AKA Chun Ju Kimchi and Goshen Foods. I’ve been searching for some great kimchi in Queens, and this place sells a fine product. It’s a bit more expensive than the other brands, but it’s also that bit better. When you walk through the door, you’re confronted by a makeshift cubicle and a walk-in cooler. If you’re lucky, you’ll catch glimpses of a lady peeling diakon in the back. Using Queens English, I was able to purchase a half gallon of mustard green kimchi(!) for $ 15($ 4/lb) — it was pungently fabulous. Later, I discovered that some of their varieties can be purchased at the Korean markets in Flushing. I’ve personally spotted it at Han Yang on Northern and 151st.
