Frankly, I find it strange that you would come here for sushi. I know it’s in the name, but when it comes to raw fish and the handling thereof, I would certainly opt for a proper restaurant. I only come here for the bubble teas since I live a block away, and seem to always feen for it. The drinks are standard fare, so the various flavors and artificial syrups are a-plenty, and it is a B1G1 deal though I’m not sure if that applies to all of their drinks. When I first visited Bubblechai, the menu did say it only applied to the regular«milk tea.» The reason I’m a fan is because it is a small mom and pop joint and the two sons are good kids who are courteous and respectable to their customers. And that’s always a good thing. A friend of mine swears by this place for a quick sushi fix, but I won’t be able to do it. Really like the place and its proximity to me, so I will keep on visiting.

Great little place with fresh sushi. Great service and good price too. I come here on a weekly basis with my girls and they love it.

There must be fake reviews here. Couldn’t eat the sushi or drink the bubble tea. Bubble tea was water and sugar. Not worth it.

Wow, I can’t believe all the good reviews this place have. Don’t be fooled by the reviews. First of all let me say they don’t speak English, if you have any questions the wife and husband would look at each other and look clueless BC they don’t understand. My boyfriend ordered the steak teriyaki bento box and it came out cold, when we asked them to warm it up they looked confused and again didn’t understand that we wanted it to be heated up. Finally they understood and took the food to the back to warm up. Towards the end of our meal there son came in and he was able to apologize and offered my bf a free bubble tea, which by the way was so watered down. But thanks it was nice of them. Now reviewing the food, like I said my bf ordered the bento box which came with a California roll, 4 little dumplings, and a huge portion of white rice, with the steak teriyaki. I also ordered a sushi bento box to go for someone else and they complained about how much rice they put in. Taste wise it was nothing to brag about especially since its mostly rice. I ordered the sashimi deluxe platter 15 pieces. Sashimi wasn’t fresh but wasn’t terrible. I also had a seaweed salad that was swimming in dressing. All and all I was embarrassed to have suggested this place for lunch and I would never come here. There’s so many places to have sushi around here and I would never ever come back. I’m sorry they seemed like nice people but maybe they should focus on one specialty making food or making bubble tea’s and perfect it.

I don’t understand all the high ratings this place got but what i ve experienced s the worst sushi roll I have ever tasted in my life. I am not sure about the service since i ve ordered delivery. I thought to myself $ 10.503 rolls s such a deal but i ended up throwing all of them out in the garbage since i felt really sick eating them… the salmon roll s a giant chunk of fat and it s not fresh at all… i tried covering the taste with a whole lot of wasabi but no… i felt like imma puke… for the spicy tuna… it s very different from what i used to have in other sushi place… i don’t know which s the proper way of making it but this place… they put a chunk of tuna in with a bit of «supposingly» spicy mayo on top(couldn’t even taste the spiciness or mayo at all)… but what i used to get was tiny pieces of tuna that were well diced up and nicely mixed with spicy mayo… and i prefer the old way… the only thing that i was able to put in my mouth was the eel avocado roll… couldn’t go wrong with that… but since my stomach was already sick from the previous two… I couldn’t really enjoy the last one much… and lastly for the miso soup… couldn’t really expect much since it s free… but yea you couldn’t really taste the miso but just plain bland soup with seaweed and tofu… but they do give out free bubble tea… didn’t taste it tho…

To be honest, I have been to better sushi places that have the whole package of great food and great presentation/interior décor. But there’s something special about the mom and pop vibe that Bubblechai Sushi has that keeps me coming back. Sure it may seem a bit ghetto that the poster signs are hand drawn but service is always excellent. I’ve been here 3 times so far and food has been good. It’s a family owned restaurant by a husband and wife with their kids helping occasionally. There is one thing that I love to get if I come here for lunch, and that is their salmon teriyaki bento box. The salmon is so good served on a bed of broccoli and carrots with shumai, california rolls, and some rice. But one thing I must commend them for is their miso soup. I have never been to a sushi place where their miso soup isn’t overly salty. They actually include a good amount of tofu and seaweed which is a huge plus in my book! My sister got the 3 rolls with soup for just 10.50. Good deal and delicious! I must also recommend their Unbelievable Roll which my bf and I shared today. They have a deal going on where you get a free bubble tea(any flavor) if you spend over $ 15. Their bubble tea isn’t too sweet and the tapioca pearls were soft. A really good local neighborhood sushi place. The location is a bit tough on their business because it is at the far end of Main St. away from downtown Flushing where the young crowd seems to congregate. But seriously, worth the try!

I don’t regret coming here! I came here with my boyfriend and we had such a great time. The employees are so welcoming and they made us feel like home. They’re so kind and sweet. My boyfriend and I got the 3 rolls + miso soup for $ 10.50. Such an affordable price! The sushi were well made and the salmon were fresh. The miso soup and their sushi was so good! Looking forward to coming back here. I’m assuming it’s a family owned restaurant because there was 2 little kids doing their homework at the back and the workers were close like family. The children drawings hung on the wall caught my eyes. This place is small and adorable! I left them tip and turns out I wasn’t suppose to. So I told them to keep the change and they gave me a free Green Tea Cake thing. They are so sweet and such a loving family. I hope I have time to visit again!

It’s a small place decorated with art works that was drawn by the owners son. It’s very comfortable and feels like home. The homemade taro cake taste really good which the owner prepared by himself every morning so it’s really fresh.

Mom and pop style bubble tea and sushi operation. They try really hard but the location makes it very difficult for them to really be known. They are also in the less than busy area of Main Street by queens botanical garden so it can be a little out of the way. The sushi here however is a pretty great deal though.(especially if you love uni which goes for only $ 2.50!) so if you are ever in downtown flushing and have a little time to walk down to the park, pick up some sushi and bubble tea. Support your local businesses!
