Firestone Complete Auto Care

I waited 3 hours last month for an inspection ticket. I was told i would have to wait hours to get an inspection ticket i am no rocket scientist an inspection takes 20 mins max the staff needs to learn to prioritize there customers. I also stood at the service desk for 15 min while while the service clerk continued to have an ongoing conversation on the phone unbelievable!

I had my alternator changed at this location on May 23^rd. I worked with Angel and Andres on two different dates. Took the shop more than 24 hours to get my car back to me. On my way to Washington, D.C., my battery light came on and my car’s power steering stopped working while going across the Delaware Memorial Bridge. The car also started to smoke. A Delaware Firestone rep told me that the mechanics at Firestone Flushing screwed up. Not only did they not change my alternator belt, but they failed to replace and/​or put the alternator hose clamp back in place. So… my belt went flying all over the place under my car hood causing my radiator hose to become dislodged. Absolutely terrible. The service manager at the Delaware Firestone said the Flushing location messed up and was careless in repairing my vehicle. To top it off, the Flushing Firestone installed a cheap quality alternator, according to my mechanic. Stay away from this shop.

After seeing my post within a few days the manager of the store contacted me. He asked what could be done to make up for the long wait on my visit. I asked for a tire to match the others on the vehicle as it was a lease and I needed it to match.
He had me come in to confirm tires on vehicle and called me a few days later with the tire.
Came in and with in 20 – 30 min had a matching tire.
My original posting I don’t believe was a complaint, just expressing my experience. I guess Firestone felt the wait was too long just for a tire on my original visit, either way I am pleased.

Stopped in last week to replace the balding tires on my Elantra, preparing for the upcoming blizzard… and was well taken care of by Aaron and his crew… Little bit of a wait, but hey, it was a Saturday afternoon, I just walked in unannounced, no app’t…and evidently, I wasn’t the only one thinking along the lines of a snow covered roads… First class operation… competitive pricing… and the best free wifi in all of Flushing… I just might go back there and download the entire internet next week… ;-) …hungry? yer a 2 minute walk to the IHOP… does it get any better?

Need to find another place that does alignment. Firestone charged and didn’t touch the «camber» claiming they didn’t have the specs. It’s an 07 camry, how they don’t have specs is beyond me. I suspect this was a big job and they basically didn’t want to spend the time fixing it, but they touched everything else that was only 0.01 off.
Imagine if I took their lifetime deal for alignment = lifetime of not touching the camber.

I came here as a walk in because my Enterprise rental car had an issue with the tire. Service was quick and polite. They said it would take about an hour to look at it, diagnose it and make whatever repair was needed. I asked if I could just drop it off and come back, and after a lovely time at dim sum, my car was ready, smooth sailing!

Back in 2010 I had formed a driving school business which included a fleet of vehicles. Like any new business owner I was on a quest to look for a reliable mechanic shop that would not take me for a ride every time my vehicles came in for service. We had been through several shops and the experience was not up to our standards. The other shops were recommending unnecessary repairs always had an issue with parts and our cars were more on the shop than on the road. It was critical that our students operated and safe and mechanically sound vehicle.
One day I was driving down Northern Blvd and spotted Firestone Complete Auto care. At first I was apprehensive and was concerned about costs and possibly being taken further advantage of. As soon as I pulled up to the garage door I was greeting by the manager Amado who asked me how he can assist me. This trip was for issues with the AC system not working.
After 30 mins of troubleshooting by Paul it was determined that it was a faulty relay was the culprit. They could have taken me for a ride but that was the exact opposite! Since then I began to transition all of our vehicles to be serviced by them and boy am I glad I did. I have received not but exceptional service from Amado, Mario Aaron as customer service reps. I have to acknowledge their mechanics Paul, Stefanos, Pedro and Daniel!
Over the last 5 years I have had the pleasure of having all of these team members working and addressing our needs in a timely manner. We have received very reasonable and comparable quotes on repairs and have been advised and shown why the work needs to be performed. We have had minor oil changes, brakes and tires changed to major failed components which required replacement.
So many would say well yeah because you are a business is why you received this higher level of service. We have referred our students to this shop with little to no mention of association to our school and our students have happy reported back that they have had a great experience with them as well.
Appointments are great but no guaranteed. It’s like going to the doctors and when the doctor notices that they may bigger issues at hand they perform additional tests and recommend how you should proceed. As a patient you can decide if you wish to proceed with the procedure or roll the dice and see what happens. We never have experienced a situation in which we felt pressured in performing repairs or provided with a quote that seemed unreasonable.
We and will continue to do business with this location and appreciate all that Amado and his team has done to keep our students safe and our cars in tip top shape!

Great place, never wait long, the staff is friendly helpful, they take the time to answer all my questions. I always make early appointments, never midday or evening I’m sure it can get crowded and if it’s crowded than I’m sure I would have to wait longer it’s common sense.

This Firestone took 2 hours for an oil change with an appointment. Also the price was a higher than I normally pay in Ohio which irritated me. When I mentioned I’ve never paid that amount before for an oil change the guy did take 10 off after having an attitude. (I wasn’t looking for a discount, I just asked how come the price was so different) All in all it was ok, I felt like I waited I a little long with an appointment and with them not being so busy.

This noon, I drove my car here for a regular maintenance, i.e. change engine oil, as I aways did in the past when I was in Chicago. Again, I took the chance let them make a visual inspection. As usual, they did get some findings and suggested me change three tires. I knew how the tires looks like and told them I’d like to use them a little bit. The front desk guy didn’t that happy obviously!
The unbelievable things happened after I drove my car couple of miles. The tire pressure monitor alarm on, which I never found it in the past. Thanks God, I got a gas station and get the chance to check my tires. They were both «fine». But two of them were flat and both them have loosen cover of valve core. Now you all know what happened, right?

I called a few places to get a quote for new tires, and Firestone was both the most professional on the phone, as well as the best in terms of pricing. They were able to do the job on short notice (the next day) and outside of normal business hours which was a HUGE PLUS to me. I work full time and my job is intense, so having to take time off from work to get my car serviced is a major hassle.
They mounted and balanced the four tires I chose and did an alignment. Also, despite it being close to closing time, they did an inspection when I requested it — not something I had mentioned on the phone when I set up my appointment. I really appreciate that, it saved me from having to make another trip. One of my signal lights was out, and they were able to replace that for me as well.
The mechanics were professional and friendly, and the assistant manager (Danny) kept me apprised of their progress. Everything was done correctly and the price was the same as what I had been quoted on the phone — no surprises. They stayed twenty minutes past their closing time to finish the job, and no one complained or gave me an attitude. My car was as clean when they finished as it had been when they started — no grease on the seats or debris on the floor mats (which has happened to me at other places.) All-​around very professional.
Some other reviewers have mentioned the seating being limited — it seemed like plenty of space to me. There are five chairs and a small TV in the waiting area. Unless you feel the need to bring your entire family with you when you get your tires replaced, I don’t think you should expect to have trouble getting a seat if you plan to wait here while they do the work.
Not a big deal but one thing to note — there isn’t always someone at the front desk. So if you arrive and no one is there, just be patient and either a manager will come by shortly or one of the mechanics will notice you and tell a manager to come over (the latter happened in my case.) Don’t wander into the work area to look for them; it’s a liability.

I walked out of here after paying $ 1300 for front struts, strut mounts, sway bars, alignment and oil change. I didnt think twice about the total amount because i thought they were reputable company. After leaving, i told a friend and he told me i got robbed. I contacted Firestone customer service who referred me to a local manager. Anyway, i chopped the total to $ 900. Still bad but I am happier than $ 1300. FYI. The struts have limited lifetime warranty. Which is excellent. But they charge $ 400 as a labor to put them on. Most honest mechanic would charge around $ 200-​$ 250. Dont go here and you do not need alignment after strut job.
A YEAR LATER…
Its been little over a year and my front right strut is gone. Thanks to potholes in NYC. Now, I have a choice to go back to firestone or elsewhere. I am not going back. I do have warranty on my struts, they will probably charge me astronomical dollars to put them on. No thank you. I am getting a kyb strut from AutoZone (amazon is cheaper) but problem with warrenty claim. Bring them to a mechanic that I know. He is changing $ 140 to put them on. Steal.

Great group of guys! I have been here a few times in the past for mostly minor tire repairs and changes. They have always been cordial and priced fairly for the work they performed on my car.
The work area and restroom is clean. The waiting area is small with limited seating. A small TV hung on the wall is the only entertainment provided to pass the time.
The Technicians here don’t work fast, but I noticed from viewing them from the waiting area, they don’t «manhandle» your car.
The techs also took the time to explain what they did and put me at ease if I had any concerns.
The store manager «Amado» is a real cool guy. He explained all the charges before work began and made me feel comfortable about the work that was going to be performed
All in all a very positive experience with «Firestone»

This evening I went for my kia spectra change front two tires. Daniel is good explain it me a lot of detail regards car maintain etc. I didn’t know rotate tire is free. In future I will come back here for oil change as well rotate both my car tires. The mechanic pedro Ventura are very professional, change my brake pads as well my engine too. Thank you.

Very friendly service. I had the car towed in with a busted alternator and it was fixed and the oil changed within a few hours. Plus you can’t beat 6 months interest free financing.

A follow-​up. I had went back and told them what had happen about my alignment. The manager apologize for the mechanic’s mistake and issue me a full refund.

You don’t normally think of Firestone as the friendly neighborhood mechanic, but at this location, you can! The manager here is Amando and his team is courteous and professional. I’ve been coming here for 1.5 –2 years now and I can tell you that it’s been the same people here with no turnover. They will listen to your problem, quote you a price, check in your car, then if upon review of your car there are any issues, they will come out and discuss with you accordingly then quote you a price. I’ve purchased 2 tires from them and for each i purchased an insurance. on both tires, i have gone back to get a new tire due to pothole damage and there was no questions asked… they replaced it and the amount i had to pay was the prorated of thread used on the tire. I also get my oil change here and tire hole repairs. One time i took it to them for tire leak (i guessed there was a hole somewhere). They did all the work, removed the tire, submerge in water, etc. etc. and could not find the hole. They did not charge me since they didn’t find any holes to repair. 10 days later, i went back again and told them that guaranteed there mst be a hole somewhere because my tire went from 35 to 25 psi within 10 days. I essentially told them to please try harder to look for the hole… I left the car with them and went across the street to H Mart to do some shopping. Came back an hour later, they announced to me that apparently it was not a hole in the tire but the seal from the tire and the rim had a small area that was separated. anyway, they put some sealant and changed the air value (not sure if this is the correct term). it’s been a month now, and my tire is A-​OK. so I think this branch is good people and good people always makes the difference!

I got the lifetime wheel alignment here and brought the car a couple of times. I had also had the oil changed here before, the mechanic that did it was very sloppy. He had put the oil cap on the engine block and I saw the rings of oil from the cap burnt in over time. It was a pain to clean afterwards. Wait time here is also long.

I searched the web looking for a good deal on tires for my 99 Caravan,
spoke to a very pleasant fellow at this Firestone outlet, and received a reasonable estimate. Drove in the next day, drove out 38 minutes later with two new P205/​75R14s installed, balanced and all according to my instructions, for the exact price quoted.
Super professional, totally consumer friendly, I recommend them very highly.

Don’t even think about bringing your car to this place!
The front desk people are friendly but knowledgeable, no.
I, meaning me, personally, replaced all the wheel bearings, transmission seals, CV joints, and shocks. All I needed was a wheel alignment and I can’t do that myself because I can’t afford the equipment. So I take it to these guys because I use to live out in Long Island and frequented a Firestone center out there, I figure it should be ok. Handed over my keys, they told me 2+ hours, no problem, I expected that. So an hour later they call and leave me a message stating there was something wrong with my front end and that I need parts replaced. I hear this and call them back, they then tell me that a wheel alignment is not possible because my tie rod ends are frozen and they would need to order part. Mind you I just replaced these things. I go back and they start to print out their recommended services and the cost, $ 519.xx and the front desk guy starts to say how in the north with the cold, you need do a wheel alignments yearly, that’s why they freeze up, etc, etc, etc. I don’t even bother to tell the guy that I did the work myself and just leave. The only good part about this is I didn’t pay them anything.
Oh the best part, when I get home, I put the car up to see what they did or try to do, they didn’t even touch the tie rod ends because the anti-​seize compound I put on the tie rod ends is just as I had left it.
