This has to be one of the prettiest cemeteries in Queens, if not all of NYC; especially in the springtime when the flowers are in full bloom. They have many giant azaleas, and old cherry blossom trees that have grown quite tall, they aren’t like the little ones you see planted on the streets or the medium sized ones at the Queens Botanical Garden. Riding on the Q26 or Q27 past Flushing Cemetery during those few weeks the flowers are really in peak bloom is like looking into a forest of pinks and purples, or like some impressionist painting but it’s reality. If you go inside later, there are also a number of very large linden trees that are beautiful, there’s just something about the way their leaves filter the sunlight. It’s a great place to visit if you like photographing plants or nature, or even if you just want to visit Louis Armstrong’s grave, or have family there. It’s also very hilly and makes a good workout if you want to ride your bike through here, but it is easy to get lost if you don’t have a map.

Pretty nice cemetery. The grounds are well kept and its very pretty. The staff is really helpful, they helped me find a few of my other relatives when burying my grandmother. Entrance is kind of hard to get into by car, especially if you’re following another vehicle. That’s not their fault, because the cemetery predates a lot of that mishegoss outside. Thankfully inside is peaceful and verdant. i think my relatives are happy here.
