Knockouts Bar & Grill

A friend of mine threw a birthday party at Knockouts for her boyfriend. Knockouts is located in the strip mall on New Halls Ferry off Dunn Rd. This was my first time going. I live in South City and I rarely go to North County, for anything.
It’s a sports bar w/​a lounge-​y type atmosphere. They have pool tables, billiards and flat screens. They even have a DJ and small dance floor, if you feel the need to two-​step. You pretty much seat yourself and a waitress will come over. Our waitress was nice, but I think she may have been tired or overwhelmed by our large party, not sure. The service was ok, not exceptional. Like I said, I do not travel to NoCo much, especially to be social, so I wasn’t looking for this to be a GRAND experience — I mean, it’s a sport bar.
This was a Friday night, so as time progressed, more people started to pour in. A lot of the local DJs spin there and they do broadcast from Knockouts, so it is pretty popular. They do have food and drink specials on weekends, and I do believe they have happy hour. The bartenders are heavy-​handed, which is a good thing, lol.
The food was good and the atmosphere was nice. Do I see myself coming back? Maybe. It wasn’t such a bad place that I wouldn’t patronize again. All-​in-​all, it was ok.
