Either my standards have lowered after six years of mediocre dim sum in NYC, or Jade Asian has stepped up their game. I’m still not sure if I would travel ALL the way to Flushing JUST for Jade Asian(although that is precisely what I did for this trip), but all the dishes I ordered were on point and quite delicious. That I came early at 10:30AM on a Saturday morning may have been a factor to the freshness of the food I got, but here are my thoughts on the few dishes I got: — liu sha bao(salted egg custard bun) — I simply love this salty-sweet, molten gold confection. I’d be hard pressed to find a salted egg custard dish I don’t like. Props to having the filling actually be liquid and dribble all over my fingers because that’s EXACTLY the consistency I enjoy. — har gao(shrimp dumplings) — the skin was a little sticky, but otherwise the shrimp was plump and fresh. — char siew shu(roast pork in flaky pastry) — Mmm this was delicious. Lardy layers of flaky pastry and caramelly sweet pork. — Shrimp cheong fun(shrimp in flat rice noodles) — The rice noodles tasted like it was made with something else other than rice noodle. It was just okay, I’m getting the sense that Jade Asian doesn’t do steamed skin for dumplings as well — chicken feet — Savory, sweet, gelatinous — I wished they cut the feet a little smaller, but I have no qualms about using my hands in this upscale Chinese banquet. — durian cream puff — like my American boyfriend says, this has all the delicious of durian with none of the funk. Sweet, creamy, mildly nutty — love it!

This is a highly recommended dim sum restaurant in Flushing. Although parking could be an issue ever since they cut down the space in the parking lot across the street, this will not stop me from coming back. There is a larger parking lot by Target which you can park your car there and it takes about 10 mins walking back to this location. Service is wonderful. Cart ladies are willing to explain each kind of food although English is obviously not their first language. Food is always decent. Much better than«Grand restaurant» near by. Definitely a must-go dim sum place in flushing.

Having dinner for Chinese New year’s eve with my family and relatives Didn’t receive the cold appetizer until 1.5 to 2 hours later. Still waiting for the second plate. What gives!!!

All around one of my favorite places to eat for dim sum! I believe it starts at 10 now. I came here with some family it wasn’t that bad of an experience on a WEEKDAY! It’s a big beautiful banquet for weddings and parties, don’t mind the Chinese waitress and waiters, their Asian. That’s how they act. It holds a mix variety of Chinese food. You’ll see small old Chinese ladies pushing carts, asking if you want this and that. They don’t know English so be prepared to point and nod and say no. Hold on to that chart they give you and watch over how many times those little old ladies stamp it. They WILL over charge you if you don’t keep a look out. You might even have to run after or follow one of the ladies to get the food you want, the struggle is real. Egg rolls, don’t waste your time. Your better off getting it at the Chinese food store. Btw, don’t flip your cup for tea unless your really gonna drink it. They charge you even if you don’t drink it but you flipped the cup. Overall, the food is good !

Been here twice now with the fam and I enjoy it. I think their food tastes pretty good and I like how the restaurant is open space so the cart ladies won’t miss you. In other restaurants, sometimes people are seated in a weird spot and the ladies rarely come over. I also don’t know what it is but I love their egg tarts here. I think they’re so yummy and i always get two plates. Everything else is pretty yummy too and it’s close by the parking lot so you don’t have to go too far for spots.

Ambiance: it’s spacious, filled with a mix of large and small tables and chairs that have seen some better days. There is an upper floor with rooms as well, fingers crossed you don’t get those, the dimsum carts are generally on the first floor Service: two words«it’s flushing» for those who eat in flushing you know what that means… Yup service is not the first thing in their business model rather how fast can we get you in our establishment and out. However when it comes to dimsum on Saturday and Sunday you will wait a bit for a table if you come after 10:30 am. Once seated you’re ready to eat but of course the dimsum lady with the cart of food you’re looking for is hard to find and never passed your area! Food: not bad, they do have s decent variety which is great my favorites here are the shrimp dumplings, pork rib, beef ribs and fried dough wrapped on rice wrap. All in all check it out for dimsum but go before 10:30 on the weekends so you don’t have to wait long.

I grew up eating dim sum on weekends with my family. It was like a tradition. And the Bay Area has a lot of authentic dim sum so I’ve been spoiled with the best. This was my first time having dim sum in NYC. It didn’t live up to the dim sum back home but it was really decent! What I liked was there were some things that I had never seen/eaten before at a dim sum restaurant so it was cool to try it(crab and lobster steamed dumplings for example). everything we had from chicken feet to custard buns was pretty good. Nothing really stood out as bad. Service is what you would expect at a busy Chinese restaurant in Flushing. No surprise there. I would be willing to come back just for some standard dim sum.

This is my go to place for dim sum: 1. Prime location. Right across the street from the(previously known as) big parking lot. Growing up in Flushing, I know that paying for parking is worth not wasting time on searching/fighting for street/free parking on Sundays. 2. Huge floor = fast turn around. During the busiest prime hours on a major Chinese holiday, even with a waiting room(a great hall in itself, with walls lined with seating and plenty of standing room) packed to capacity, I’ve only ever waited 20 minutes for seating. 3. Very good variety. This is one of the few places I know with such a big variety of food carts circulating at all times without having to place an order. It reminds me of when I was a kid and peeking into every cart. 4. Huge windows. The main dining room has an entire wall of floor to ceiling windows, with sheer chains that let in copious amounts of daylight. This is just a bonus for me because I happen to like having daylight while I eat brunch and many other dim sum places have a much darker atmosphere. 5. Promotional specials. They have always had specials running from Mondays-Fridays. Currently it’s their $ 1 specials throughout the week. The service is as you’d expect from any Chinese restaurant– curt and to the point without any pleasantries. The food is good, oily as you’d expect from dim sum. Service is fast with plenty of variety. The prices are really good, as is most of Flushing.

Jade Asian Restaurant & Caterer is an excellent Chinese(Cantonese primarily) dim sum and banquet hall. Arrive three minutes past the dim sum rush and you’ll wait. Despite the massive size of the place it becomes very busy. And boy do I mean«very.» The dumplings taste as good ans any other good dim sum place and the ambiance is Chinese chic. Plenty of carts containing a plethora of dumplings are rolled by an – if like me your Cantonese isn’t up to speed – you point at what you want. They charge a bit more than other dim sum joints but they are also better located in central Flushing across the street from a former DOT controlled parking lot. I’ll be back just as soon as I expunge all the MSG from my system which I consumed on my last visit to Jade.

I always pass by here but never went in. My group went in here on a Sunday morning and they were not that busy at 10am. Their variety seems okay with everything you’d expect in a dim sum place. The ambiance felt great with gold covered seats and suited up staff in the front. However I do have to complain about some of the staff with the carts… some of them are just not the most patient people. One lady yelled at me for taking 10 sec deciding whether I wanted a dish or not. Other than this little conflict my experience there had been a great one!

Came here for a wedding recently. This place is the epitome of a Chinese wedding factory. Just about everyone I know has their wedding here. The banquet food was all right. Dishes are mostly a hit or a miss. I feel most things are pretty tasteless. The bathrooms here are disgusting and really dirty. I don’t think it’s the cleaning lady’s fault. I think it’s just the design of the sinks because it causes water to spray everyone causing wet and slippery floors. The bar they use for drinks and the selection is pretty bad. The cups are super tiny and the selection isn’t great. With the popularity of this restaurant, I don’t understand why this place doesn’t step up their game. I bet if they stepped up their game and made this place cleaner and more presentable and have better food, this place will be even more popular. I would give this place a pass unless someone else chooses to come here.

I WANTDIMSUMNOW! Oh my God, the tears of joy this place brought me. I’ve never eaten so much food in my life. Okay, so I’m Mexican American — don’t know diddly squat about Chinese culture, but my friends informed me that Dim Sum is a Sunday brunch type of thing. So of course I tag along because if there is food involved I am totally in! Especially something new and different :) Anyway! We arrived and were a group of 8. We got there pretty early because my friends informed me the wait would be long. I think we waited 3 minutes tops before we were seated, but this was at like 10:30 am haha. It only took about 20 more minutes for the place to get ridiculously packed. They put us in an empty room and I swear 20 minutes later every single table was taken and the line in the lobby was ridiculous. Oh my God the fooood. There was so much food! I let my friends pick and I had a bit of everything. I felt like royalty. They just kept coming with food. I just kept shoving my face. I’ve never been such a glutton in my life. I came out of that place with a food baby. Looked like I was 6 months pregnant. Not even Thanksgiving day could touch the amount of food I devoured here… and it was delicious. Every single dish was savory. Every single dish packed a punch. Damn it! I want Dim Sum now! ah! So do me a favor, go eat at this place and think of me fondly please. I wish I could be joining you here. Oh! And the price was insane! There was 8 of us and I paid $ 21 tip included. Not. Joking. So enjoy! I’m not an expert on Chinese food, but I know what my taste buds like and trust me, there was a celebration going on in my mouth when I ate here.

Food: This is my favorite dim sum place in Flushing NY, my second is on the top floor of the New World Mall. Their dim sum is decent and they have a huge dining hall and they have many variety of dim sum. Price: I think this place is a tad expensive… the bill was $ 40 for 2 people and I wasn’t even full.(just saving my belly for other yummy eats in Flushing) Décor: Typical grand banquet hall. Can totally see this place host Chinese Weddings. Parking & Finding the Place: Reason I like this place so much is the parking lot is right across the street, while you have to pay for parking… I rather use this parking lot than the one at new world mall.

Situated off main street it’s a great spot for a dim sum spot and for full blown cantonese dinners. Large space with plenty of tables. During prime weekend dim sum hours you’ll find plenty of people here waiting for tables but the wait is short due to the plenty of tables. 10 minute wait and we had our spot. Nice variety of dim sum plates. You’ll find your standard hai gow, churn fun, and usual plates but they also have great creative plates of tofu and shrimp and fried durian pastries. Wonderful egg tarts and lotus
