I am a returning customer, I enjoy this place very much. The servers are extremely friendly, the environment gives me a very rustic and nostalgic feeling of the Chinese Korean restaurants back in Korea. If you have yet to try Chinese Korean food I highly recommend this place before all others. The jjangmyun is to die for, they have a special one with seafood served on a sizzling platter and it’s utterly amazing how well prepared it is. Their jjampong is full-flavored and executed perfectly. They have a very coordinated front and back of the house staff making the short dine a wonderful experience.

Best tangsooyook I’ve had in NY. They know to give you the sauce separately(not a fan of soggy battered pork — dipping lets you conserve the crispiness). The buljjajangmyun(«fire» jjajangmyun) was moderately spicy. Four hours prior I had stuffed myself at an all-you-can-eat shabu shabu buffet, but I somehow managed to eat the entire bowl by myself even after eating the tangsooyook and ggampoongsaewoo that we ordered(huge portions, btw). Then ate some jjampong lol They have dum dums at the register

When they newly opened, it was really good. Tang soo yook was one of my favorite and their jja Jang myun was good too. But, now??? Totally changed. Tang soo yook portion is smaller than before and they use very small meat which I don’t like. Jja Jang myun taste bad too. I’m going back to Sam won gak.

Their jjajang myun is pretty good. Huge portion. I’ve also tried their jumbong which was just OK. We also ordered this jumbo fried shrimp in garlic sauce last time and that was pretty good. Service is always quick and friendly. This place is also very very clean. Will be back again

Average at best. Closest restaurant to my house but I would walk over to Chinese House(joonggookjip) instead if I wanted jjajangmyun.

Checked in on 6÷13÷15 for dinner Beef Fried Rice — Not bad, but not the best. Decent flavor but a bit on the dry side. Beef was a bit on the chewy side. Jjajangmyun — Bland. Forgetful taste. Needs more flavor. Tangsooyook — Delish! Huge portion. Customer service was good and friendly, however, my stomach has been hurting since after the meal and it’s been 24hours and is still hurting… Don’t think I will be back after that.

Heard about this place from a friend and decided to check it out, I was also in the mood for jajamyun! We also ordered tangsuyuk. I liked that they put the sauce on the side, that way the meat wouldn’t get too soggy. I ordered the spicy jajamyun, my friend ordered the regular. Both were decent sized portions and good, until I got to the bottom of mine, it tasted kind of burnt. which was odd, because it was good at first. Needless to say, I didn’t finish my noodles. The downfall, there was no lunch special. so bit on the pricier side for a jajamyun house!

The foods pretty darn good and is the staff service. The lady owner is so friendly and attentive to your needs. The food is made pretty quickly.

Just ordered take out yesterday. The staff were super friendly, offered me some tea since it was cold outside and told me to sit down while waiting for the order. I order the special brown sauce which is pretty tasty! I typically don’t eat jjajangmyun but I’d eat it from this place. In the special brown sauce, it contains some pork, zucchini and onions. :3

I passed by this place many times but never tried it but my mother did it with her friends and she recommended to me and I love their Gan Jjajang(Which is similar to Jjajangmyun but sauce has more fresh veggies and put on the side than the throughly cooked Jjajangmyun sauce that’s already poured on) After trying them twice, here’s what I liked. Their sweet and sour sauce(we tried the pork but the sauce is the important part some place can’t get this right) was made just right and fried mandoo was one of the best I’ve had in the city. The only down side for me was that Kkan poong Shrimp sauce was just spicy and not tangy. And the service was less than desirable by who I assume is the female owner or manager by the counter. She seemed to have short temper and didn’t have friendly demeanor that other store owners have. Anyway, here’s my rundown. Food: 4.5 maybe others like less tangy kkan poon sauce otherwise Awesome Décor: 4 It’s pretty good for a Chinese/Korean fusion restaurant. Service: 3 I didn’t expect red carpet treatment but definitely subpar. Overall: 4 Service can be overlooked since this is not a fancy 4 star restaurant. Food itself is great. And location is great.

I’ve taken-out roughly 3 times and the food is fantastic. I’ve read some Unilocalers comment about food being bland but honestly I personally love the light flavor of the soups and sauces. It doesn’t seem like they add a lot of MSG like other restaurants(hence the bland taste) and the noodles are fresh and the rice not too oily. The JjaJangMyun is on a sweeter side so i took off a star…

Kkampoong shrimp is da bomb! Make sure you eat it as soon as it comes out. The batter is made of rice so it’s chewy but also crispy when fresh out of the kitchen. The sauce is tangy and delightful. Jjambong is awesome as well, with fresh seafood and chewy noodles. The soup is savory and is chock full of seafood. The owner is super nice. Love this place!

Not really feeling the plain ambient décor, but their service and food is spot on! Came here with my family when they opened because we live close by, and we had a great time. Their servers were sparking with conversation, and the food hit the spot. Only 4 star because I really, didn’t feel their interior, it felt a bit… cold. Not cold relating to temperature but… lacking color and the warmth and environment restaurants should make you feel…

What i wanted to give this mew restaurant: three stars One for being clean. One for the really friendly owner… I think she’s the one with long fading black almost gray but not quiet there yet hair… One for the guy who kept filling up my water…(I drink a lot of water!) I felt like the food was too bland… we had the(spicy black bean sauce noodles),(steamed dumplings), and(dongkatsu)… I loved that the was spicy but it was still bland. It was lacking in something. The was bland. BLAND. Maybe I went on a bad night? The was pretty good though! Yay! To be honest, it was better than expected though! I walked in here because err… Chinese House. had no parking available. It’s unfair to compare this place to Chinese House! Come on guys. No one can beat hand tossed noodles! So I decided to give this place four stars because I should give their other dishes a try. will update in the future!

I love the cleanliness of new restaurants! I tried the seafood jjambbong and the tangsooyook today and they were both delicious. I loved how freshly cooked the tangsooyook was, how fresh the seafood in the jjambbong was(they didn’t taste like they were pre-frozen), and how chewy the noodles in the jjambbong were. The waitress and the workers there were all very kind and friendly too. Overall, it was a pleasant first visit.

We only had jjajangmyun and beef fried rice. So I review that. They are very delicious but compare to other Korean Chinese restaurant, their portion is way too small. But it is among one of best jjajangmyun I had. Noodle was cooked perfectly and jjajang sauce are freshly made. My son had beef fried rice. And it was excellent. Fried rice is all about fire that they are cooking. And they used appropriate cooking technique to satisfies my evaluation. Fried rice came with Jjambong soup. I taste soup. I may not like their jjambong. If jjajangmyun portion increase, I would give 4 stars.

Cchambbong was mediocre at best. The soup was bland and not spicy at all. The pepper garlic fried shrimp was also pretty bland unless you drenched it in the sauce. The service was also pretty awful. We had to ask for everything including water and utensils. Won’t be coming back for sure.

First review? Alright let’s goo. I went there expecting a lot of half half stuff like half jjajang half jjambbong, half jjajang half tangsooyook, etc. I mean those were the rumors I heard and I was left disappointed when I went to get. I got something called chulpan jjajangmyun(jjajangmyun on a skillet) but it tasted like regular jjajangmyun… I also got tangsooyook and I feel a lot of places mess up on that but this place didn’t so props to them. Overall, service is good.
