The side dishes are plentiful and good. The sashimi is average. Don’t expect to find special sushi rolls. Their specialty is Korean seafood. I wish there was a little more variety when you sit at the bar.

Went here for my mother-in-law’s birthday on the 23rd. Please see pics of what we ordered. I have been to this place many times, but this time I seemed to have gotten food poisoning. Immediately, the next day I started to feel strange and by mid-day I felt like I was hit by a truck. I was in bed recovering Christmas Eve and Christmas, It ruined my holidays. I will never go here again,

Had made a pickup order of a huge combo. Brought it home and started digging in, everything tasted amazing. Display was usual, but still makes you drool. Might be a bit pricier, but I havent tried other sushi places to compare it to. Waiter brought out half the sushi order outside with us to drop it off at the car. They gave so much side dishes to bring home & by so much, almost 2 full meals worth of food. Only flaw I saw was that at the venue, looked like there were lots of wanna-be«i think im cool» koreans that smoke, but thats all over that area. Do not recommend staying in for families with kids. But if you like some korean-themed sushi/alcohol, this probably wont be too bad. Oh there’s also valet parking which no one does cause it’s expensive(:

No real big difference from any other sushi place that serves the combo deals. The tables are small so they will rush you to eat the given dish so the next dish comes out. Dont remember what i ate…

Hands down the best sushi restaurant in town. There fish are all fresh and the side dishes are my favorite! I go here pretty often with my family and relative’s. The staff service is amazing and food never stops coming. We always make a reservation because its always busy in there.

First off, you shouldn’t come here thinking it’s going to be a 5 star restaurant experience. It’s a cozy, Korean style seafood bar type of place. There MAY be drinkers and loud people, just like you’d expect at any place where they sell alcohol, and I don’t mean wine. I’m talking about soju and sake type of place. A plus is that they have valet parking. Moving on to the food and service. I went there with my family of 6 and ordered the $ 200 Je Ju Do Special.(I called ahead to see what the serving size was for the special.) First they serve you some warm tea, a small bowl of abalone porridge and some cucumber spears with soy bean paste dip. Following that, stuffed clams(okay), steamed clams(standard), clam sashimi(fresh), oysters on a half shell(standard), white fish sashimi(fresh), raw oysters on an ice bag with soy sauce dipping sauce(good), a shrimp tempura maki roll(yummy), cooked conch flesh with spicy & sour red pepper paste sauce(yummy), shrimp tempura(yummy), baked corn(good), fried fish with onions & sauce(really good), and a steamed egg pot(yummy). They do use gloves when handling all our dishes and when rearranging our plates to make room for more dishes. After we’ve finished what’s on the table, they clear our plates and make room for the 3 large platters of raw seafood: 1 large platter of fluke sashimi(which was really fresh and chewy), 1 platter of lobster tail sashimi with the 2 lobster heads and claws(which they use for the spicy fish stew later), 1 large platter of a variety of raw seafood which includes red clam sashimi, sea cucumbers, octopus sashimi(tako), sea urchin(uni), raw abalone, oysters and sea squirts, and 1 small plate of thickly sliced yellowtail sashimi(which was good). Lastly, once we’re done with those, out comes the roasted yellowtail leftovers(really good), and 2 steaming bowls of the spicy fish stew with the leftover lobster from before(really good). I may have missed 1 or 2 things but it was worth the $ 200 as all 6 of us were stuffed. Overall conclusion: Special was worth it, the food was fresh, service was fast and clean and I would come here again. Please do note that this is not the place you go if you’re expecting fine dining and silverware. It is more of a mom and pops seafood/sushi place where adults come to enjoy some seafood and a bottle of soju or sake. Mind you, if you went somewhere else like in the city, it’d cost you more than a pretty penny compared to this place. So if you’re going to be a stuck up person about it, then go else where!

This place used to have great service and had to wait due to minimal seating. I don’t know what happened but the last 2 times i went they would have almost nothing i wanted to order since they tell me everything is sold out or not in season. So i order whatever they can actually serve, thinking atleast i’ll get lots of sides. Guess what i get? Poor quality sashimi and low quality sides and paying over $ 100 for this… This is just a nono for me but i fell for this 2 times. Hopefully they will get better since 2 more competitions closeby. Also i forgot to mention i went around 8pm. Call ahead to check if you want something in particular is available because it will be on menu but … Never even served

One of the better korean sushi restaurants in flushing. They are not known for the flavourful tuna, salmon and yellow tail but good for fluke, sea cucumber, abalone and the side dishes.

Oh no no no. The quality of the food has seriously hit Rock bottom at this place. We couldn’t wait to get out of here. It was terrible. I’ve never seen sashimi cut in these shapes. It was like wooden toy blocks. It’s like they served us leftover fish. Disgusting.

Been here twice now, I have conflicting views since the first time I came here I though it was amazing and the second time being good to satisfy a fish craving. Walking in to the right you see the tanks of fish. As you wait you see the men come and take the fish out fresh in front of you to cut up to serve. You cant get any fresher than that in NYC. They have sets, A, B, C, D I forget how many they go down to. The first time I was here we got the best one, with the most fish and the lobster sashimi. So many side dishes, so much fish, it was a great meal and first time experience. This past time we got C if Im not mistaken. Smaller portion and in my opinion not as good quality as I had had the previous. The side dishes that come with it varies, some sushi, mussles, baked corn, egg soufflé, clams, seaweed, an assortment of things to compliment your sashimi. For these starts to go back up Ill have to revisit again and have a knockout experience, otherwise I think Im gonna adventure the area more and look for another place.

Being used to Mahattan sushi & prices, I was definitely impressed. Came here twice on different occasions. 4 stars — since I would definitely go back as long as they continue keeping the quality. First time, ordered the Korean styled sashimi set«C» for three girls. Way too much food. We loved it and ate to our hearts’ content, for only $ 38 per person, including tax and tip. A full large plate with white sashimi and a second plate with variety of other fish sashimi come out. Keep in mind that the Korean styled sashimi is slightly different from the typical sashimi ordered in Japanese sushi joints and the fish will typically be chewier and won’t «melt in your mouth.» Second time, ordered the sushi & sashimi combo set«C» for two people. Fresh. The variety of sashimi that comes out definitely requires no chewing. Not a lot of sushi — mostly sashimi. I think it was like total of 6 pieces of sushi and one cucumber roll. Rest were sashimi. It felt like it was a lot of food. We eventually had it to go, although not ideal for sashimi. The sides aren’t amazing. I did not like the stuffed clam(felt like cole slaw with clam meat in clam shell) and the tempura shrimp is typical. I do like their mussel soup though and the corn bake(mostly because I like anything cheese and corn). The spicy fish stew that they give you in the end is amazing. We also took that to go. Service is not amazing — its your typical Korean restaurant service. One should accept that Korean servers will yell across the restaurant and be slightly rude. Not saying it’s right, but it is what it is, and probably will be. It’s not your 4 star restaurant.

My parents decided to try this place instead of our old fave Chung Hae Jin on Northern Blvd. Nothing exceptional to add to this restaurant. Typical Korean-Japanese restaurant in the area. The huge apps were on the bland side and not too memorable. My parents and I ordered a medium sushi platter($ 100), an order of fresh sea cucumbers and 2 bottles of soju. The server who took our order screamed in our order across the hall to the«sushi staff» from the table. Oddly we were given starter soups before our menu&water had arrived. All of the apps came out at the SAMETIME, I would say within 10mins of ordering. If you’ve been here, the apps are really entrees, NOTBANCHANS, and they serve at least 9+ varieties. So obviously most of our apps got cold. I prefer broiled/fried/creamy apps hot. Water wasn’t refilled. Was it an «off» night? The service was atrocious throughout the entire night. My parents were seconds away from walking out. The servers continuously touched and moved our plates around, their fingers touching our food– without ever asking us first. I had to literally grab plates from random servers’ hands and tell them I wasn’t done eating! My family was there for 1 hour, at most. If you want to have a great dining experience in a civilized manner, do not come here. Spend your hard-earned money at nearby sushi places on Northern Blvd. I recommend Chung Hae Jin.

One of the better Korean style sashimi joints in the hood. I’m giving them four stars because of the freshness of the sashimi. There was no fishy smell on any of their fish, and they were choice cuts. The naturally salty mackerel was fresh as well. It’s definitely hard to find fresh mackerel. The complimentary oysters were fresh as well. The freshly cut baby octopus was invigorating as usual. Octopus has a significant amount of taurine which is an amino acid that is one of main ingredients in your average energy drink. There is nothing like the sensation of bits of little legs suctioning on the inside of your mouth while chewing. The side dishes were not nearly as good as I remember. The rice porridge lacked flavor and was clumpy. It seems like they like using mayo liberally on a few of their side dishes. On a positive note, the service was impeccable. My plates were changed frequently and my water glass was always full. The verdict: Outstanding sashimi but mediocre side dishes. But who really goes to a sashimi joint for the side dishes?

It’s a requirement to come to this place with an empty stomach and an open mind… I’ve been hearing about this place for years, that it’s a local spot and hidden treasure among those who reside in the area. *Warning*: The side dishes are plenty and delicious, but don’t fill up on them and make room for the awesome Sashimi. The Lobster Sashimi is delicious but if you’re a bit squeamish, be warned that the body is split in half and might still be moving when it arrives at your table. Service was not bad, but there were a couple of times that I had to wait a bit longer for someone to come over. All in all, come visit this place when you can for their Sashimi!
