Best place for the little peking duck buns. At 1.00 each. Plus all the other stuff that is available. The place is busy. So its gotta be good.

Stopped here for whole duck and the free pork you get with purchase. Didn’t take the photo until after I ate the first container of duck because when you order whole duck they give you two container for each half. Anyways I notice after I finish the first one there was no leg or wings in it. So I looked in the second on and there was only one leg, NO wings or second leg. But the neck and head was there. WTF? This place always rips ppl off. I only go here because they give you the free pork with purchase.

If you are in the mood for good food, this is the place. Having ordered from this place many times, they just get the food right. A definite favorite of mine and each time I am in the area, this is a place that I must stop by. Whether you are in the mood for breakfast, lunch or dinner, they always have something for you. It can be crowded at times and the seating area is just a no-nonsense place for you to eat. But I generally like to eat there because that way I can eat my food while it is hot. This place has been in business for a long time and the competition in the area keeps the prices honest and they are able to maintain good quality. So whether you are in the mood for Chinese BBQ, dim sum or your Cantonese style food, this is definitely the place to go.

Such nasty attitudes serving such delicious food. It’s Chinatown so you get what you get. But we really enjoyed the roast pig we got here at what’s basically a dressed down food counter. We’re gonna go back of course. But next time we’ll make a point of being just as nasty as they are when we order and pick-up our food…

The server is so sly. I order congee soup, she gave me the left over one which is cold. Congee should be warm and cook fresh. This is not the right way restaurant’s doing the business. Don’t want to go back there again…

As good as it gets if you are looking for an incredible and affordable eat! Great selection of foods and choices. You cant leave this place without trying something out because theres just so many choices to choose from which are all very delicious and tasty with an incredible price. They got all kinds of meats ranging from duck, beef, pig, chicken and more, veggies, sushi, tofu, dimsum, drinks and BBQ and so much more i cant list off the top of my head. It is owned and ran by a great friend of mine. Definitely have some $ 1 peking duck! THOSEAREABSOLUTELYTODIEFOR! Place is a must try, its like a food mania for food lovers in there!

Best roasted pork I’ve had in NYC to date. Definitely worth the trip to flushing. The duck is good too. The other stuff there is ok, but the pork rules. The skin was still crispy even after the 25 min car ride back to bk. Legit.

For an aged, fine lunch box restaurant I owe them a comment. They are almost the oldest lunch box place at Main Street area and always has been my favorite. While others open and close and then open and close this Corner 28 is always there with us. They open late, favor to the night owls. I love a lot of different food from them and they are working on bringing more verities. Such like, Hong Kong style dumpling soup, it has always been my winter late night hunt. They have the most choices of their lunch box that serve for dinner as well. I love the wet spring roll which is totally different from the deep fried kind. Lots of different kind of fish is another big attraction. They also have hong kong style BBQ meat and dim sum. As well as some sushi and juice. Whenever I introduce this place to my friends Chinese or any other kinds they all love here. So this is a definite worth of try if you come to main st area and had never been here yet!

My favorite Chinese BBQ store in Flushing. This place is 50 steps away from Happy Food Court on Main Street. They sell the same food, better Cantonese style BBQ, and cheaper! They have 4 sections in the store, Chinese BBQ, sushi, bubble tea, and rice with ¾ choices box meal. They also have tables upstairs for people to seat and eat. They are known for their BBQ! It’s always busy.

Before there was the La Coral café at the corner of Main St and 38 Ave. Now we come here for breakfast if we have errands to run in Flushing. The choices are various. Compared to La Coral, which caters to Hong Kong style food, it is more Cantonese style. There are BBQ items and sushi besides the lunch boxes. We usually come here for cha siu.

This is my go-to place to buy roast duck. The meat is always freshly roasted and flavorful. It helps that it is really cheap too! For $ 20, you can get an entire duck. Roast pork and BBQ pork here are also pretty good, but the duck is #1. They also sell fried soup dumplings here and they are incredible. It will only cost you $ 1 for 4 of them! There is a huge variety of dishes and platters to choose from as well. The only downside is that there isn’t much sitting room inside, so I typically take my food over to the food court across the street to eat it.

What’s not to like about tasty $ 6 sushi &50cents water bottle?! Plus they have a little bubble tea bar inside. Dining in seating upstairs. I got their egg and scallion fried rice — it was really good but they could’ve done without the raisins. As for sushi, they have a little section inside there too. I got veggie rolls. My friend is addicted to their famous Peking duck buns. They look good but I can’t get myself around to eating them. But anyway, I love it here, definitely a staple in Main Street.

Always changing. Can never keep up. They now added a section next to the four choice box for dim sum at any hour of the day, of course until they are close. The price for four choice with rice has increased by .25 cent. As of now they give you an option to choose water, soup, or soy milk to go with your four choice box. The meat section prices is still the same but before you can choose to have water or soda but now you can only get a water bottle. Its not as crowded here anymore. I think its because of happy food court thats in the other end of the street which replaced where corner 28 use to be before they moved. Its hard to keep up with the ever so changing pricing but their quality in food is still the same. Its still good and so vast in choices. Too many to choose and with barely any time because ut is less crowdes so the ladies who serve has more time on their hand to get to each customer faster.

Quick place to grab a bite for a really cheap price. Great for those who are on a budget. This use to be my to go place in high school when I got really hungry and was far from home. The food here tends to be extremely greasy so I suggest to eat it in moderation. My favorite would be the congee since it’s not as greasy and it is filling.

Awesome food court that moved from the central main st corner down the street past the LIRR west stairs on 40th rd to a brand new remodeling. Lots of great stalls filled with great food, much of what was in the old spot. The Peking duck place is great.

Need some cheap and tasty Chinese food in your life? Well you have come to the right place. Perfect for your grab and go meals or get fresh meat cut and ready to serve at home. What I got: 1) Peking duck $ 1 for 1 –Such a great deal! –Of course it doesn’t taste like your normal sit own with the family at a Chinese restaurant, but for the price, it’s worth it! –It has everything you would normally get, the white bun with a thin slice of duck, green onions(as I like to call them) aka«scallions», and your hoisin sauce. –What I didn’t like was the cut of the meat. The duck was not skinned as it normally is. I guess to give you a visual… The knife is usually held parallel to the duck, allowing for a thin skinning(horizontal cutting), the duck here on the other hand was cut«butcher style» where blade is perpendicular to the duck and sliced down. I was a little upset that I had no skin in my bun because the skin with a little fat and meat gives it a more of a sweat juicy taste from the honey glaze. –Although it did have this minor set back, which probably didn’t give it the normal flavor, it was still bomb and the meat was juicy(but not as tender) with oil running down my hands. 2) Roast Duck: $ 20.95 + 1 small container of chasu FREE –Fresh to death –They roast their duck perfectly! The skin has a little crunch and the meat just sinks in your mouth. TENDER… –What I liked the most is that they don’t try to cheat you out, plus they had a promotion of free chasu. Other things to consider: –They have dumplings and other cooked food as well such as noodles, beef, chicken, etc. I didn’t have enough room to try the rest, but I am looking forward to it! Venu: –it is a small place and it almost feels like you are going into a meat warehouse because you have to go through plastic strips that are hanging down. –WARNING: due to the small space and so many people trying to order food, DON’T let anyone cut you in line! People are very aggressive and don’t care about lines. So when it is your turn, go for it! –Oh and btw they have a small smoothie place inside too… so random… but healthy

Amazing! 1) The main reason to come here is to get the $ 1.25 Peking duck buns. 2) Next time I come, I am getting the roast pork and duck combo with vegetables and rice. 3) Communication is the only issue. Some don’t know English very well.

The customers can be super rude, they will shove you, cut you, and sometimes if you’re lucky, they will cough on you. I only keep coming back cause the food is actually pretty good at a cheap price! A lot to choose from, but I usually go for the four sides and a soup which is $ 5.50 right now. Good amount of options~

Went to get some Roast Pork from Corner 28 last week. Upon reaching the order taker, I asked for a portion of roast pork near the ribs. The butcher(person that cut & weigh the meat) suggest a side of pork which are suppose to be better so I went along with it. The whole order is 1 lb+. I paid for it and took it home. The top side of the pork was really sumptuous but right under the bottom of the splendid looking pork are a side of bones & bloodied meats. I never thought that I will fell victim to these«Switch & Bait» but alas I got conned too when I let my guard down just for this time. That bunch of bones took up quite a bit weight as well(close to 9 oz). Corner 28 really is unscrupulous. This will be the last time that I am getting anything there. So much eateries in Flushing and I rather bring my business to some honest businesses.

3.5 stars. $ 1 Peking duck buns are a cheap and filling snack! However, I was just left slightly underwhelmed by the taste of the duck slices. The buns were really soft and the scallions and hoisin sauce really brought great flavors to the bun. However, the slices of duck were really dry and rough in texture. There are definitely other places that make better Peking duck buns but you really can’t complain about the ones here at Corner 28 because they’re so cheap! In regards to the restaurant itself, it looks similar to your typical Cantonese take-out place, slightly greasy and hectic lol. I would say to come here for the duck buns if you’re not too picky with your food and just want a quick on the go snack.

Amazing roast duck bun, although they raised the price to $ 1.25. The place and area in general is always packed and busy. They do have a small seating area in the back corner. Be prepared to pretty much eat those bad boys in the street while walking. And bring cash!

In college, there was this grouping of 3 eateries that my friends and I lovingly named«The Holy Trinity.» The Holy Trinity was: 1. this taco truck(one of the best taco trucks I’ve ever been to), 2. a Dick’s(Seattle’s shittier yet cheaper version of In-n-Out/Shake Shack), and 3. a Winchell’s Donuts. All three of these establishments were conveniently located near campus and stayed open late, so it was our go-to horrible decision of choice after we went out, which was 6 days a week, give or take a day. Damn, college was fun man. Like, really no real responsibilities. Anyways, the taco truck served $ 1.50 tacos that were piff, but I’m pretty sure prices have since gone up. Here in NYC, a street taco is like $ 3.50. Shit is literally out of control. Like, I would like to sit in on one of these taco truck owners’ meetings and hear how they plot on drunk people who just want a tiny tortilla with meat inside. Show me an itemized break down of how much each item in the taco is costing, damnit. Or else. Well, idk, probably not«Or else,» cuz I’m going to keep buying tacos. They’re too good. UPTOTHISPOINT, THISREVIEWHASHADNOTHINGTODOWITHCORNER28. Let’s change that. I got on the topic because I was so surprised at how Corner 28 has $ 1 peking duck buns. $ 1. Cuz really, a peking duck bun is kinda like a taco if you think about it. At least as far as cost/worth. I have the utmost respect for this spot holding down all the trap fellas and removing inflation from the equation. $ 1PEKINGDUCKBUNS. That’s literally all I had to say. One fucking dollar. Flushing remains the undefeated champion of the world.

Pretty good deal! Someone recommended this place’s lunch box buffet to me and I decided to check it out. It’s $ 5.25 for 4 dishes and 1 soup/water/fruit(depends on which you prefer). I loved the sauce the clams were cooked in! That had to be my favorite dish. I seriously do sometimes wonder if these lunch box places allow us to just choose double servings of one dish haha. Another favorite was the sesame chicken but then again if you’re a Chinese restaurant it would say a lot if you messed up on a classic Chinese takeout dish like this. The fish balls and broccoli dish I would pass on next time. I will definitely be here again to try other dishes!

I was teetering people 3 and 4 stars. I want SOBADLY to give Peking duck buns 4 stars(who doesn’t love Peking duck buns?!). But the day I went, I(literally) had a lukewarm experience. It was a bit chilly but not too bad for a New York spring day. When I walked in and waited in line for my duck buns, the door was kept wide open and wind was blowing in. Not only was I shivering, but I’m pretty darn sure the duck would’ve been shivering too if it were still alive i.e. my duck bun was no longer warm by the time I got my hands on it. Also there is something weird about watching a skin the duck right before your eyes. I’ve seen it before, but it’s never looked quite so RAW. I attribute this to being in Flushing. I felt like he was about to cut his fingers any second. Other than that, my dad and I were mind blown by the sign that read«$ 5 for 4 dishes and 1 soup.» That is an insanely good deal, even by Flushing/Chinatown standards.

Four items, rice, and soup for $ 6? This was one of the best unintentional finds from our Flushing food trip. We originally stopped by Corner 28 for some Peking duck buns, and that’s when we first spotted their hot food bar. For $ 5.95, you get to select four items from the bar and it comes with a huge helping of rice and a side soup. I never eat at hot bars in Manhattan, so I was a little hesitant at first. I took the dive and when I started eating it later that night, I regretted not ordering a second tray for the next day. The food was a little oily of course, but the flavors and quality were surprising delicious. My favorites were the hot chili oil fish, the eggplant, and the braised pork and eggs. Each of our trays weighed at least 1.5 pounds and easily split into two meals. The Peking duck was just as tasty and cheap, running only $ 1.25 per bun. The ordering method can be confusing for first timers, requiring you to pay first before ordering. The skin of the duck was so crispy, although I think many of my buns were filled with more fat than meat. If you can get past the hecticness of the shop, there are some real treasures at Corner 28. You’re probably going to want to eat elsewhere because the back of the shop is actually pretty gross. Grab your to-go box, and enjoy your noms in a much nice setting.

I am spoiled by roast duck and chicken in Manhattan’s Chinatown. The roast duck here does not even compare! The chicken is okay, but you can’t mess soy sauce chicken up, or you’re out of business. There was this promotion — if you buy a certain amount, you’d get free roast pork(cha siu/cha xiao). I got it but it was dry. Oh well.

The roasted meat section was super packed but I only came for the Peking duck buns. They’re not as good as it used to be. The duck skin wasn’t crisp, the bun was hard and chewy. Even though it is still a dollar, I don’t think I’ll be going back for it. No thanks.

They moved from the corner to the middle of the street, so it’s no longer quite the same. Still can get the $ 1peking duck wrap(after a time), a $ 1 box of duck feet or wings(if you go after 1 and before they run out!) and plenty of carved meat and more of the 4 dishes + soup or water for around $ 5. Great stuff. Downside, no fatty roast pork(it’s pretty lean). Definitely cleaner than their old place, but also a lot hotter(feels too crowded, still!). Pay in the middle, order up front for the meat. Credit cards after a certain $ amount.

1 lbs of BBQ Spare Ribs aka Roast Spare Ribs + Half of a Roast Duck + 1 lbs of Roast Pork = BLISS! NOTE: Corner 28 moved to the middle of the street. It is no longer on the busy corner. We get it already lol They have been advertising heavily on the new location. Well, I do understand they want to keep the business coming, so ok, continue with the shouting and posting then. But I mean if customers really like your food then ultimately they will find their way back like ME! Shrugs!

Went to this place on 2 separate occasions. One to try just the $ 1 duck bun and another time to try out their lunch special(i think it was 4 items for 5.99?). In any case, if it was just the duck buns, 4 stars. If I am rating them on their lunch special, it would be 3 stars. The duck buns is a real steal. It’s very cheap and tasty. They do give you a big enough piece of duck with the fried skin which is bigger than the bun itself. The duck is cooked well too. The piece I had was a little dry but the sauce helped balance the lack of moisture out. The buns were not stale or hard. Everything is made to order. The lunch special is well priced and they give you quite a bit of food. One thing going for them is the amount of choices. It has more choices than a similar place in SkyFoods and another place just a little down the street from Corner 28(Box Five Buffet). However, the food is not as tasty. Box Five Buffet and SkyFoods taste much much better than this place. Over here, the food is soo shiny(hence they use lots of oil) but still under seasoned. Once you get your lunch box, you can go upstairs to eat. It’s a nice eating area. Nice cushy seats and it’s relatively clean. It is fairly well insulated. Came here on a cold day and didn’t feel cold at all being upstairs. The seating here is much more comfortable than the other 2 aforementioned places. I highly recommend this place for the duck bun. In my opinion, it’s a hidden gem until I can find a better place. As for the lunch special boxes, go elsewhere.
