said tasted as good as it looked to me. I had the linguini and meat sauce. The portion was ample, so I split to bring some home. The sauce was meaty and beautifully balanced between the different flavor nuances. For me, I could have used a little more heat (l’arrabiatta) in the sauce, but a few shakes of pepe nero and the sauce perfectly suited my taste. The al dente pasta was perfectly mixed with the sauce on the platter that came to our table piping hot. All I can say is, don’t visit Florence without visiting Mount Athos. …see you again, soon!

Thanks so Pete and his team, I had a wonderful wedding weekend in Florence, Arizona! I had both my rehearsal dinner as well as my wedding after-​party with Mount Athos. The owner, Peter goes above and way beyond a small business owner expectation. To begin, his pricing is reasonable and affordable. He offered 2 appetizer options, 3 dinner options, and 2 dessert options for my 35-​person rehearsal dinner. He also provided alcohol/​a full bar, which was a nice touch. During the after-​party, Peter taught my aunt and sister how to perform a Greek dance… he is so much fun, accommodating, and nice. During my after party, he was able to keep up with all of the shots and other drinks being ordered, as well as talk to my guests… while working a full day AND staying up until 1:30AM to accommodate our after party. You can tell he and his staff are hard workers, and I never minded giving my money/​business to him because he worked admirably for it and only made the best impression the entire time I dealt with him.
My wedding chef had to leave due to a family emergency, and Pete came to my venue down the road to ensure the caterers were being overseen and managed properly. I never saw him during my wedding night, but it was nice knowing that things were being managed by Pete without him being entirely in the picture. Again – this is something he just choose to do on his own accord because he was good friends with the caterers and offered his services to them.
All of his food is authentic and delicious. His portion sizes are huge and some of my guests even had leftover food to take home that evening for a midnight snack :) I have been to both Italy and Greece, and his food it very authentic (the gyros and chicken linguine being the best!).
Oh and one more thing, Pete even brought a meat, cheese, hummus and pita tray to the bridal party room at the Holiday Inn the day of our wedding. This was pre-​arranged by my mom, and he delivered the food personally, on time, and again… it was delicious to a constantly-​hungry bride and her family.
It’s nice knowing there are kind-​heated, good people in this world (especially when it comes to customer service!). Pete, thanks so much!

For a town that’s a mere dot on the map, this restaurant is every bit as good as ones located in a large city. The food is authentic and outstanding and the service exceptional. We attended a wedding at the Windmill Winery located nearby and the owner went out of his way to make sure we were properly taken care. I can say only good things about our experience… Just wonderful!

You will not believe that you are in Florence Arizona when you eat here. Easily the jewel of the entire town (for MANY miles around), there is not a single thing to dislike about Mount Athos. Pete is the epitome of class and customer service and truly cares about his patrons, tending to every detail with the utmost sincerity. The food is amazing. I always have the chicken Alfredo which is the best I’ve had since I was last in Italy. My wife changes it up from time to time but normally gets the liver and onions which is cooked perfectly every single time (not an easy task). I absolutely cannot recommend this place any more highly and encourage anyone to make whatever drive you have to make to enjoy Mount Athos. Tell them Kevin at My Arizona Butler sent you and maybe Pete will toast you with a shot of Ouzo… a classic way to end a great meal. ENJOY!

Had lunch here recently. The chicken gyro was overflowing with chicken, served with coleslaw that looked good (but wasn’t). Friendly and efficient service. Took a custard filled phyllo dough Greek pastry (can’t remember the name) to go home. Yummm– that tasty treat made the whole experience worth the visit.

Spicy Gyro and the Gyro Plate is amazing. Nice atmosphere. Reasonably priced. All around great.

Nice atmosphere, reasonably priced food, got lots to eat. The staff was wonderful. They even worked with my food substitutions.

I had their Penne a la Vodka with Gyro and it was amazing! It had so much flavor. This place quite a surprise find. Amanda was super nice and took good care of us.

First time dining here last night, and it did not disappoint. Authentic Greek food for a great price. My husband and I had the flaming cheese to start, and then split their gyro dinner platter, even with sharing it we brought home enough for a third meal. Unlike most restaurants who bring out your split plate on one platter and then give you an empty plate for you to split everything, they brought us out each a portion of the salad and a portion of the gyro platter. All of their staff came by to check on us throughout the night as well as one of the owners. We were welcomed like old friends and repeat customers. We will definitely be back!

This place really made my family’s day! Excellent service, excellent food, extremely friendly staff and big portions. It’s very rare to find a restaurant that hits all of these nails on the head but this one sure does. I’m bummed that I was just passing through on a visit because if I lived in the area I would definitely be a regular at this joint.
BONUS: I’ve never had a waitstaff be so kind to my 1 ½ year old. I usually get eye rolls for bringing a toddler with me… Not here. Which in turn actually made my toddler happier and more well behaved. Who knew? Also my boyfriend who has a plethora of food allergies was taken very good care of.

The Spicy Gyro is a fantastic sandwich! This is one of my favorite places to eat in Florence, I have never been disappointed in the main dishes. Service is quick and the staff is always friendly. The price is fair and the portions leave you full and satisfied.

The ratings were tops, we just had to try it.
Because of my Gluten allergies i noticed they didn’t really have anything i could eat that was Greek on their menu, so i went with what i knew i could eat. I had a hamburger with fried egg on top, minus bun. My burger was savory and my Fries were cooked perfectly. My Alex had the gyro, said it was probably one of the best he has ever had.
The next time we are passing threw Superior, we will stop here for lunch

Very clean with super friendly service. This is a nice family owned restaurant that got their start in Manhattan NY. Newspaper on the wall says they got tired of the big city rat race and decided to relocate to Florence.
We drive by this place every time we go to the Tucson area and finally decided to stop in for some lunch. There is not a big selection of restaurants around here so we were a bit skeptical.
Inside is very comfortable and set up like a deluxe dinner or café. They even have a full service bar for those who need to wet your whistle. The menu here is large and has a little bit of all the standards with a good selection of Greek dishes.
Started off with some Falafel to get things going and then ordered some Gyros to finish things off. Both Gyros were very good and the meat was very tender and tasty. The Spicy Gyro was my favorite and came with Frank’s Hot Sauce, Grilled Onions, Peppers, and melted Mozzarella.
Definitely a great option when you are hungry and trying to avoid the local fast food chains. The best part may have been the unlimited non stop coffee that the wife could not stop talking about. She was driving and needed a good wake up call. Nice job guys. See ya next time. OPA!
