HMart

This is one of the best H-​marts in Queens. They normally do free samples throughout the day (which is genius cause I always get suckered into buying the product). The ladies working here are all adorable and the staff in general are nice, I’ve never had an issue with them. Things can get a bit pricey depending on what you buy but the sales offset that.
Tips: — Come during the morning and afternoon for samples! — Visit the area towards the back entrance cashiers, you’ll find red bean filled fish cakes freshly made $ 6 for 5

This is a huge mart with a variety of selections. They have most of thing that I need like fresh vegetables, fruits, cooked food, seaweed and rice cakes and even some kitchen wares. I like the section for cooked food. I often buy the vegetable and fan fried fish and rice cakes. They also have a good selections of herbal tea. The imported herbal tea are very good. I and my family enjoy the herbal tea. They also have a small cafeteria which serve some simple Korean food. After shopping, I sometimes have a food there. It is pretty good. They have a good size of parking space.

I’m a big fan of Korean food, well all foods but if you asked me top five, Korean food would be on the list. All that fermented, hearty cooked way of preparing with garlic, hot sauce, sugars, etc…
When you enter it’s a basic supermarket, add a couple things unique. The little bit of sampling here and there. Ginseng and video section as what appears separate, the veggie/​fruit section, rice, noodles, seaweed. I picked up some hot sauce. Walked around and fount all the good stuff is in the back…
All the wrapped fish which looked pretty good, all the meats for BBQ/​Grilling/​Stews…
All the packaged fermented, hot, pickled, sweet, sourish, fried chicken and kimchi is back there near the shops, and a bakery.
With the Namoodol restaurant serving cooked Galbi, Soondooboo and Bibimbap, how can you go wrong with this multi section market.

HMart is the best when it comes to food selections in all areas. However,
this review is geared towards rude customer service!
I went to Customer Service and returned a box of Yogi Tea that I purchased on Saturday because I developed a minor rash. I mentioned to the individual that I did not have a receipt nor did I use my HMart card or my bank card. She said that she couldn’t refund my money because I had neither — ie, receipt, my HMart card, etc. Fine-​I didn’t want the money. Even with a store credit– that would’ve sufficed and I would’ve been a happy camper.
I definitely wasn’t going to take the tea back home! In the end, she refunded my money, and reminded me that they needed a receipt, but as soon as she whipped out $ 4 to refund me, she threw the money on the counter.
It didn’t sit well with me — seriously,
Where the f%#k are your manners???

This HMart has a nicer, more approachable staff than other HMarts I have been to. It’s in a more residential area, more quiet and peaceful to shop at than the Northern Blvd locations. It’s a bit smaller but they have A LOT of stuff. Area is narrow so navigating your shopping cart can be tricky. I usually go for the meats and they didn’t disappoint. The meats are a bit expensive but they have very fresh and red meat. Good selection at this market but like all supermarkets, you have to know your prices. I love coming here to get Korean items. I wish they had an easier process of signing up for the smart card, their loyalty rewards program, as the cashier wasn’t too familiar with it. They also have a small restaurant attached to the market that sells Korean dishes. They sell a diverse range of goods here in various sections including bakery items, hot to the touch and super fresh.

If you have not been here you gotta go!
Good selections of seafood to beef and other Asian groceries!

My favorite grocery shop. They got almost everything I need. Even the Korean Cosmetic store is located inside!!! If u r into K-​drama, u could find same makeup kit for Korean celebrity. (Not shiseido. It’s japanese cheap stuff, however expensive in the state!)
But the only problem is… the toilet…
It has to be upgrade sooner or later… totally not a good scene before u going to eat something here…
Other than that, I don’t have any reasons not to love this place!

I love this place so much better than the place on Northern. This place even has a dining section with freshly prepared cheap Korean food. And they are not racist like the other Northern Blvd one. You can read my other experience there in my other review haha. But anyway, I love the fact that this place is spacious and makes it so much easier to shop for groceries. The selection of meat is amazing! I often like to just come for the food that is right off to the side of the place after you enter from the parking lot side. Food is so good and always so filling.

I like this Hmart better than the one on Northern. Clean, good selection of veggies and other goods. They also have a bunch of freshly prepared foods such as sweets, pancake and kimbap rolls and assorted bibimbap. there is also a small eatery that serves affordable authentic korean dishes here where you can grab a quick meal named na moo dol. they have a small convenience store that sells household items. There is also a vendor that sells popped corn snacks and mini shaped snack cakes. Meat looks fresh and so does the fish market area. The only complaint is that there is no crosswalk in front of the store and it is difficult to cross because it is in the middle of 2 streets but there is a parking lot in the back.

Pretty fresh seafood, Korean spices, prepared food and a whole lot more … Great cultural store with parking to boot

Love the fish! This is the only place I buy my fish. Always fresh and they will filet it on the spot.
Veggies are also very fresh!
