This diner is usually crowded, it appears not to have seen any renovations for quite some time! Service can be slow but the food generally is very good and at a fair price. If you are in this neighborhood, I highly recommend

Low key old fashion diner. Came because of the awesome Unilocal reviews and will definitely return. Good service, constant coffee refills. French toast was just as soft and fluffy as expected. My omelet was hot and not overly greasy. Solid local diner.

Always good food, quick service, and low prices. Can’t beat that! Love this place. Stop in at least once on every visit to my mother in law’s :)

Water is the first thing I try in any food places now and was immediately given a nice fresh ice cold cup full. We got an order of onion rings which was great for a diner. Also tried some club sandwiches, you got to try the meat/chicken to see how fresh a diner’s meat supply is. I was pleasantly surprised on how good the chicken salad club was and they give you a big plate of food for the price they charge. The boyfriend got a different chicken sandwich with melted cheese and that was great too. The side of fries that came with the meal was good(not salted which i liked) and didn’t taste like frozen fries like other places do. The coleslaw was decent but a bit too vinegary for me and the pickles weren’t to my liking but everyone has their own preference for those. The waitress was friendly and very patient with us and the owner was great. The atmosphere was old fashioned and simple with cool vintage items on the wall. Will be coming again :)

3.5÷5 Pop’s Diner has been around for ages. It’s probably older than my Pops now that I think about it. What’s crazy is that I’ve walked by this place for 10+ years, and I have never stepped a single foot in it until today. Well this review is one day late, so yesterday(3⁄19)! Onto the food: 1. Egg Omelette w/Swiss Cheese(complimentary wheat toast included), Bacon & Home Fries My foodie buddy ordered this. The total came to around $ 9.75 for this dish. For the price, she felt that the egg omelette wasn’t really worth it, and the only thing that she liked was the bacon. The egg was tasteless and lacked salt. Swiss cheese was not melted enough to her liking, and hardened fast. Home fries were not your typical fries, but were a bunch of lumpy and mushed potatoes put together. She did enjoy her wheat toast, though. It was crispy and the evenness of the grape jelly to spread on it was enough to fill her face with glee. 2. Swiss Cheese & Bacon Burger w/Sweet Potato Fries The burger was oozing meaty juice and still sort of sizzling when I bit down into it. Meat was tasteless, but the ketchup and pepper helped a bit. There was A1 sauce, but I don’t really like barbecue sauce. Sweet potato fries were the bomb. Exterior was crispy compared to the interior, had very small hints of sweetness, and went well with pretty much any kind of condiment. Yum! 3. Side of French Toast Heard through a grape vine that Pop’s Diner makes one of the best French Toasts in Foodie Land, so I definitely had to try it. It is one of the best, indeed! So soft like a pillow, and easy to pull-apart! It wasn’t overly sweetened and pleasant to chew. There was also a D.I.Y project involved: you can pour the pancake syrup and sprinkle the powdered and cinnamon sugar to your own liking. 4. Strawberry flavored Egg Cream Made from egg-white, strawberry flavored(notice«flavored») egg cream is like a soda, but frothier and more milky. The composition is also more fluid, and is light on the palate. Optimal for washing down all this food. The strawberry flavor wasn’t strong enough. Probably should have gotten the chocolate or vanilla flavored ones instead. Actually, I’d rather make this stuff at home. In addition to the friendly service, the food at Pop’s Diner is pretty fresh and convenient. When eating here, an entire spread fills the table. A diverse clientele from the surrounding neighborhood dines here. The lively atmosphere made me and my friend feel very comfortable as we made funny faces and cracked jokes at each other while we were eating. Omnomnomnom! My only complaint is that the egg omelette and the burger could use a little more seasoning. On a final note, Pop’s Diner is a good bang for your buck.

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been seeing this diner but i had never gone into the diner until today. It’s your pretty standard diner, hash browns, eggs, all the breakfast essentials. The restaurant was pretty crowded as expected on a Saturday morning, but the(3)? people who worked seemed to keep everything under control. The owner, is very friendly and seems to want everyone to enjoy the food and service. It felt as if he built his life around the restaurant, and you can feel it in the air.

It’s been a couple years since I reviewed this place. This will be for 2016 and on. They have recently renovated the inside with new seats but if you are not an observant person you probably won’t notice. You want to come here for their breakfast specials, they are available all day! Personally I would recommend eggs with sausage. Their sausage is a plump and juicy deep fried Italian sausage! It is delicious! I would also recommend their salad platters. Personally I like the tuna salad platter, it has amazing restaurant quality greens, really fresh lettuce tomato onions, a scoop of coleslaw and a scoop of tuna fish. It is a great summer time salad. Their chicken and waffles are not bad either! That’s something you’re not going to find around here. If you really want a treat go ahead and order a milkshake!

You can’t go wrong with Pop’s for breakfast! They have every American breakfast food you could want. They make everything to order, and it comes to you hot and fresh. I particularly love their home fries and sweet potato fries!

It’s a no frills American style diner that stands out from the clutter of Chinese establishments in the area. Kudos, first and foremost, to the owner who didn’t sell out and turn this place into another status quo Flu-Shing restaurant. And this is coming from someone who’s Chinese. Service: Good, and coffee refills were frequent, despite the place being nearly full when we were there. Food: Very good. Breakfast sausages were very tasty. Eggs were fresh. It’s a typical diner, feels likes a diner when you’re inside, and serves diner food. It’s a nice simple place.

My family and I have been dining at Pops for 10+ years. Their breakfast is really on point and their staff is friendly and timely with the food for the majority of the time. However sometimes it isn’t as great, today specifically was unbearable. I ordered a Chicken Parmesan Sandwich with fries. The chicken was near impossible to eat, it was extremely rubbery and undercooked. It really seemed as if it was laying in a freezer for months then just heated up. The cook should’ve made a conscious decision not to serve it, I’m a regular… I would’ve had no problem picking something else. The BIGGEST problem is that I’m physically sick now as I’m writing this because of their food which is causing me a ton of discomfort. I know the manager is really awesome and cares a lot about his customers so please improve the service.

Came here with my sister and friends. The food was good. I ordered chicken wings and they were crispy and tasty. Unfortunately the service was bad and the seats(booth) were a little cramped.

Again, an all American Diner experience. I had a pastrami Rueben with honey mustard, sour kraut dill pickles, oozing mozzarella cheese. The coffee was not fresh, the dining booths were comfortable, the place needs a little bit of maintenance, i.e.- the roof paneling needs to be replaced, they have water damage and makes Pops look dingy and dirty. Overall a friendly chill spot, for all you diner fanatics.

Honestly depends how you interpret this place. Some regard this diner as a vintage style local gem, others say it’s unmodernized and dirty. So what do I interpret it as??? Both. This place is a small and very old styled diner equipped with dim lighting. Upon sitting down I was given water but noticed debris floating in it. The table also had crumbs and other bits and pieces which I swept aside. The mustard container I was given had a disturbing dry crust on top that prompted me to attempt to retrieve the condiment from the bottom but ended up in a mess. I ultimately gave up and squeezed the crusted mustard to the side of my plate that wouldn’t touch my food. Walked in on a friday night around dinner time and there were 4 customers at most, 2 employees. As time passed the diner was very quiet and empty. There’s shakey ceiling fans circulating above. Seems like an ok place to read a book… also seems like those places you would see on those old 90s tv shows. Overall an extremely different place and ambiance from the other local food places. Food. It’s at a very VERY cheap price. Perhaps the cheapest I have seen a diner ever offer. Ordered a reuben sandwich which came with pickles and coleslaw. I believe my order was either $ 5 – 9, and basically you get what you paid for. Reuben was decent with saurkraut and melted cheese, toasted buttered(sourdough?) bread, yet some corned beef slices remained cold to touch, when put together the sandwich thickness was about 1 – 1.5 inches. Pickles were tiny, extremely dark colored on the inside which means very very sour. Cole slaw measured to be about a 1 teaspoon portion in those condiment cups you get from a nathan’s hot dog franchise. I’m a small person and some say I have a tiny appetite, but I was able to finish everything on my plate. The proportion seems to be enough for me, no leftovers to take back home. Is it the best place ever that people rave about? Not entirely, but I must admit the prices is what is drawing me back. I don’t think I would sit in and eat since I rather not go through the whole dirty water and crusty mustard incident again. I have yet to try their breakfast/dinner specials so my review is based off of a sandwich(which I usually get when I’m at diners). Overall prices are good, food is okay, cleanliness/ambiance is a bit lacking.

I love this place!!! I have been coming here for years. They sold it to a new owner a couple of years ago but nothing has changed. I have eaten alot of different things here, but i must say i love the breakfast the most. The waiter is so attentive and nice. He’s been there for a long time. I don’t know what else to say about this place other then its a great place to eat. You must try!!!

I was avoiding writing for this place cuz selfishly, I wanted to keep it a secret… but seeing as how the SECRETISOUT now — might as well send some luv and support their way. So, Pop Diner of Flushing, ATLEAST20 yrs old since I’ve been around, but I’m hearing it’s been longer. They renovated exactly ONCE and hiked the menu price exactly once, too — from $ 4 to $ 6, pretty fair, right? Another crowd favorite besides their low prices is their HOMEFRIES! My whole family loves this stuff(granted my fam is tiny), and I recently learned that they’re even better when you ask for it well-done /crispy. My favorite here is the corned beef hash(well-done), eggs over medium(another new thing I learned), and simply buttered white toast. Their breakfast menu is all $ 6-ish, and entrees @ no more than $ 10. Seasonal menu is also quite tasty(and cheap) around Thanksgiving & Xmas. A feast for 2 barely breaks $ 20! Last but not least is their welcoming & homey staff~ They’re all longtime workers here and cool with the regulars. Join us @ Pop and become a regular, too!

Local GEM for real! Classic, traditional, old-fasioned, old-school diner. Shame on me. I’ve lived in Flushing for so long and did not even give this diner a try. Yes, this place is a bit worn out and needs an update, but the food is amazing! *** GOODFOOD — Love the smell of delicious food around the diner, especially the aroma of grilling food ! What we ordered for BRUNCH: 1. TRIPLEDECKER: Sliced Turkey Breast Club(bacon, lettuce & tomato), served with French Fries, Cole Slaw & Pickle. $ 7.45 [PERFECTCLUB!] 2. Two Eggs, Home Fries & Whole-Wheat Toast wth butter. $ 4.60 [PERFECTEGGS!] *** GOODSERVICE — The staff is very welcoming and friendly ! *** GOODPRICE — The price is right compared to other nearby diners ! TIP: Cash ONLY aka no credit card, so bring some cash with ya!

To quote my close personal friend, Montell Jordan, This Is How We Do It! If you’re going to a diner, this is EXACTLY how you expect it to be. Friendly guy behind the counter asking if you want coffee, efficient waitress bringing the food, refilling your Joe. Simple, solid, satisfying food that doesn’t leave a giant hole in your wallet. If you could picture the perfect way to run a small business like a diner, this is exactly how you would do it.
