Came here to get my samgyupsal on and it satisfied. They don’t give you a lot of side dishes, but they were all different from other Korean restaurants I’ve been to which was refreshing. They had a nice salad, mushrooms, fried zucchini, just to name a few. The samgyupsal was more expensive than other places, $ 25, but the portion was pretty good and it comes with kimchi and bean sprouts that are cooked on this huge dome shaped pan. Soju was also $ 5 which is pretty awesome. Overall a good experience. Service was okay and the food satisfying.

Maybe this place is only good for their BBQ(?). I came here for a simple lunch. I ordered soondubu and I wasn’t that happy with it. This goes the same for the seafood pancake. Both items were SO bland. I also disliked how my soondubu had broccoli… I feel like that ruined the broth. When I’m in Ktown, the broth is super flavorful and it included some clams and shrimp. At Shilla, it was literally just broccoli and tofu. I think the shop next door inside H-mart has better soondubu.

This place is on my top 10 list of all time. We ordered a seafood stew with shrimp, mussels, squid along with a squid stir fry. Prior to our order being served, the waitress came over with hot tea and many small side dishes which was a pleasant surprise. The side dishes were fantastic and were varied in flavor profile. We received kimchi, Korean potato salad, pickled beets, black bean paste, roasted potatoes, sautéed broccoli and a noodle dish. The soup had a light broth and was seasoned perfectly. The squid stir fry came in a hot pot with accompanying vegetables. The waitress was nice enough to mix the dish table side. At the end of our meal, we received a complimentary cold pumpkin beverage that completed the meal with a little sweetness. The service was excellent! The waitstaff was very attentive without being intrusive. It was as if she knew exactly what we wanted without ever asking. I went there yesterday for the first time and I am already planning my next visit:-)

Don’t go! Really bad service attitude. Went there one day only by myself. After sitting down and trying to order, their elder waitress just simply rejected me from ordering anything, and yell at me «you can’t order it, that’s two person’s order». Fuck ya, I just left.

I finally got to try this place since I heard about it on a YouTube video from Off The Great Wall. I tried their infamous pork BBQ. You have to order at least two orders which are about $ 23 each, which is a steal for Korean BBQ. It came with the two types of wraps, bean sprouts and kimchi, all cooked in front of us. Then the sides came and one was japchae, which Is usually an order on its own. Then kimchi pancake came out, I liked it but my bf didn’t and they also gave beef soonduboo. So much food and definitely worth the price! Then as dessert, they gave us pumpkin cinnamon juice, which was tasty. I will be back!

I was excited to come here because I love grilled pork belly(samgyupsal) and I love grilling it together with kimchi and bean sprouts. When we walked in, there was a slight delay in getting recognized and I remember noting that but we were seated pretty shortly thereafter so I did not think much to it. You get two options when you’re seated: grilling or non-grilling. We chose grilling and ordered the pork belly. While ordering, we spoke pretty clearly INKOREAN about wanting a soup on the side. We ended up order the galbitang as the side. It would’ve been nice if the waiter and waitress(both came by) told us the pork belly order comes with a complimentary stew. The stew came out first so we tried canceling the soup but it was too late. So we asked to pack it to go(when I ate the soup at home, it was a bit too salty). The food came and their banchans were decent. They had this rice wrap thing that is used to wrap the pork belly, sauce and veggies which was something different but good. The portion was decent and the complimentary soup hit the spot. On numerous occasions, we finished our ice-filled cups of waters and we’d place them at the end of the table but we continually got no attention. When we were done, we pressed the bell numerous times to get the staffs’ attention and even waving towards the cashier did not help. I swear, the girl must have chronic blindness! Eventually, we’d get the check and cash out. If you’ve been to a Korean restaurant, you’d know that the staffs typically greets you and says goodbye as you leave. As we were walking out, I was thinking, «are they really not going to say bye and thank you?» As soon as we walked outside, my girl thought the same exact thing. Food is obviously important but sometimes, the service and overall experience takes the cake. At the end of the day, Shilla had good culinary offerings but at least half the staff looks like kids in high school and even the older workers were too busy conversing with their regulars to take care of us. The one lady even realized we were first timers and still, we received no special attention which we don’t deserve but I’d still want to impress at the very least). Food alone would make me give this place around 4 – 5 stars but with the frustrating service, I’m giving this place a 2 star rating.

I learned about this place from a youtube channel name«Off the greatwall». So one saturday when my buddies and I were thinking where to dine, we decided to give them a try. I live in Brooklyn but I dine at flushing atlease once a week. To be extremely honest, I am not a fans of korean bbq. I think they all taste just as good and there is not much difference between one place and another. This place is no difference, it tastes good. The LA marinated steak? I believe thats the name, its really good and thats what my friends said as well. The korean lady was standing near our table to help us place the food onto the shield(thats what I call that thing), and she would cut it and flip it for us to ensure the quality of the meat. Some people might love this but not me. I prefer to keep my conversation with my friend private during the course of meal, eventho the lady didn’t know us and we don’t know her, it still bothers me. The food is not bad, price is average for korean bbq, maybe a little pricey for the portion they gave us. The service was great, how could it not be? We got someone who was really friendly and she was standing right next to us to serve throughout the entire time.

Went there because people say it’s good, but really it’s not that good. Food was ok. Service was bad.

My boyfriend and I were HUNGRY, I saw Shilla being featured in a youtube video and I had to come try it. From now on, Shilla is my go to kbbq place. The pork belly and kalbi(order the one that cost more) were sooooo good and the green onion salad was so amazing. Especially topped with their sweet spicy sauce. The waitress was super attentive and tried to teach us how to eat the food with her broken english, which i really appreciated. They have great service and great food! Oh there isnt as much banchan as a reg korean restaurant, but trust me banchan is not necessary here. We ordered a soup too which we could not finish. We both left with our tummies happy&satisfied.

This is the best place for pork belly in Flushing. The service is awesome and the pricing is wow… it hasn’t caught on yet so you can get seated easily.

Shilla Korean Restaurant on Union Street in Flushing is a gem. Excellent, plentiful barbecue with ample panjan(small side dishes) that include kimchee, fresh bean sprouts, salad, soup, radish slices, rice paper crepes, Korean pancakes, steamed egg and hot sauce. The wealth of panjan that accompany the barbecue means that one barbecue dish will likely feed two, especially if an appetizer is ordered. We savored the pork belly and beef short rib barbecues, as well as an order of steamed dumplings– all were delicious and portions are generous. The only alcohol served here is beer– and there is an ample list. Service was superb. Our waitress cooked our food table side and made sure that we were comfortable and happy. Enjoy!

Service and the price for the BBQ is phenomenal compared to all the other BBQ places that are opened in New York. This place is same owner as the Shilla in Ktown, NY. I’ve always had a pleasurable experience every time I ate here.

After a long drive from Brooklyn with my Aunt, Uncle, baby cousin and Mother, this place was wonderful. They brought over a high chair for the baby right away and the waitress was very helpful to my mother and aunt. Large portions of fresh food, and super friendly staff. We all ordered random things from the menu from dumpling soup to fried rice and some spicy dishes. I enjoyed everything. The environment was really nice and clean, I would come back to try other things on the menu and BBQ!
