Average hibachi nothing special honestly, their rice is probably the best thing on the menu. I was a little taken back when I sat down to a dirty plate, that’s really unacceptable to have old food on a plate

My wife requested we go to Crazy Ninja on our date night recently. I was skeptical because I do like trying new restaurants but I’m not a big fan of hibachi-style Asian restaurants. I soon became a fan of Crazy Ninja. We had a great cook and the food was good but most of all we had a great time which is the best part of this style of restaurant. We will definitely be coming back.

My wife and I went for the sushi and it was ok. There’s nothing on the menu to denote raw from cooked and the descriptions were somewhat lacking(I’m comparing this to other restaurants that serve sushi that I would give 5 stars). The atmosphere was relaxed and everything seemed clean. Service was the one above average category. For hibachi this might be the go to place but for great sushi keep searching.

Excellent. Crazy Ninja has won the Sushi Wars in Jackson, MS. I’m calling it. As a world travelin’ Unilocaler, although somewhat myopic on Asian, I qualify to proclaim that Crazy Ninja(CN) is the heir apparent of the crown of Hibachi/Sushi in Jackson; perhaps in the state. There’s been a war for the crown brewing amidst the vast, varied, and growing Asian influence on the restaurant scene in Jackson in the past few years. The war has been so bloody that the restaurants do not even distinguish one nationality from another. Its Eastern(Oriental themed) and this means war. There’s a new sheriff in town now. CN has gone the nuclear option and incorporated a classic 1950s rock/Happy Day’s theme as it occupies ground on Lakeland Drive. They have issued war orders with their very setting. The mural of Elvis Presley, a shrine of classic records, and the low beat of somewhat dated American rock turns the traditional Chinese buffet theme on its head. Ordering the hibachi steak(straight up), the waitress snickered. I was aghast at her arrogance as she asked coyly, «which kind?» Retreating, I timidly said, «the regular!”(with far too much enthusiasm to cover my ignorance). Yes. This is the way it makes you feel – they are a new force. They are the heir apparent of the crown and have no time for your grumblings. A totally magnificent plate of Hibachi arrived rather quickly. The ¼ lb meat cubes formed a clumsy border around the strictly organized white rice. Alongside of both was a blessedly steamed offering of mushroom, zucchini, broccoli, and carrot.(Carrot sliced like a serrated blade — hmmm, how Machiavellian of you Crazy Ninja). I am no fan of Hibachi. However, the sheer size, shape, and expert char of the little-big steak cubes entranced me. Charred so slightly, peppered so delicately, fuming with steam, and excreting a savory juice upon the rest of the dish, that steak delivered. Even still, those slices made me submit to the Crazy Ninja’s will to power in the Sushi wars in Jackson. The great menace to the east(starts with an «i» and ends with a «ban») who focuses on quantity and not quality as this«new kid in town» does, you are herby on NOTICE.

LOVE the rock n roll atmosphere here. The menus are made from old record sleeves and the interior is decorated with posters, records, and paintings, with a projector screen showing old concerts. Also the best sushi selection in the Jackson Metro Area. I’ve spent my last 3 birthday dinners here and always have a good time. I get my belly full with the Classic Rock sushi roll and a half order of fried rice. Amazing every time. Clean and super friendly with welcoming hostesses.

We had reservations for 8pm, they couldn’t sit us until our whole party was there, understandable. Our whole party was there by 8:10pm and they ended up telling us that there’s no tables available, we basically had to wait another 30mins. The guy that was doing our hibachi was great, the show was awesome, the food was not. They brought out cold clear soup and watered down salad dressing as our starter. Rice was bland, veggies was bland, my salmon, scallops, shrimp and noodles were all teriyaki flavored! Everything was sweet with the same taste. I hardly touched my food… I gave them a 2 because the hibachi ninja cook made it a fun and entertaining evening.

Came here because my sister wanted to and I was interested in a place that could keep her coming back… the picky eater that she is. Well I will admit the hostess was very nice because right as we walk in the door… my sister and I start arguing about whether to sit on the hibachi or dining room side. As we were not with a large party we would’ve been placed at a seating area with other people and I did not want to sit with other people… Soooooo I won that argument… we sat in the dining room. We were still arguing when our server came to our table to get our drinks but we apologized and ordered sodas and edamame and spring rolls for appetizers. While waiting on apps she took the rest of our order. I settled on vegetable lo mein and asked what vegetables came in it and she wasn’t very sure, I even attempted to ask was the lo mein sauce vegetarian(though most usually are) but she didn’t understand that question, so I gave up and just decided to eat my food… most days when I go out to eat at new places… as long as there’s no meat in my food I’m happy-ish… My sister ordered the chicken hibachi meal that came with noodles, vegetables, and rice. While waiting on our food, the edamame and spring rolls arrived and they were good. As it is hard to mess up edamame, these were served hot, steamed well, and had a good amount of salt on the hulls to be licked off. The spring rolls were hot, crunchy, and contained rice noodles and the usual assortment of vegetables inside. When our entrees arrived everything looked yummy and my lo mein was actually okay. The only complaints I had about my food was the lo mein noodles were very short which was weird, there were mushrooms in my food that I had to pick out because I hate mushrooms… mushrooms were not listed on the menu nor did the server say anything about mushrooms in the dish, but then again she didn’t really know what vegetables came in it to begin with. And the zucchini in the dish tasted odd… can’t explain why, it just did so I picked around them. But other than that the sauce and assorted veggies such as the baby corn and broccoli were tasty. Well there’s not much else to say. I’m pretty sure my sister found her food ok and service was decent if a bit unknowledgeable about food items. But everything came out okay and I wouldn’t mind coming back the next time I am in MS visiting my family. I would definitely order a different entrée the next time I came back, but other than that… Crazy Ninja is OK in my book.

We like the sushi here!!! I get the Fire and Desire roll that is shrimp tempura roll and is deep fried and covered with Crawfish tails and crazy Ninja sauce. On Sunday’s you will get good deals so check them out. Never tried the Hibachi. The fried rice does have a lot of onions :(.

I was so thrilled with the performance by the grill masters. I enjoyed my dining experience. I was full as a tick and have no complaints. I love thee edamame and the first time I went there I ordered the bento box. The staff was very accommodating to my onion allergy and on Sunday night I enjoyed hibachi style. If I could eat that everyday I would. I will definitely be back to enjoy more flames and a show.

Went again and the service was good. The food however, was too salty and oily. The consistency in the cooks quality of preparation, flavor and taste of hibachi is hit or miss. When the stars and planets are aligned and you happen to visit this restaurant on a «hit» night, the Ninja’s hibachi cooks cannot be beaten! Absolutely delicious! The last few visits have been misses. Sorry, Ninja! But for me, only consistency will keep us coming back.

The last time I ate here, it was great. Then, one day I ordered To-Go for lunch and they charged dinner price for a kid’s meal portion of chicken. It may not have been quite as bad if the chicken was cooked well, but it was so hard and dried out. On top of that, I ordered a spicy shrimp roll and could hardly pick one up without it falling apart. When I called to tell them about the chicken, they made no effort to apologize or even admit there was anything wrong with the order. I’ll definitely be taking my business elsewhere.

Tried this place because it was late and close to our hotel. Hoped for good Southern hospitality and tasty food. With the amount of staff on the floor, the service was horrible and the food was not much better. But I have to say the staff was friendly, just very slow for everything. We tried 4 different sushi rolls. They were okay, but really what did we expect eating sushi in Mississippi. All in all it seemed like it could have been a fun place on the grill side. I would go back and try it again.

I didn’t enjoy my food here this time. The shrimp fried rice was very bland. The sushi was dull as well. If I come back it may just be for hibachi. Aside from that the saucers had left over residue

I did not even know this place was here. It has been that long since I went that far South of Airport Road. Went in elected not to sit in the hibachi area. It was more relaxed and not as loud. The music is rock & roll which was different than I expected for a sushi bar. The menus were on the inside of old rock album covers. It is a crazy atmosphere and it is different than any other place I have tried. The food was good and the chef was very talented in his/her presentation. I have another place that I will hit regularly now. I am still at a loss to explain the atmosphere. Unique is the best I can come up with but it is a crazy place with tasty food.

Mediocre hibachi and sushi, crappy drinks. The only thing I can say about this place is it does accommodate a crowd if your party is large. We waited forever it seemed and then when we got in waited forever on drinks that had little to no alcohol in them. My friend’s was fine but all around agreed mine had little in it. It was even the wrong color. When I inquired I was directed to the house specialty which was overly strong and not tasty. I’ve had very well made strong drinks and this ain’t it. There isn’t enough room to back up from the flame if you are against the wall. That was not fun. And although the food wasn’t terrible it certainly wasn’t enough to make up for the bad drinks. I may go back if my friends desire it, but this will never be my first pick.
