Ordered the duck which is cooked with onions in a flat griddle over a gas flame. The pan has a hole in the middle which siphons off the fat. I liked the effect when the meat was topped with bean paste and wrapped in a lettuce leaf, but on it’s own, I thought the meat was a bit overcooked. Might be that I’m used to those sliky rare duck breasts… The banchan were just ok. It gets a bit cold if you’re sitting near the door. On the other hand, the service was friendly and unrushed. BTW, Google maps has it between Parson’s and 146th, whereas it’s really between 146th and 147th. The restaurant is about a 15 minute walk from the 7 Flushing stop.

The pork kalbi is marinated to deliciousness. It may be small and have that hole in the wall feel but the service and side dishes are good.

After eating here many many times I thought to come back, and it was just ok. Banchan looked like it had been sitting out and everything was a little dry(it was 4pm on a friday). BBQ was again just OK and portions have gotten much much smaller.

This is a true hole in the wall gem. It’s not your typical restaurant running along northern boulevard where everywhere is pretty much the same. Their food is as authentic as their back wall décor. If you’ve got the taste buds for Korean spicy and savory, their kalbi and soups are definitely worth going a bit out of the way for.

I live a block away from this place… You know the rest of the story. Whenever I don’t feel like cooking, I order take out. I always get the potato soup or other kinds of soup & I love it. I’ve never dined in, so idk about the service or quality of the meat. Maybe I’ll dine in next time.

I never ever ever would have found this place, or even known to go here… thank god for my mom!!! My mom has been on a duck rampage lately, and she has been eating duck this duck that. Of those, bbq duck was a major part of her cravings. Dae bach has ‘fresh duck’ which means its not the frozen one(according to my mom and yes it comes out non frozen!) and actually, there really is a difference! They really know what they’re doing. The duck comes out, they put it on the grill, then they add onion, green. things(i dont know what it is called in english BUTTTTT those green thicker chive looking things!!! ITSGOODFORYOU&YUMMYJUSTEATIT) and you can also add on the garlic. The combination of everything is just so delicious. MMHMMMMMMM hits the spot!!! It is so so so so good, I am drooling right now thinking about it. Prices are standard, and banchan is plentiful. And as usual for a korean restaurant, service is everything! I would definitely go back!

If you like spicy, try their nyeng myun: it’s cold korean style vermicelli noodles, with red spicy pepper sauce, veggies, half a hard-boiled egg and 2 slices of meat… It is soooooo good here! I found out that they import the noodles from Korea! Droooool, their BBQ is soooo goood everytime!!! it’s always tender, juicy, and fresh! The such isn’t really marinated, but the greens that’s grilled with it and the sauce that you dip it in totally makes it.
