GREATHOTPOT place. Very reasonable price. Love the fact that the hotpot comes with the vegetable plate so we can just focus on ordering meat dishes. Great atmosphere. Good choices for dipping sauce. Love the fact that each person get a personal pot. Attentive waiters and waitresses.

I’ve been here twice and both times I got the lamb. The food itself isn’t bad. The sauce bar is pretty standard through out most hot pot places so it’s nothing special. You get your own little hot pot and they give you a platter of hot pot ingredients but only literally one of each and the lamb combo is pretty small for the price. The flavor isn’t necessarily bad but honestly the broth is so plain it just tastes like water with msg. We know the waiters so they give us free drinks and they’re really attentive to us. If you’re not filled up at the end you can ask for a bowl of rice and mix it into the soup to make congee like thing and crack your egg in it. However for guys or gals who like a little more content to their hot pot and not just fill themselves with some rice at the end I’d recommend iCook which is an all you can eat hot pot place a few blocks away that is pretty much the same price but for so much more food since it’s all you can eat.

The hot pot is your typical hot pot, great base items included, and ample add one, all for a great price(items always appear fresh!). But what earns this baby 5 stars is there bbq! The lamb, beef and chicken sticks are the best I’ve had INMYLIFE, anywhere! Have that with any combination of the fried rice and you’ll be back asap. Great atmosphere to meet up with friends, or to bring a dinner date. I’ve been here about 5 times in the past couple years and they’ve never disappointed. Try the lamb stick, please, I beg of you!

Excellent selection and fresh. I have been coming here with my mom for a long time. Usually I just stick to the base platter they give you and load up on the crockpot options love the spicy oil but don’t get too crazy or it will be inedible! The leek dumplings and scallion pancake with eggs are also a banger. For three people with 2 appetizers, one regular hot pot, one beef and one beef and shrimp it was under $ 50. That’s amazing.

This place most trustworthy hot pot place i know. I know there are some other hot pot places around this restaurant, but i always end up in here. However, i’m only giving 4 stars because of the last time i visited, they served my friend a bad beef combo. It looked like it was rotten or something, and there was more fat than meat. So he asked to get another set of beef, and they looked same as the other one that he returned. Sometimes, you won’t get the fresh looking beef…

There are a few more hot pot restaurants in the area to choose from now but we’ve always go back to Minnis for hot pot meals. We have been dining here for over 13 years now and never yet experience a bad meal or slow service.

A fairly authentic Korean style Shabu-shabu joint that has everything except the decent service you would receive if you were actually in Korea. Even with terrible service, the food selection is enough to make me want to go back here and try some new things. I’d recommend adding extra mushrooms, dumplings, and Chinese broccoli to your meat selection. Best way to get the most out of this restaurant is in a group of 4 – 6 so you can share more choices. Try not to burn your mouth!

If you have the hotpot crave from a cold winter day, but aren’t looking to get explosively full, this is the spot! 16 $ for a fatty beef combo which is an assorted variety of veggies/noodles/fishtofu/fishballs/corn/fattybeef/etc., You have your sauce station with the essentials to make your sauces delish. They have seating on 3 floors with great ambiance for a date or small group gathering. The soup is always great and one of my favorite things to do here is, after eating all the combo items, i would order rice and turn it into rice soup with my awesome soup base! In terms of service, i’d assume it has deterred and became more of a lazy and easy-going delivery. Being opened for quite a while with a consistent staff probably knows they won’t be expecting customer/revenue loss, so service isn’t a top priority for them!

This is my favorite go-to hot pot place in Flushing. I like the modern décor, it’s clean, not noisy, and the veggies/fish ball/noodles side they give you is fresh. I always get the plate of raw beef slices which cook in seconds in your hot pot. The sauce bar has a variety of ingredients to make dipping sauce or to give an extra oomph to your hot pot broth.

Excellent experience! First time in a long day that I had went for hot pot and it was much desired! I ordered the lamb meat and tried the curry Roth for the first time and really enjoyed it! The curry flavored was not too empowering and has a hint of sweetness. I would definitely recommend. It was a very satisfying meal. The staff was also extremely kind and welcoming! They all said goodbye and gave us new year wishes as we left!

The beef at their restaurant isn’t fresh. Beef is like black after you cooked it. When I tried to call the waiter and changed it, they said that there isn’t fresh beef and all the beef is like the same. One final thing I want to say is that there is EARTH on the vegetable. CHECKIT before you put it into your pot!!!

2 stars, and 3 blank stars, why?: 1.For the food, i like em, it’s perfect for the winter and taste good, price it’s ok! 2.The place is very clean and spacious, bring tons of your friends and you good to go! 3 blank stars??? –Came here yesterday and after we eat they turn off the heater on my table, WTF??? if you want to get more people coming to your place that is not the way to get new customer! Conclusion: I have no idea, actually, should i love or hate this place, but for now, this is the end of my rant

My friend who lives in Queens recommended Minnis Shabu Shabu and so I trekked all the way from Upper Manhattan to check this place out. All I can say is YUM! Everyone has their own pot and starts off with a platter of veggies and fishballs. From there, you can order additional meats and seafood. My friends and I each ordered the seafood + meat combo($ 18) and were pleasantly surprised by the huge portions. There’s a sauce bar located at the center of the restaurant, where you can create your own concoction of spices and sauces. I was left uncomfortably full, but extremely satisfied. Too bad this place is so far away, otherwise I would want to come here whenever it’s cold out(basically every day of winter). (+) Prices are extremely affordable, and large portions! (+) Spacious and roomy (-) Service is not the absolute best(ladies who work there were kinda grouchy)

I must say that I enjoy the individual hot pot culture, it’s great for folks who despise the intimacy of the traditional communal one big boiling pot. With that said, Shabu Shabu is great for adding the hands-on creativity to the dinner table so you dont have to scramble to acquaint to your less than enthusiastic co-workers, your in-laws that you are scheduled to dine with, the list never ends. Shabu was very reasonably priced, for less than $ 20 per person, you get a platter of your choosing to add into your broth. Customize the broth: original, spicy, kimchi, curry. The hot pot toppings are different surf and turfs and/or veggies. And the obvious appetizers and yakitori sticks. but who wants to buy all that when you can barely finish your enormous portion already. We saw our neighbors ordering rice on the side, and tossing them into the soup base, and boy were we amazed. They just made congee!!! The service was fast, efficient, and friendly. Decent selection of sauces/dippings. Very clean. I suggest to ask for seats at the bar, or they will have you share tables with other people for parties of less than 4.

Great shabu shabu spot. Came here twice and enjoyed it both times. They have an impressive, clean and fun to use sauce bar where you make your own mixture. Everyone gets their own individual pot and A tray of mixed cabbages and tofu and fish balls. The meat and other specialties like dumplings and seafood is ordered by menu. The waitresses refill the broth very often and are accommodating. Come with a fun small group and enjoy your meal because the taste is pretty good and the price is decent and manageable.

I’m a fan of Minnis: D! I’ve been here soo many times and I will continue to come back. I like how I get my own personal pot so I don’t have to share with other people, haha. They only have one type of broth, but it’s flavorful! It’s not just plain water. A reason why my friends and I keep coming back to this place is because of their good tasting broth. Their food is decent price, I wouldn’t say it’s super expensive. You get a good amount of food that’ll get you full. If not, you can ask for a bowl of rice and make congee with it at the end :)! Just simply pour the bowl of rice into the soup, crack the egg into pot, and stir for a bit. You can also add some sauce into it to make it more flavorful. One thing that’s slacking is… the waiters never come to refill my cup of water/tea. The place can be half empty and the waiters are standing around. BUT not filling my cup of water/tea :(I’ll always have to wave the waiters down to get their attention. No bueno. –1 star. Other than that, the waiters are really nice and the place have a good amount of seating available

terrible shabu place. WHITEPEOPLEBEWARE If you’re white, expect some of the worst service ever(there’s a reason all the great reviews on here are from Asians) We saw our waitress(Candy or Cindy) twice total, i had no drink refill for about 45 minutes. She barely spoke English either. The seating arrangement sucks. If you have a party of two, expect to be seated with another couple at a table for 4 people. Not a date spot at all. There is no real broth, they literally give you plain water to boil and that’s it. Luckily you can dump a ton of sauces in there for flavor. It took 30 minutes to get a side of scallion cakes The«Sweet and spicy» sauce they have is ketchup with sriracha. wtf The meats and sides were pretty good. The meats were sliced pretty thin and broke apart pretty easy once you dipped them in the pot. I did like that they give you a complimentary sampler platter of veggies, noodles, and other random stuff. After coming here on a date and seeing they do individual hotpots — I actually think a single shared hotpot is WAY better for a date night. I’d recommend Little Sheep down the street. The prices are really the only redeeming thing about this place. Also, 2 hours after leaving I had terrible stomach ache

Decent shabu place for a cheap price! OMG it gets super packed around dinner time so come around 6 cuz thats when it starts getting crazy. People start lining up outside the place and in the winter, you don’t wanna be stuck out in the cold for like an hour. I always go with the classic beef phở and flavor my stock with lots of chili oil, garlic, scallions and soy sauce. My friend likes it on the sweet side and she uses a lot of peanut sauce. To each their own! You can also make your own sauce concoction for dipping your veggies and meat! They people are quick to take your orders, serve your food and refill your stock if it starts getting low. BUT they expect you to leave when you’re done eating. The best part is boiling out your stock so the flavor concentrates and ordering a bowl of rice. Put the rice in the bowl, crack an egg and you got your some amazing porridge! I usually save some of my veggies and meat for the porridge too so that it will be extra yummy! It definitely fills you up too

It’s kinda the Flushing no frills stand by. I think the food is still great even though their prices have gone up. I have been going to this restaurant for over 10 years now. I like this place because they offer individual pots for everyone as opposed to one giant pot. There is kinda a hot pot war brewing in Flushing, there are so places that have popped up and they all do pretty much the same thing, but I think Minnis is still a solid choice. I think the proteins are great but some are not overwhelmed by the quality of the sauces. The food: BBQ Taiwanese Sausage– I think these are great, they are porky and have a nice sweetness to them. I think they are made well, they also have a nice crunch on the skin and the flavors are great, but on the greasy side. They serve it with raw garlic which is a nice offset to the fattiness of the sausage. Scallion pancake with egg– I can’t understand for the life of me why I like this dish so much. It’s such a basic dish but I really like it. It’s a scallion pancake with egg, I can’t describe it any other way. lol Sliced fish shabu shabu– The fish is the go to protein. The fish cooks up nicely in the hotpot. I always get an order of fish for the table. Beef Shabu Shabu– is another good choice, but there is a good amount of fat on the beef so beware. The flavors are nice, they are cut super thin so they cook fast but the fat can be a turn off. Fresh seafood shabu shabu– Didn’t think the seafood was all that special. They had shrimp, scallop, crab, clam, squid and fish but nothing really exciting. I think this is pricey and skippable.
