Wait staff was very unattentive. Dimsum was subpar. A lot of the dishes were almost cold. Maybe it was because it wasn’t busy at all. I probably will not go back. Only went here out of convenience.

NEVEREVEREATHERE This is the most disgusting place I’ve ordered from I almost threw up after I saw what was in the lobster that I had delivered I saw little pieces of hair in the lobster and started to look closely at the lobster and saw there was a bunch of black hair things in it . It seemed like there was something in the lobsters head part that got inside. maybe a piece of rat or something. becauae the hair was in chunks . I was so disgusted I almost threw up .I even have pictures of it as proof … Never eat here. EVER I am still feeling nauseated as I am writing this review I even posted a picture of the lobster … You guys can see for yourself if u look at the food pictures

I went to Mellie’s with three other people to check it out for dim sum one Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was actually right across the street from the hotel I was staying at, The One. Even though it was lunchtime, the restaurant wasn’t super crowded. The dim sum carts rolled around at regular intervals, and I was pleased to be able to pick up one of my favorites, the shrimp rice noodle roll, though I was a bit sad that I didn’t any tripe being wheeled around. But you can order anything that doesn’t come around which is what we did a few times. Hot and tasty shumai. Service was attentive. Glad we paid Mellie’s a visit.

I have not gone to a restaurant with as bad service as this one in a LONG time. Came this morning for dim sum with my 98 year old grandma, who uses a wheelchair. Upon arrival, the place was empty and we were promptly seated at the table closest to the door, which also had extra room to the side making it more convenient. My grandmother then shifted from her wheelchair to a regular chair as it was higher. A lady comes just as she got settled and told us we can’t sit at this table anymore because my grandmother is now occupying an extra chair from the next table over. We asked if we could stay due to convenience and mobility issues, this is when a manager comes over and tells us «it’s sunday, we need to do business. You are making us not be able to sell out the next table over». While I understand his business aspect of thinking, there is a nicer way to say and go about it with your patrons especially after we explained to you our situation. So we abided and changed tables. After we got settled again, a younger male waiter came by reluctantly and rolled his eyes the entire time we were trying to place a noodle dish order. This is the exact definition of «lead by example». From the manager down to the staff down to the dim sum ladies, there is a common attitude across the board. It is unfortunate because the food is actually decent and better than Jade Asian in my opinion, however I will not be returning.

Horrible manager! When I got my beef pan fried noodles today the noodles were soggy, no crunch and the sauce still had clumps from the corn starch they didn’t not mix thoroughly. I called the manager over and after explaining to him that we are regular patrons that order this all the time and this is not made right. He insisted that there was nothing wrong with it and when I told him to send it back and take it off my bill, this manager had the worst attitude! He said«sure, I’ll take it off but all of the employees will have to pay for it and they don’t make much«. This man then proceeded to point to each employee that was around our table and said«each one of you guys will pay for this dish that is being taken off of the bill«. I have never had such a horrible experience at a restaurant, EVER! Needless to say they have lost this customer!

Absolutely HORRIFIC. Had a family dinner here last night and was given one of the rooms with karaōke. Upon arrival we were taken to a side entrance that looked like an illegally converted walk up apartment building. First of all the entire floor was sticky. My mom asked them if they could do something with the floors since everyone who walked in had their shoes stuck to the floors. The waitress looked so annoyed and pissed that I was worried they were gonna spit in our food. She said that she didn’t have a mop. So she used a wet napkin to wipe one spot of the floor and then bolted out. We proceed to order and asked the guy if there the food was same price in a room vs being in the big dining room. They said NO. Prices are the same. One of the waitresses come in and ask if they should serve the dishes and my uncle tells them to wait ten minutes since we were still missing two people. Another waiter walks in and says we are going to serve to which my uncle says NO I TOLDTHEOTHERWAITRESSTOWAITRESSTENMINUTES. The waiter defensively responds with BUTYOUTOLDMETOSERVE and I ALREADYTOLDKITCHENTOSERVE. So much for customer service. The entire staff need to take a lesson in customer service because it was just non existent at this place. When we got the BILL, not only were we charged more for everything, when confronted, the staff gave different prices for everything. Long story short we ask. for the manager or owner and they said they weren’t there but finally a guy shows up and says he’s the«manager». When we challenged the bill he just got defensive and said those were the prices and we told him that different staff members told us different prices with variances of a few dollars. We paid the bill and decided this is a ONEDONE place. A place that can’t get their sh*t together doesn’t deserve my business.

I like mellies for their lunch specials. They also serve dimsum here. They have all your normal dim sum dishes, nothing exceptional. However, the lunch special is pretty good. They give you the main dish, rice, and a soup. The soup is really random but I’m always looking forward to it because no matter what they make, it is good. There was only one time it was just a normal egg drop soup. For the lunch special, I usually order the chicken or pork chops. It’s a decent amount. The fish is rather small but taste good. All in all, if you’re passing by and are in a rush for time, mellies is the place to go. They prepare their lunch specials in 10 minutes usually!

First discovered and experienced Mellies as a dim sum restaurant and loved it. My favorite Queens dim sum place. Recently had dinner there and it was equally great for dinner. Enjoyed winter melon soup, lobster with ginger and scallion, sweet and sour chicken, bean cake with mushrooms, sautéed spinach with garlic, shrimp fried rice. All food great. Service great too

Six of us came here on a Sunday around 12:30 pm. There was no wait time and refreshing AC was blasting as soon as we walked in(some people cheap out on the AC in the summer). It’s not as big and popular as Jade, Jin Fong or Asian Jewels, but it was nice to be seated right away and the dim sum was just as good. Carts were also frequent. Super cheap. Try something new, peeps! I know it’s sometimes unfair to judge places based on one bad employee apple, but there was definitely a rude older man who told us that something wasn’t on the menu and walked away when we had more questions. The table next to us was eating it, so he was obviously confused/mistaken and didn’t care to help us. We asked someone else and they didn’t give us any hassle. Totally happy with all the other hosts, wait staff and cart ladies though! Will come back.

Dependable restaurant, day in and day out. Nothing stands out, either way. I go there often. They lost the small parking to a new development/building. So parking becomes even tougher.

This my new dim sum spot. Found it in Google maps and we’ll definitely be back. Check out their spare ribs as they have this small rolled up noodle inside that absorbs the juices and fast. So delicious!

Absolutely unscrupulous crooks, Service is the worst, attitude is terribly. the waiter forcing you to checkout even you still not finish, the food already took away! every food is expensive, fried leeks to be $ 25, ! the most important thing is based on the original price also every dish plus 9.5, and you do not know what the money come from? because the menu is handwritten, and it’s different from the menu when you order, and there are many hidden consumption, final tip would force to charge you 40%. Obviously cheating. liar. Never went again. beware everybody !

Mellie’s is your decent Cantonese style restaurant that has ample parking and far from the regular busy traffic of Downtown Flushing, but still walkable from the 7 Train Station. Because of that, they tend to be less overcrowded and is a great catering spot for banquet parties. Random thoughts: — Why do they have a karaōke machine? Why? And the songs are so old… — Fried fish filet. Really salty, but very good. Just ditch some salt. — The bathroom is at an odd location; is that why there’s a screen there? Feng shui? — Why didn’t you give me more lobster, waiter-dude??? There’s no meat on the arm? Seriously?

I like their congee and casserole rice. Used to come here for dinner pretty often. Until a cockroach ran across my table one time and the waitress didn’t even offer an apology. Never again.

Traditionally, Chinese people would go to a restaurant after a Chinese wake(1st day) and a funeral(2nd day) for banquet style meals. Recently, I had to make arrangements for these meals. Instead of going to a more popular restaurant closer to the funeral home, we decided to give Mellie’s a try. The restaurant looked pretty good inside and the tables are spaced pretty far apart so that it was easy to walk around and speak with people at different tables. After having a trial dinner there, we decided to have our meals there. The manager was extremely helpful. We told him the budget per table and he crafted custom menus for both meals, and made sure to select appropriate dishes for the occasion. Both meals went off without a hitch. The service, while not impeccable, was more than satisfactory. While food was secondary on our minds, I’m happy to say that the food was great. And the dishes were huge in size, too. Some of the dishes may not be on the regular menu, but the highlights were the vegetarian dishes. A lot of banquets would just have greens with mushrooms on top. These vegetarian dishes were much more than that, with a lot of different non-meat ingredients that gave them a lot of depth in flavor. Sorry but I don’t know the names of these dishes. Another highlight was flounder two ways, with deep fried fish in a very light batter and stir-fried fillets of fish. The lobster stir fry with ground pork and chopped long string beans was also excellent. It was a solemn occasion, but the restaurant really helped in comforting everyone. Just want to write this review as thanks to the restaurant.

Not the best dim sum spot, but the only place that may have no wait on a saturday morning. I usually come here if my car is being inspected or serviced at the mobil on linden pl. The quality of dimsum is average, but the dim sum ladies are nicer. maybe its a less stressful work environment for them. The restaurant is quieter too, less arguing asians fighting for the bill.

There’s parking, the food okay, it’s quite clean, and away from the busiest part of Flushing. I usually don’t have trouble getting a table for dim sum so that’s definitely a bonus. However, I booked a private dinner party here once and they completely overcharged me. The owners even apologized and refunded a portion of the bill. Go elsewhere for large groups.

Came here for lunch with my parents. As far as dimsum goes they had the typical carts patrolling around as they hollered at what they had in their respective carts. For this reason I can’t say I can specifically name which was good and bad(I don’t remember the names of the foods). I found that there was a lot of hit or miss foods. For 3 people who picked out their fill, 50 bux wasn’t a bad deal, and if you’re in the area, it’s not a terrible place to eat, but it’s certainly not the place to go out of your way to eat at. The bubble tea was decent which was a good thing as it hit the spot after the meal(I was left wanting).

My review is pretty much the same as Carson W. We had our Chinese wedding banquet here a few weeks ago on a Saturday night. We had a private room with 4 tables, there was a good amount of space for dancing, but the karaōke machine was stuck in a corner and difficult to get to. My first annoyance with this place was my mother in law asked for a particular song to be played and we couldn’t find it because they listed Teresa Teng under HK singers, one of the staff went and found the song for us, but she turned it up to full blast instead of background music! Also they have a DVD player there and my sister in law planned to show pics from our wedding on the screen, but there was no remote and it took the staff forever to find it. Finally when they did, it wasn’t compatible with our disc. The food was standard banquet dishes, jellyfish salad & sliced meats, mayo shrimp, roast chicken but all very bland. Fried rice was weird – almost like pilaf. Lamb chops were fine. Also, apparently they used to have a parking lot, but no more! It was a pain to find a parking space nearby. I enjoyed time with family and friends, but the food here isn’t worth it. Pass.

SO i came back here for a dinner party… they put us up on the second floor that i did not know existed… we had a big ass pig. lobster tails… fish… steak… etc etc ETC! I was reluctant to come here again because their lunch disappointed me… but OK their dinner dishes were enchanting… we had so many dishes i couldn’t even remember what we had. we had the karaōke machine, and the staff did not complain about our party city poppers. We made a huge mess. The staff was actually amused with us. SO yes come here for dinner, you wont be disappointed. just don’t come for lunch boxes… you will kick yourself in the head
