Great coffee and friendly staff! They also have daily food specials along with various baked goods. I highly recommend this coffee shop if you are around the downtown area.

Hours change frequently. You have to watch Facebook to know when they are open, but Clay Pot is absolutely the best place in Florence for lunch or dinner. There is just one special(occasionally two) each day, but it is always the freshest and tastiest that Florence has to offer. The owners Peggy and Frank are delightful. Highly recommended. If you find yourself in Florence, Clay Pot Coffee Shop is an oasis within what is mostly a desert for good dining, casual or otherwise.

Very good coffee shop located in «downtown» Florence. Open early, which is always helpful. I opted for the drip coffee and their salmon bagel. The pictures really don’t do the bagel justice. They’ve taken a scoop of cream cheese, wrapped the salmon around it and sprinkled the chopped onions and capers on top. It looks like a flower. The morning sunlight coming through the window really messed with the shadows. Coffee was good, service was good, breakfast was most satisfying.

SOHAPPY to see downtown Florence finally being revitalized — even happier to find such a fantastic coffee shop serving local, organic– yummy food and great coffee in a sweet, comfy atmosphere.

Love this place. Very unique and tasty. Loved the atmosphere and we always support local business. It’s about time Florence broke away from the chain restaurants.

This shop is just terrific. The owner could not have been more pleasant or helpful. I had the chai tea with coconut milk and it is perfect and not too sweet. I was looking in the case for something for breakfast and she noticed and directed me to a freshly made crust less quiche around the corner. Perfect! I am gluten free. It tasted awesome! I also purchased two coconut macaroons, one with chocolate for variety. As well as the no-bake energy balls. She makes everything from scratch. Everyone tasted great. If in Florence, definitely frequent. If traveling on 95 it is worth the extra few minutes to get off the highway and skip the chain coffee shops.

Lovely coffee/tea place! I stopped here on the way to Summerville, SC on Christmas eve for a delicious chai tea latte! I had it made with almond milk and it was the perfect amount of chai spice with a hint of sweetness. Starbucks chai is way too sweet and just syrup. This was one of the best chai’s I’ve ever had! Great bakery case, coffee options and comfortable atmosphere. Totally worth the stop!

We stopped in tonight for the first time and were pleasantly surprised! They had live jazz and Christmas music. I chose the chai tea and a brownie. Both were delicious! Lots of vegan options and very affordable prices! Can’t wait to go back :)

My visit to Florence was made by this coffee shop. It was so nicely decorated with the art gallery inside. They had local events going on and it felt very homey. My latte was great but it was the ambiance and hospitable and friendly service that sold me. I stayed for the open mic night which was a normal open mic night.

I went there recently. I feel weird saying anything negative after the great reviews. My experience was not as good. The coffee was great. The atmosphere is neat. However the service was so slow I almost walked out. It was crazy how slow and they were not that busy. I asked for oatmeal and that slowed things to a stop. They couldn’t find it. The gentleman was gone so long looking for it I finally said to the cook just give me a muffin please. Apparently they have gone to computer register which made things even worse as they clearly had trouble using it. It had been a long time since I had gone and can’t say I will go back. There s too many other choices that do not have these issues. It should not take that long to purchase a muffin and coffee.

Just lovely. I had the lunch special and a red eye with brown sugar and cream. Lovely staff. Soothing atmosphere. Lots of art, pottery, and jewelry all around the store. Worth the trip even coming off I-95.

Neat little eclectic coffee shop. Though they have a limited supply of food items what they have is good. The music was at the right volume to promote a relaxing atmosphere. While there we enjoyed chatting with the locals. I would definitely go back.

Had the chicken salad sandwich and the BLT. Local sourced ingredients. The potato soup and the French onion soup were beyond amazing… Not salty canned soup. The staff was friendly and expedient. The atmosphere was pleasant with jazz music. We were just passing through Florence so this was a great place to get a quick sense of character from this city.

Fun little coffee shop like they used to be before Dunkin took over and started main streaming… Wifi, good coffee, great little treats and fun to watch PPl pass by the windows.

My husband and I love supporting local business and are especially excited when they deliver like Clay Pot! They use organic and locally sourced products, have a great atmosphere, put on cool events and the coffee is really good! Especially the mocha. I haven’t been as thrilled with the food which is why I gave only 4 out of 5 stars. But overall I highly recommend. Definitely Better than waiting in the interminably long line at Starbucks!

Cute, artsy café that reminded me of back home on Long Island. However, service was extremely slow. I ordered a bagel with cream cheese and latte and the owner’s daughter, although very friendly, seemed overwhelmed and confused. If this place learns to hustle a bit more, it would truly be a gem in Florence.

Reason enough to go to Florence, SC! It’s a nice city, but this place makes it a destination. I get tired of bad coffee, substandard fare, poor atmosphere, and this has the best of all three. Fabulous coffee, delicious food, great atmosphere! Go. Go now.

We went out of our way to visit this local coffee shop a couple miles from our hotel, intentionally to avoid the big chain coffee places dotting the highway thru Florence SC. A cozy spot with an artsy atmosphere, great reuse of an old-main-street-Americana type of building, and actual art classes where the place earns its name. While we honestly found the coffee to be disappointing, we liked the place, the service, the selection, and the fact that the owner offered to warm up our generous chocolate chip cookie — how a cookie should be. Wouldn’t judge the coffee on our one time, perhaps it was off or just not to our tastes, but we would try it again when in the area. They are doing everything else right in terms of local, unique flavors and atmosphere.
